In this regard, there are inconsistencies in some aspects, while some are yet to be explored. This study aimed to obtain a detailed account of the fears, beliefs and practices of pregnant women and their associated factors in Saudi Arabia regarding their sexual life during pregnancy and after birth. Methods: A convenience sample of pregnant women (n=439) attending antenatal clinics at purposefully selected hospitals completed a self-report questionnaire of her fears, beliefs and practices regarding her sexual life during pregnancy. This was a cross-sectional study performed by a team of researchers at King Khalid University Hospital from August 2021 to August 2022. Results The majority of the pregnant women recorded • A decrease in libido • That Kegel exercises improved sexual function • That vaginoplasty is important after vaginal delivery • Fear of dyspareunia, vaginal laxity, and changes in the sexual relationship • Dependence on unverified sources for information regarding female sexual issues. A large proportion of the participants • Thought that delivery-related vaginal laxity needed medical consultation • Thought that vaginal laxity was associated with episiotomy • Relied on traditional herbs for managing sexual health issues. Among pregnant women in Saudi Arabia, sexual health-related fears, attitudes and practices were associated with age, marital status and educational level, and participants relied on past experience and social media for information. Conclusion: Decreased libido and painful intercourse are common among pregnant women regardless of parity. Sexual health concerns and education should be part of antenatal care visits.","PeriodicalId":261631,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Gynecology Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"7 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140359331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism in patients with preeclampsia and normotensive pregnant women ending their pregnancy at Enrique Garces Hospital. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted between February 2020 and 2022. The study included pregnant women between 20 and 35 years of age, with singleton pregnancies in the third trimester. The women were in labor and diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism and preeclampsia in the current pregnancy. The women underwent blood sampling. Also, the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (fT4) levels were measured by chemiluminescence. Results: A total of 639 women were evaluated; Among these women 509 (79.66%) were normotensive, 137 (26.92%) had subclinical hypothyroidism, and 372 (73.08%) did not have subclinical hypothyroidism, 130 (20.34%) had preeclampsia, 34 (26.15%) of them with subclinical hypothyroidism and 96 (73.85%) not having subclinical hypothyroidism. The overall prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism was 26.76%. In the normotensive group the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism was 0.2691 with a 95 % CI (0.2306, 0.3076) and in the preeclampsia group it was 0.2615 with a 95 % CI (0.1859, 0.3370). Conclusions: A high prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism was identified among pregnant women, which often goes undiagnosed in the early stages of pregnancy due to the lack of thyroid profile screening protocols for all pregnant women. Regarding the TSH cut-off levels 3mIUI/L there was no statistically significant difference of subclinical hypothyroidism among normotensive pregnant women and preeclampsia women, as literature suggests that TSH levels above 4mIU/L are associated with hypertensive diseases","PeriodicalId":261631,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Gynecology Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"21 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139590958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In methods, for this systematic review, the keywords (“preeclampsia” and “placenta”) were used, four databases were searched: SciELO, Lilacs, Google Scholar and Embase. In the results obtained, it is observed that, of the Of the 86 registries identified, 6 were eligible. Other findings that, due to their frequency and maternal and fetal adverse outcomes, are very important: microscopic and macroscopic alterations, firstly, excess fibrin, secondly, abundant syncytial knots and, secondly, abundant syncytial knots. Thirdly, heart attacks. Within the macroscopic alterations of the placenta we found: low-weight placentas and finally, the evaluation of the methodological certainty of the six articles that entered the SR; they reached a score of >70%, classifying them as “sufficiently reported” articles. In conclusion, we say that the anatomopathological alterations that occur in the placenta lead to a dysfunctional, hypoxic and ischemic placenta, causing PE and maternal, fetal and neonatal complications.","PeriodicalId":261631,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Gynecology Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"30 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139591152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design: Canadian task force II-2 clinical study Setting: Urban clinical research center,38 patients were enrolled in the study Materials and Methods: A retrospective Canadian Task Force II-2 clinical study design conducted on women aged 22-55 years in an urban clinical research center. 38 symptomatic patients underwent hysteroscopic myomectomy after injection of dilute vasopressin (10U in 100mL Normal Saline). Around 5-8 mL was injected into the center of myomas using an ovum pick up needle, and the study was carried out between 2018-2021. Measured parameters were surgical operative time, and the secondary outcomes were related to fluid volume, visual clarity, and pregnancy outcome in patients with infertility. Results: The Wamsteker Grading System adopted by the European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy was used to classify the myomas. The mean time of myomectomy was 22 minutes (normal range: 15-40 minutes), with a median fluid deficit of 700 mL (normal range: 500- 900mL); one patient had more than 1000 mL fluid deficit which was detected immediately and managed efficiently. This patient had the longest surgical operative time of 40 minutes with 10 multiple myomas between 1 and 4 cm in size. The diagnosis of the size, number, and grade of submucosal myomas was made by transvaginal ultrasound. In our study it was observed that the use of vasopressin injection during hysteroscopic myomectomy resulted in significantly reduced surgical operative time, minimal fluid deficit, lesser bleeding with a clear surgical field, and improved pregnancy outcome in infertility patients. Conclusion: Injection of vasopressin during hysteroscopic myomectomy was found to be effective in decreasing surgical operative time, improvement of visual clarity, thereby improving pregnancy outcomes in patients presenting with infertility.","PeriodicalId":261631,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Gynecology Research Reviews & Reports","volume":"115 33","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139134257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
