In a situation where there is a need of a suddenly build network and exchange of data, a trust establishment mechanism plays a vital role. In developing a trust implementing system, the traditional methods such as cryptography and centralized certificate based solutions are ill-suited due to the lack of processing power and energy in mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a trust mechanism based on the predictive theories of probability, Markov Chains and Hidden Markov Models.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132233040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The depth map are used in various fields such as the robot binocular vision, 3D recognition system, 3D model reconstruction and so on. Because the initial depth estimation method cannot generate good results, most of the methods will accompany a refinement process afterwards. The aim of this paper is to improve the quality of initial depth map estimation without any depth refinement in real time via GPU. This paper proposes a real-time effective stereo matching using adaptive shape window on compute unified device architecture (CUDA). The proposed method estimate depth map by cost aggregation over shape-adaptive regions and generate the accurate initial depth map among the real-time methods by evaluating in Middlebury stereo benchmark.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133478964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For example, shortest path first algorithm is usually adopted to search for the best route between a source and a destination for packet transmission over a network. In that case, we add up the distance of every segment along each of the available routes and choose the one with the least value. Path planning problems of this sort often use evaluation functions that are commutative in nature. However, in case our objective is to plan a biking or driving route that is safe and / or fun, ordinary evaluation functions, especially commutative ones, usually fail to resolve the issue properly. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose an un-conventional noncommutative path planning strategy as well as algorithm to address the problem in a more efficient manner.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124061584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leaning on the durability and the longevity, such enterprises can accumulated their credits and stabilize the business. Consequently, the span variable of the total business-running time or the variable of growth rate and the price variable of stock exhibit a negative-proportion relationship. This is the reason why we set the starting point here to analyze the variability of stock prices. This research uses data originated from the TAIEX, NIKKEI225, and S&P 500 as the observing targets. As a comparative purpose, we then analyze how the individual stock price was affected by the number of the sustainable years as its independent variable. We use realistic TAIEX weekly data obtained from Taiwan economic database which contains 786 enterprises to do this research. Analyzed data set ranges from 2000/1/1 to 2011/06/30. A total of 365565 records were used. Our result authenticates the speculation. All three countries: Taiwan, Japan, and United States all share the same phenomenon: two variables have a negative slope when plotted on the chart. It implies the longer an enterprise stays; the more stable it is. In other words, the fluctuation of stock's prices will be less significant under such circumstances. However, the fluctuation of stock's price in Taiwan is largest among thee countries, especially for those of enterprises whose age is less than 20 years.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117045525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The extensive use of the technology made it easier to keep-up with the dynamical nature of life styles and accomplish daily requirements. When it comes to transportation, personal transportation has become a more popular. The main issue when we use our own transportation is the limitation of parking areas and there availability even though we find plenty of parking stations available. It is customary in peak hours the call centers in car parks are really busy and reserving parking slots has become impractical. This paper discusses not only the idea of implementing a GSM/GPRS framework to function an autonomous FIFO (First In First Out) based real time reservation mechanism for the dynamic vehicle parking environments but also has implemented a prototype of it and studied the adaptability of the algorithm in the prototype.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131158341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

KBS is however known to be labor intensive in its construction in the knowledge acquisition and elicitation phase. Researchers have tried to overcome this hindrance for more than four decades. Automatic creation of a knowledge base (KB) content is still a research topic of interest. In this paper, we propose the design of a framework that not only automatically creates a KB, but also constructs the inference and reasoning engine of the KBS. The KB content is elicited and transferred from the data mining model, whereas the engine (or shell) of the KBS is created from the decision rules. We demonstrate a case study in student loan payment decision using the visualized tools KNIME and WIN-PROLOG to generate a data mining model and a KBS shell, respectively.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114216131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to popularity and the demand, number of MOOCs increases at a higher rate. However, not all the MOOCs meet the goals of user. In other terms, not all the MOOCs are effective. It is vital to identify the factors affect to an effective MOOC. Since the MOOC concept is new, student's behaviors and requirements are different than a typical eLearning course. Hence we used Grounded Theory (GT) methodology in order to identify these factors. We found 10 dimensions which affects to an effective MOOC; namely interactivity, collaboration, pedagogy, motivation, network of opportunities/ future directions, assessment, learner support, technology, usability and content. This research explains the process of GT and the results dimensions will assist in designing and implementing an effective MOOC.","PeriodicalId":262562,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Ubi-Media Computing (UMEDIA)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123455792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students may miss some important information while reading the book. If someone can remind them the potential important annotations, students might get better academic performance later in terms of having better marks for written exams, quizzes, and other learning activities. This research implements an online platform which can help students annotate reading activities with different ways. The online platform can also give students annotation suggestions according their annotation behaviours. On the other hand, teachers can use this platform to review students' annotations in order to discover students' potential learning problems. The platform can also help teachers cluster students into different groups according to their annotation behavious.
