By adopting the $ell_1$-norm as the sparsity metric of the channel response, the channel estimation is formulated as a complex-valued convex optimization problem. A fast fixed point iteration algorithm is developed to solve the resultant complex-valued $ell_1$-minimization problem. The proposed fast channel estimation algorithm is easy to implement and has a low computational complexity of $O(Nlog N)$ per iteration with $N$ the signal length. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed fixed point algorithm.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130496762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the scenario where the server is the attestation-busy entity which answers attestation requirement frequently, the massive delay is inevitable. Without the modification to TPM, we propose Batch Integrity Report Protocol (BIRP) to overcome the performance bottleneck. B-IRP bundles these requirements in interval as a batch requirement, and creates the response messages for these requirements with one expensive TPM operation. Discussion shows that B-IRP has improved the performance without loss of security.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128148221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In LC-MAC, a super SYNC frame can travel across multiple hops and schedule the upcoming data packet delivery along the long-chain route. Each relay node sleeps and intelligently wakes up at a scheduled time, so that the upstream node can send the data packet to it and then it can immediately forwards the data packet to the downstream node. Our simulation results in ns-2 show that LC-MAC achieves significant improvement in end-to-end delivery delay over S-MAC without sacrificing energy efficiency or network throughput.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116574244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the DTV channel, echo delay often covers hundreds of symbols, by performance constrains, which leads to very large-scale equalizer with huge computational complexity. One consequence of the adaptive large-scale equalizer is that of very slow convergence. It is combined with error propagation, the inherent drawback of DFE, seriously deteriorating the performance of the receivers, especially in severe channels. In this paper, we apply the sub band processing to LMS DFE for sufficient speed of convergence, trying to open the eye diagram until the end of train sequence. It is ready for the decision-directed mode. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the performance of the equalizer, especially in severe channels.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114406507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of this paper is to assess the performance of LTE-R under realistic conditions using a hybrid high speed railway channel model involving WINNER II Channel Model that was refined and validated using measurements made within the WP1 Channel Model work package in Europe, high speed train channel model in 3GPP and large-scaled models based on a group of measurements on Zhengzhou-Xian passenger dedicated line in China. The paper presents a detailed evaluation of the BER and PSD for LTE-R suitably dimensioned for the high speed railway channel. The investigation includes analysis of the Doppler shift caused by the velocity of transmitter and receiver, the multipath interference due to reflections and diffractions from terrains in the radio service coverage area, and other serious impairing factors. The results show that LTE-R has promising potential to be used in a high speed railway environment.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115276008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some cooperative MAC based on opportunistic relaying have been proposed to enhance the system throughput. However, since the throughput is normally related to their energy consumption in distributed networks, it is important to examine the impact of opportunistic relaying on energy consumption. In this paper, we propose an energy analytical model for the cooperative MAC based on opportunistic relaying. Using the Modified Coop MAC (MCoopMAC) as a case, we have shown the efficacy of the proposed analytical model. Moreover, we find the optimum parameter value for opportunistic relaying and reveal the impact of opportunistic relaying on the energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121756818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most existed path selection algorithms assume that the data and ACK paths are independent, which does not hold for self-contention based wireless networks. This paper has analyzed self-contention's influence on throughput and indicated that throughput would be improved by ACK offloading. Furthermore, throughput of ACK offloading is analyzed and the upper bound of its throughput is given. Simulation and experiment results show that the throughput gain of ACK offloading is up to 150% and resilience to the increase of alternative ACK path's delay.","PeriodicalId":263741,"journal":{"name":"2011 Third International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-04-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131259627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
