PA offers a strategic view of the organization, including the understanding of people's behavior. This article presents a new probabilistic approach to map behavioral profiles. It collects self-perception of personality traits and classifies persons into four archetypes. Additionally, it computes behavior characteristics at different intensities, generating nine situational indicators, such as energy and motivation. Our approach also presents thirteen areas of talent and their relationship to the behavioral profiles. We also test the assertiveness of our proposed approach by statistically evaluating it considering the perspectives of employees, employees leaders, and expert psychologists. Experimental results show that our approach is effective, achieving 93.22% ± 3.06% agreement for observed employees, 90.80% ± 4.60% for leader observers, and 93.66% ± 1.28% for expert observers.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116204549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Enterprise Architecture (EA), especially the Business Architecture (BA) domain, can be a determinant in achieving business-IT alignment in this dynamic, fast-paced era. BA reference models are pivotal to enable agile and efficient high-level decision- making and further modelling. While previous research extensively studied the importance of Business Architecture in EA and discussed relevant business models and frameworks, many of such models were criticized as being incomprehensible, inconsistent, and infeasible to be used through EA adoption and digital transformation journey. Hence, in this paper, using the grounded theory method, and systems theory perspective in EA, we will introduce a novel, generic Business Architecture reference model. Our novel BA reference model, which also has some referrals to Security Architecture and Governance and Management Architecture, provides a more holistic, consistent, and rigorous reference model that is conceivable, practical, and can be utilized by different types of organizations, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study contributes to EA understanding by providing a novel, generic Business Architecture that can ensure business-IT alignment and direct the other EA domains' designs.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123687708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many existing data profiling solutions cannot perform multi-column feature analysis. On the other hand, machine learning algorithms, particularly decision trees, are effective at discovering non-linear and multivariate patterns within tabular data. In this study, we propose a framework that combines the interpretable pattern-mining capabilities of decision trees with time series forecasting to identify significant changes in data. We evaluate our framework on a real-world dataset from a leading telecommunications provider in Germany, which includes a known anomaly resulting from a faulty database entry. Our results indicate that our framework successfully detects data changes and provides interpretable descriptions for each anomaly, highlighting its relevancy for practitioners.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132187667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, systems supporting employees to self-manage their energy at work might be a straightforward instrument of sustainable health promotion and performance maintenance. However, assistance for energy self-management is still in its infancy and requires further research on energy trajectories, individual factors involved, and the implications for behavioral recommendations. In order to investigate day-to-day fluctuations, experience sampling is a common assessment instrument. In recent years, experience sampling researchers have begun to provide their participants personalized feedback reports. Mostly, however, feedback only serves to motivate participation and is therefore provided at the end of a study. Accordingly, the potential benefits inherent in the personalized feedback on phenomena still being investigated are understudied. Taking into account individual variability, we developed personalized feedback on energy trajectories and associated behaviors. This feedback is automatically created from the self-reported data of each participant during daily diaries. We conducted a comprehensive randomized controlled study across four weeks with a sample of 136 employees from diverse occupational contexts to evaluate the effectiveness of this personalized feedback. Our analyses show promising opportunities for utilizing feedback to benefit experienced energy and for deepening research in IT-supported energy self-management.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129194479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many organizations only focus their efforts on identifying the intended benefits, without conducting a proper follow-up through ongoing assessment or evaluation to ensure benefits realization. For this reason, this study aims to obtain an overview of the actual use of the assessment methods in benefits management, through a compilation and analysis of the literature following the Systematic Mapping Study methodology. The results and findings obtained show a significant gap in the interplay between the fields of assessment methods and benefits management. Based on this, we suggest opportunities for improvement, such as developing audit guides and frameworks for enhancing the monitoring of the benefits, strengthening the focus on external benefits of organizations, and for adapting benefits assessment to the changed perceptions of intended benefits, in line with continuous improvement.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115596826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve portfolio performance, a realistic view of the so-called health of the IT project portfolio is crucial. Nevertheless, portfolio risks can affect the success of a portfolio and the achievement of its strategic intentions. Several studies have been published on criteria that determine the health and risks of a project portfolio. However, current scientific literature lacks a theoretically grounded and practice-based understanding of how a specific occurring risk may affect the future health of an IT project portfolio. Therefore, this study designs and validates a reference model of relationships between portfolio risks and health. We argue that this reference model can help organizations assess and monitor their IT project portfolio risks with greater confidence.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127792606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The realistic simulation for VANETs is a challenging task as road networks have high mobility of vehicles. Many efforts have been made in the VANET simulation area to meet the need for coupling network and road traffic simulation. However, none of them permits simulation based on IoT infrastructure. In this work, we are bridging the IoT simulation with the traffic simulation by proposing a novel simulator, Simulator-Bridger. To achieve this, our proposed simulator bridges IoTSim-OsmosisRES with Sumo, a traffic simulator, where the former had to be extended to support mobility vehicles. We substantiate the suitability of our proposed approach by showing how state-of-the-art IoT simulators can manage communication-network traffic information as generated by a real-life urban mobility scenario through VANET simulators.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"264 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129112481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The guideline VDI 2206 provides a V-model to organize the engineering disciplines. It emphasizes the importance of validation in CPPS engineering but provides limited guidance on the up-front specification and validation of test scenarios. This paper introduces the Production Test Scenario Validation (PTSV) approach to validate to what extent a multi-view CPPS design model and associated data sources from production engineering and operation represent the concepts used in test scenarios. The PTSV (i) elicits concepts in pre- and post-conditions of production test scenarios, (ii) maps these concepts to a multi-view CPPS design model, such as a production asset network, and (iii) identifies mismatches between production test scenarios and CPPS design models, such as missing model elements or data sources required for validation. We evaluated the effectiveness and efficiency of the approach in a feasibility study on a real-world welding line for joining car parts. The results indicate that the PTSV is feasible and effective for improving the capability to measure and analyze outcomes of test scenarios in CPPS engineering according to the VDI 2206.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"261 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133531172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, one of the essential principles of information systems development methodologies is the Principle of Modeling. This principle, expressing that the information system is always a model of the Real World business system, persists despite the abrupt development of new and popular approaches and methods that often, unfortunately, cannot be considered an evolutionary step forward. Current ideas like the digital transformation or business-IT alignment that dismantle the border between a business system and its information system make the importance of this principle even stronger. In the paper, the comprehensive four-dimensional information model of the business system is defined based on the MMABP Philosophical Framework for Business System Modeling. The two basic phenomena that form the business system and two points of view on the business system are explained together with their manifestation in the modeling methods in informatics. Finally, we also shortly discuss emerging challenges for these methods following the framework.","PeriodicalId":263266,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE 25th Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134504034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
