These applications require reliable wireless communications even in scenarios with very high vehicle density, where these networks are primarily interference-limited. Given the uncertainties associated with current simulation models, particularly their interference models, it is critical to experimentally validate network performance for such scenarios. Towards this goal, we present a systematic, large-scale experimental study of packet delivery rates in a dense environment of 802.11 transmitters. We show that even with 100 transmitters in communication range with a frame size of 128 bytes and a bit-rate of 6Mbps, (a) most receivers can decode over 1500 pps in a saturated network, which corresponds to a packet delivery rate of 45% and (b) the mean packet delivery rate, for 10 pps per node workload that emulates vehicular safety applications, is about 95%. Most approaches proposed recently applied schemes in the routing protocol to provide QoS and paid no attention to the MAC design. Actually, the ability to provide QoS heavily depends on how well the resources are managed in the MAC layer. In our work, we try to focus on the design of MAC protocol and combine it with AODV to provide QoS. The QoS requirement of a certain session can be satisfied if all nodes in the route reserve slots with the corresponding frame length. It is convenient to manage slot assignment information and select a slot with a certain frame length in a binary tree structure. The proposed scheme is a kind of closed-loop multiuser MIMO applications applicable to both in the uplink and downlink with a small amount of overhead to construct downlink preamble which is inevitable for the mobile station to determine feedback information which shall be reported to base station. Based on the feedback from multiple users, BS exploits benefits from multiuser diversity by scheduling and implements SDMA using directional beamforming with half-wavelength spaced array antenna. The main novelty consists in the exploitation of web browsers as clients, thanks to the availability of Javascript and AJAX. The described solution has two main advantages: it is client- free, so no additional programs have to be installed to perform the computation, and it requires low CPU usage, so clientside computation is no invasive for users. The solution is developed using AJAX technology embedding a pseudoclient into a web page that hosts che computation. While users browse the hosting web page, computation takes place resolving single subproblems and sending the solution to the serverside part of the system. The new architecture has been tested through various performance metrics by implementing two examples of distributed computing, the RSA crack and the correlation index between genetic data sets. It addresses the complex problem of how the Radio Access Network (RAN) should be optimally equipped to accommodate traffic growth (and fluctuations in traffic patterns in broader terms) over time, while fulfilling the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of a Mobile Network Operator. A bottom-up approach is used, i.e. first it evaluates the required resources over the air-interface; then the base stations hardware resources, and finally, the transport/ backhaul domain dimensioning. This methodology provides the rapid and repeatable dimensioning, which is required to implement just-in-time provisioning processes, and support the network cost modeling an operator requires to quickly model quality of service and call plan strategy. In comparison to the well-known subspace algorithms such as MUSIC, the proposed method has several advantages. First, in contrast to MUSIC, no forward/backward spatial smoothing for the covariance matrix is needed in the case of coherent sources. Second, the proposed method is more suitable for realtime implementation since it only requires one or a few snapshots in order to provide an accurate DOA estimation, whereas MUSIC requires a large number of snapshots. Third, the proposed method exploits the eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) of a real-valued covariance matrix thereby reducing the computational cost by at least a factor of four. In this paper, we develop a new algorithm to mitigate the NLOS errors in location estimation by distributed multi-antenna. Utilizing the relativity between TOAs obtained from different antennas in a multi-antenna array, the positions of scatterers that cause the NLOS propagation, as well as the distances between mobile stations (MSs) and scatterers, are estimated. Then with appropriate location algorithm, the locations of MSs are obtained with information of scatterers. This model is no longer applicable for the HSDPA as the performance of fast scheduling and adaptive modulation and coding depends on the small-scale fading effects. This leads to the problem on how to produce reliable statistics for the long-term system-level behavior when small-scale fading effects are not negligible. The problem of the MIMO DFE design is formulated as a set of linear equations with multiple right-hand sides (RHS) evolving in time. By applying an adaptive modified conjugate gradient algorithm, originally proposed for a single linear system, to the problem at hand, we arrive at an equalizer of performance identical to RLS, numerically robust, but of higher computational cost. To reduce its complexity, two updating strategies of the equalizer filters are derived based on Galerkin projection in time and space respectively.
