The tasks performed by smartphone are (i) extraction of the PhotoPlethysmoGram (PPG) signal from a frame sequence acquired by the integrated camera, and (ii) processing it by Artificial Neural Network for the evaluation of the BP. The PPG signal is evaluated by analyzing the volumetric blood variation of the fingertip on the frame sequence. Successively, parameters characterizing the pulses of the PPG signal are sent to the Fit Forward Neural Network for the simultaneously evaluation of the systolic and the diastolic BP. The validation of the results is performed by comparing them with the ones obtained by the Ambulatory Blood Pressure monitor ABP Spacelabs 90207. Preliminary experimental results show useful information to address the future research devoted to reduce the maximum error.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131011633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It presents some developments that were elaborated in the meantime (chapter II), but also some totally new ideas (chapter III). In chapter II it is shown that PERT systematically underestimates the real risk. Therefore it is very dangerous to rely on PERT's results. Chapter III deals with the buffers of individual tasks. The main result of this part is that you have to understand that if distributions or densities are introduced in the risk management process everything has to be described by distributions, even the buffers of the individual activities.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133366974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The country is now ranked third in the world in production of quality ICT specialists and regenerative medicine initiatives. In order to promote Poland's innovations globally, next generation infrastructure improvements are required that must address state and international concerns in the health care industry. This is the goal of “Prescription for Poland” program initiated by Data Techno Park Ltd., Wroclaw company established for development e-Health infrastructure and technologies. e-Health technologies understood as new medical diagnostic tools and procedures and as advanced patient monitoring systems using sensors and data transmission can become Polish “smart specialization” in new European financing perspective 2014-2020. Identification of smart specialization nationally and regionally as well as focus of support on them will be an ex ante condition for all European countries if Cohesion Fund will be spend for innovation and development programmes.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130085834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays it becomes more common to include also psychological effects on human body, because a mental state of a person can affect the way he or she behaves and approaches problems. This paper describes a class which shows how human body can be affected by its state [1],[3],[4]. The aim is make students realize, that people's mental state can influence state of body's function. It is important, because the psychological state can affect decision making skills and performance. They do not only decorate buildings but also transform them into interactively usable platforms. However they usually are either only temporary or displaying only static content respectivly only one specific application. Our main goal was to design a software and hardware infrastructure enabling us to run multiple interactive applications on our façade using different combinations of the display technologies provided by the façade. We implemented a flexbile distributed system with a launcher, website and different configurable output devices to specify and run applications on our media façade. Proving the functionallity of the system we implemented and tested different example applications.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125490575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Precisely, Parameter Sweep Experiments (PSE) allow these kind of users to perform simulations by running the same scientific code with different input data, which results in many CPU-intensive jobs and thus computing environments such as Clouds must be used. We describe two Cloud schedulers based on two popular swarm intelligence (SI) techniques, namely ant colony optimization (ACO) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), to allocate virtual machines (VM) to physical Cloud resources. The main performance metrics to study are the number of serviced users by the Cloud -i.e., the number of Cloud users that the scheduler is able to successfully serve- and the total number of created VMs, in dynamic (non-batch) scheduling scenarios. Simulated experiments performed by using CloudSim and real PSE job data suggest that our schedulers, through a weighted metric, perform competitively with respect to the number of serviced users and achieve an effective assignment of VMs compared to a scheduler based on Genetic Algorithms.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133183286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On one hand, most methods usually perform an early projection of the hyperspectral information onto a less informative two dimensional representation. On the other hand, there is usually very little and dubious ground truth available, making it very hard to train and tune appropriate segmentation and classification strategies. This paper describes an approach to address these problems by considering the application of evolved cellular automata (CA) over the hyperspectral cube in order to produce homogeneous regions that allow to easily perform the segmentation task. This homogenization process is carried out without resorting to any form of projection while the CA is operating, thus preserving this way the spectral character ofthe information in the segmentation process. We also show that the evolution process we propose for obtaining the rules can be carried out over RGB images and the resulting automata used to process multidimensional hyperspectral images successfully, thus avoiding the problem of lack of appropriately labeled ground truth images. The procedure has been tested over synthetic and real hyperspectral images and the results are very competitive.","PeriodicalId":260349,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS)","volume":"36 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132836236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
