The appearance of perineal infection can spread to the bladder or in the birth canal which can cause complications. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of sitz bath hydrotherapy interventions and infrared therapy in repairing perineal wounds. Methods & Materials: This study is a comparative study that compares two perineal wound care therapies, namely sitz bath hydrotherapy interventions with infrared therapy Perineal wound repair assessment is performed using the southampton wound rating scale. Assessment and intervention in perineal wounds is carried out twice a day for three consecutive days. The purposive sampling technique was carried out on 20 people with sitz bath hydrotherapy interventions, and 20 people with infrared therapy using Mann-Whitney statistics. Results: Statistically proven that group 1 interventions (cold sitz bath hydrotherapy) (p = 1.00) and group 2 (infra red therapy) (p = 1.00) on the first and second day did not have a significant effect on perineal wound healing . However, cold water sitz bath hydrotherapy intervention was significantly effective in improving the perineal injury process on the third day (p value = 0.037). Conclusion: The method of treating perineal wounds with cold sitz hydrotherapy can be used as a procedure for postpartum maternal perineal repair in health care and at home.","PeriodicalId":264619,"journal":{"name":"Nursing & Healthcare International Journal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125260179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Learning in clinical field is essential aspect of the nursing course. Exposure to the clinical setting helps the nursing students to gain competency in order to provide safe and effective care. Theory practice gap arises when theory is not translated into action. Transition from student to registered nurse has been described as the most stressful period due to the gap between theory taught in the classroom and clinical practice. Theory- practice gap impacts the professional image of nurses that affects their self-esteem, interrupting their personal development and professional growth. Factors associated with the gaps are related to training, teaching faculty and clinical learning environment. Professional skill, communication competency of the instructors and nurses are the influential human resources. Donabedian model may be considered to identify the gap. Simulation used for lab teaching translates theoretical learning into practice. Models of Collaboration will strengthen the bridge between hospital and teaching institutes.","PeriodicalId":264619,"journal":{"name":"Nursing & Healthcare International Journal","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128793914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A crude population measure of obesity is the body mass index (BMI), a person’s weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in metres). A person with a BMI of 30 or more is generally considered obese. A person with a BMI equal to or more than 25 is considered overweight. Obesity result from increased caloric intake that consistently exceeds caloric requirements. Change in life style practices including increasing consumption of oily, junk food, decreased physical activities, watching and playing video games for prolonged duration etc. are the most important factors in causing childhood obesity. Aim and Objectives: The aim of the study is to assess the knowledge of adolescent girls on prevention and management of obesity in selected schools. Approach and Design: The descriptive study approach was used. Sampling and Sampling Criteria: Simple Random Probabality sampling technique was used to select 120 adolescent girls from selected schools at Mysuru. Tools and Technique: Structured knowledge questionnaire was used to collect the data. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: Result revealed that majority 50(41.66%) adolescent girls had average knowledge, 40(33.33%) girls had good knowledge and 30(25%) girls had poor knowledge. Chi-square analysis revealed that the knowledge and personal variables are not significantly associated with their selected personal variables like age, class of studying, source of information and familial history of obesity. Conclusion: It was concluded that, adolescent girls have average knowledge; hence the knowledge was reinforced by providing information pamphlet to the adolescent girls that contains essential information regarding the causes, consequences, prevention and management of obesity.","PeriodicalId":264619,"journal":{"name":"Nursing & Healthcare International Journal","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131400972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to a HIMSS survey, about 66% of hospitals and healthcare systems have PHM or similar activity affecting the course of events. This is not being monitored by a number of “Accountable Care Organization (ACOs)” that are not associated with a hospital or health framework and that are also starting to create PHM opportunities. Many organizations anticipating a market shift towards valuable care follow key treatment approaches to design a patient-centered hospital. Some revolutionary healthcare facilities are also looking for clinically coordinated professionals and organizations to thrive and bring different healthcare providers across the care chain under one umbrella for the purpose of negotiation. Additionally, most healthcare facilities do not yet realize that PHM encompasses both medical and behavioral health services. Additionally, since healthcare only identifies 10% -25% of variables in individual healthcare, healthcare facilities must also employ social workers and produce organizations through online services. Given where most organizations are on their PHM journey, it is not surprising that exactly a quarter of PHM healthcare providers do not use IT systems designed specifically for this purpose. To date, most health systems use what is available for PHM applications in their EPHR (Electronic personal health record) - and that’s not enough today.","PeriodicalId":264619,"journal":{"name":"Nursing & Healthcare International Journal","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115801684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, some of the obstacles experienced by postpartum mothers at the beginning of breastfeeding can cause ineffective breastfeeding. One of the causes of the lack of fulfillment of breast milk in infants is less milk production on the first day after birth. The lack of milk production can cause is that it is difficult for the baby to gain weight. Some alternative efforts that can be done are to stimulate prolactin and oxytocin hormones in postpartum mothers by providing Breast Care and GB21 point acupuncture. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of breast care and GB 21 acupuncture in postpartum mothers in the first ten days of producing breast milk. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with Pretest-Posttest with Control Group. The number of samples studied was 90 respondents. Each group was breast care and 30 respondents. The intervention group was treated with acupuncture point GB 21 and 30 control patients. This research was conducted in February 2021 in Muara Enim Regency. The data were analyzed using the T-test and Anova test to see the effect of Breast Care and GB21 point acupuncture on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. The Breast Care action study results significantly increased the baby’s weight compared to the control group, as much as six times, while the administration of GB 21 acupuncture was twice that of the control group. This study concludes that Breast Care is one of the therapies that can increase breast milk production.","PeriodicalId":264619,"journal":{"name":"Nursing & Healthcare International Journal","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122032479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
