The analysis of advantages and disadvantages of existing methods for extraction the envelope of a real signal for continuous and discrete cases are given. The efficiency of the choice of determining the conjugate signal by Hilbert transform method is substantiated. The problem of determining Hilbert envelope for real, discrete and finite signals by the methods of discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and discrete-time Fourier transform (DTFT) is considered. The reason for the large relative errors in the measurement of Hilbert envelopes by DFT method is revealed. A new effective method and an effective method for measuring the envelope of a real, discrete, finite signal is developed, which reduces the relative error of its measurement by an order of magnitude and reduces by an order of magnitude the computational cost and the necessary memory for implementing the method as well. The theoretical results obtained in the work are confirmed by the results of numerical modeling.","PeriodicalId":262164,"journal":{"name":"2020 22th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing and its Applications (DSPA)","volume":"122 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120842321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm is based on the initial multi-threshold processing of the original monochrome image, which creates a set of binary layers. On their basis, using the percolation effect, a three-dimensional hierarchical structure is constructed that allows solving the optimization problem, i.e. choosing the best binary layer for each object in terms of the geometric criterion used. The key idea of the algorithm is that the solution is based on a posteriori information about the properties of objects that can be selected from each binary layer. Using this information, you can successfully solve adaptive selection problems, while maintaining the shape of each object of interest, despite the nonstationary background. In the test problem of detection against the background of Gaussian noise, the use of selection provides a gain in the signal-to-noise ratio of at least 6 dB. The results of selection of objects on typical noisy model and real television image show the efficiency and effectiveness of selection of compact (spotted) and elongated objects of interest with minimal distortion of their borders at a fairly low signal-to-noise ratio.","PeriodicalId":262164,"journal":{"name":"2020 22th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing and its Applications (DSPA)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127219680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been shown that the distributed allocation of the subcarriers of the OFDM-IM subblocks provides a power gain of about 8 dB, but does not produce the diversity effect, and also that a time-frequency resource equivalent to one OFDM-IM subblock is sufficient for pilot signal allocation. Power losses due to imperfect CSI estimation are approximately 0.5 dB for concentrated allocation of subblocks and 1.2 dB for distributed allocation. Proposed analytical BEP formula is based on the maximum-correlation pairs of OFDM-IM subblocks augmented by pilot signal, it slightly exceeds BEP obtained by simulations.","PeriodicalId":262164,"journal":{"name":"2020 22th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing and its Applications (DSPA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123856717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is based on pitch-invariant convolutions on frequency axis of amplitude spectrum. On the example of voice activity detection, it is shown that the use of the proposed features makes it possible to get rid of excessive information content in the input data due to pitch invariance, which can significantly simplify neural network models, as well as reduce the amount of data needed for training. The proposed voice activity detection model is robust to a wide range of noises.
