He occupies a very important symbolic place within the national star system, and even in the country’s public arena. In this article, I go back to his television career to explain how, in his long career, there were two key products that helped to consolidate his persona, and at the same time allowed him to turn it around: the sitcom Mi cuñado (Carlos Berterreix, 1993-1996) and the feature film Nueve reinas (Fabián Bielinsky, 1999). I propose that his star text was shaped by the tension between the stereotype of the chanta (the rogue) –of long tradition and popularity in Argentine arts– and the measured middle-class young man. Through a textual analysis of the work, it is examined how the main characters, two cousins ​​who are dedicated to theft and crime, represent the Creole liveliness, social resentment and corruption that are some of the characteristic features of Ecuadorian society. Likewise, the film is contextualized with the political and economic scenario of the country at the end of the nineties, marked by the banking crisis, dollarization and government instability. This essay focuses on exploring these connections and analyzing how contemporary northern Mexican cinema has employed historical tools and resources to understand and reflect upon the region's development. This environment possesses unique characteristics that have been addressed both explicitly in historical works and implicitly in films that contemplate memory and the passage of time. The foundation of this proposal is a directory of contemporary works of northern Mexican cinema. The objective is to emotionally connect the brand or product with the user. In this process, the \"performativity\" potential of images is used to define and communicate complex emotional qualities that are difficult to express through verbal language. Mostly, images are searched on the Internet and classified through hegemonic iconographic and iconological patterns. This article proposes to activate a critical look at the hybrid co-creation process that is generated between human and machine in the search for images on the net. La investigación es cualitativa. Se usa, como método, el análisis de contenido; y como técnica de investigación, la observación. Los resultados de la investigación indicaron que, las mujeres de estudio, aunque tienen variedad de color de ojos y cabello, todas son de piel blanca; incluso la mayoría solo usa el maquillaje natural para diferentes ocasiones. Por otro lado, la fuerza en los personajes femeninos es casi inexistente. Se realizó un análisis exhaustivo de secuencias seleccionadas del documental, permitiendo una clasificación del montaje según su tipo y modalidad. Los enfoques de Francesco Casetti y Federico Di Chio, así como de Sergei Eisenstein, junto con un análisis comparativo basado en una entrevista a la cineasta productora del documental, nos permitieron desentrañar por completo su estructura. Este enfoque no solo explora la influencia de estos elementos en la representación cultural, la estética y la comunicación en el cine documental ecuatoriano, sino que también revela la riqueza artística, el mensaje cultural y la singularidad narrativa de esta película. In them, youth and their customs are central. The protagonists seek a life of pleasures but find tragic destinies. The films present sexuality, violence, rock & roll, social gatherings, fashions, and drugs as threats to their lives and social order. Reflect the conservative perspectives of the time, which viewed with concern the youth getting involved in renewing activities. The analysis revolves around the constitution of a cinematographic poetics linked to a Marxist aesthetic. The principle of movie montage is the essential component of his cinematographic poetics. The Marxist aesthetic falls on what Alberto Híjar Serrano called rough communism, and some techniques of the Brechtian theory of distancing can also be appreciated. We consider the prison to be the key space-concept of the film in which the complex reformulation of sexual, religious, and economic subjectivities is concentrated. Within the broader theoretical framework of modernity, we establish a dialogue between the history of gender and sexuality, reception studies, critical theories of spectatorship and the recent critical revaluation of exploitation cinemas.
