The design of this research was a pre-experimental research with pre-test and post-test design. The result of the dat was analized by using SPSS 22 for windows programe. The sample was 26 students of the tenth graders (IPS-X) of MA NW Rempung in school year 2017-2018. The instrument was a subjective test in form of writing test. The result was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t - T e st to proved whether the alternative hypothesis was accepted or not. The present researcher found that the mean score of pre-test was 5 9 . 62 while the mean score of post-test was 75.15 . In paired-sample t-test there was a significant difference in the mean scores between pre-test and the post-test, t (df=25) = 44.16 at p = .000, it means that the null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. It implies that Tourism Picture was significantly effective in teaching writing of descriptive text for the tenth graders of MA NW Rempung in school year 2017-2018.","PeriodicalId":261389,"journal":{"name":"VELES Voices of English Language Education Society","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123619739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis involved chapter eight in the EFL textbook of grade ten. Meanwhile, the six features of a task proposed by Ellis (2003) were used to analyze the tasks. The findings revealed two points; (1) none of the fifteen tasks in the chapter employed the six crucial features of a task, (2) all the fifteen tasks in the chapter were potential to change to be more task-like. The implication of this study was to provide insight to EFL material developers to be more aware of the task features, and to offer suggestions to EFL education practitioners in redesigning existed tasks to be more task-like.","PeriodicalId":261389,"journal":{"name":"VELES Voices of English Language Education Society","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122308080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pre-experimental design was applied for this research since it had experimental group only without control group. The sample of this study was 70 of 120 students. The data was collected through a pre-test and a post-test which were given to the EFL students.To analyze the data, the author applied SPSS 22 for Windows. After submitting the data to paired samples t-test, it was found that there was a significant difference in the mean scores between the pre-test and post-test, which was t (df=18) = 10.550 at p = .000 which lower than 0.05 as the standard significance level in SPSS at two tails. In short, team word webbing technique was significantly effective in writing skillfor the EFL students. Having considered the process and the result of this study, he author suggestedthat English teachers use team word webbing in teaching writing in language learning because it helps student to express their ideas and can become more creative in teaching learning process especially in writing skill.","PeriodicalId":261389,"journal":{"name":"VELES Voices of English Language Education Society","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124016800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
