These networks' backhaul transport for the LTE user and signaling traffic needs to operate in various environments and over a wide variety of networks built on a mix of technologies and equipments. All network elements of such a network are interconnected over other wired and wireless network technologies, each with performance characteristics of their own - and performance issues which will often be translated into issues seen on the overall LTE network performance. It is important to understand this behavior and the interdependencies in order to understand how to optimize and eventually predict performance of 4G LTE networks. Since 4G LTE itself is a full IP-based network, this means understanding and assessing the effect of IP impairments on LTE and its transport links. In this paper, we analyze the impact of backhaul packet delay (latency) on the LTE S1-U interface, which provides user plane transport between the Core Network and the Evolved NodeBs. We emulate different packet delays on the S1-U interface, measuring the impact on end-user throughput and discussing the results. However, as the size of data centers grows, finding optimal VM placement solutions becomes challenging. The typical approach is to rely on heuristics that improve VM placement scalability by (partially) discarding information about the VM behavior. An alternative approach providing encouraging results, namely Class-Based Placement (CBP), has been proposed recently. CBP considers VMs divided in classes with similar behavior in terms of resource usage. This technique can obtain high quality placement because it considers a detailed model of VM behavior on a per-class base. At the same time, scalability is achieved by considering a small-scale VM placement problem that is replicated as a building block for the whole data center. However, a critical parameter of CBP technique is the number (and size) of building blocks to consider. Many small building blocks may reduce the overall VM placement solution quality due to fragmentation of the physical node resources over blocks. On the other hand, few large building blocks may become computationally expensive to handle and may be unsolvable due to the problem complexity. This paper addresses this problem analyzing the impact of block size on the performance of the VM class-based placement. Furthermore, we propose an algorithm to estimate the best number of blocks. One of the biggest providers is the ASTRA system of geostationary satellites. Television satellite standard widely used is the DVB-S which established a unified standard for a satellite transmission accepted both by customers as well as the industry. Standard DVB-S2 has improvements in efficiency (bits/Hz) and adaptive as well as variable coding and modulation. While DVB-S digital satellite standard has constant modulation and coding, standard DVB-S2 can adopt both modulation and coding depending on the weather conditions, channel interference, etc. Both technologies still co-exist today. This paper analyses the parameters of both DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards such as bit error rate, modulation error rate, signal to noise ratio and signal level in different weather conditions. The measurements were performed in clear sky, clouds and rain conditions. They included extensive coverage of digital video signal in thirty different weather conditions. The results showed that DVB-S2 standard performs similar to DVB-S standard in clear sky conditions as well as cloudy weather, while for rain DVB-S2 excels. Maxwell's equations with time-derivative supplemented with initial conditions have been solved under the principle of causality. Dynamic version of the Ohm's law for plasma was involved in the system of Maxwell's equations as the constitutive relation between the plasma current vector and the electric field. In our experiments, we noticed that software distribution may significantly influence cost benefits achieved in Cloud. Software distribution optimization requires a continuous information influx on key metrics characterizing incoming workload. In this paper we propose a method for modeling workloads of business applications characterized by nonuniform distribution over the day. Two important properties are described: (1) modeling and forecasting repeatable patterns observed in the business context, and (2) modeling the inter-arrival time distribution of service requests. While former is important for constructing automated capacity planning controllers, latter is required for describing the amount of traffic variability. We analyzed these properties on a two-month workload collected from a production business services used by several thousand customers in retail domain in Croatia. Furthermore, studies indicated that major contributors to the power consumption of network are the power consumed by routers and switch during the runtime. Therefore, minimizing the power consumption of these network equipments is becoming an issue of increasing importance in the field of green network. To minimize the power consumption of the network, it is important to identify the relationship between network parameters and their effect on power consumption of the network equipments. The objective of this paper is to propose a method, based on fuzzy logic, to identify this relationship and use it to predict/ estimate the saving of power consumption when deploying new network equipments. Moreover, it can also be developed as a strategy to control the desired level of power consumption by tuning the network parameters. This study only focuses on impact of four network parameters, which are bandwidth, number of connections, traffic-load, and hibernation-mode, to the power consumption of an Ethernet switch. Thus, many researchers are investigating new solutions to save power. For this reason, in this paper we apply a method based on modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) ultra wideband (UWB) systems. The MCS scheme is a powerful method known by its ability to improve the spectral efficiency. Our goal in this paper is to investigate the performance of MCS mechanism to diminish the transmitted power under some assumptions. Computer results show the throughput behavior in function of signal to noise ratio (SNR) for different selection of modulation and coding rate. To turn treatable all network tasks requiring traffic analysis, sampling the traffic has become mandatory triggering substantial research in the area. Aiming at fostering the deployment and tuning of new sampling techniques, this paper presents a flexible sampling framework developed following a multilayer design in order to easily set up the characteristics of a sampling technique according to the measurement task to be assisted. The framework implementation relies on a comprehensive sampling taxonomy which identifies the granularity, selection scheme and selection trigger as the inner characteristics distinguishing current sampling proposals. This paper presents a new architecture of a geolocalization Android application based on artificial intelligence concept. Our approach considers two contributions: In the learning stage, the system provides an interval-type 2 Fuzzy logic (IT2 FL) processing of the collected radio signal strength (RSS) fingerprints from the Wi-Fi access points. The second contribution is on the output side, a fuzzy location indicator (FLI) is defined to characterize the map zones and rooms. FLIs are type 1 fuzzy sets that will ensure linguistic localization. Then, a Wang-Mendel algorithm is applied to generate the rule base mapping the RSS and their corresponding FLI. For the online stage, the algorithm is implemented and tested using an indoor localization mobile application through the Cynapsys company premises.
