This paper is focusing on the 3D reconstruction of synapses which is a branch of micro reconstruction of brain. Having analysed the structure of synapses, we first detect and locate them in serial sections with cascade AdaBoost algorithm, then optimize the shape of synapses by constructing suitable fitting functions and segment them with morphology processing method. Taking the connection of adjacent sections and synaptic extensibility in space into consideration, we complete the reconstruction of synapses which is based on the segmentation in serial sections. Actually all our works are based on the registration of serial sections.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121146125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Behavioral results showed that response to bimodal audiovisual stimulus was significantly slower when an audiovisual stimulus was accompanied by a simultaneous visual cue than it was not accompanied. The fMRI results showed left premotor cortex was activated by unimodal visual stimulus accompanied with simultaneous visual cue. This result indicated a simultaneous visual cue provided reliable spatial information to visual stimulus, resulting in intramodal visual integration. Left inferior frontal gyrus, letft somatosensory association cortex and left supramarginal cortex were significantly activated by bimodal audiovisual stimulus accompanied with simultaneous visual cue. These activation regions indicated different roles were need for multisensory integration network. This study provides potential theory support for developing brain computer interface device or wearable intelligent device.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116150439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared with Kalman filter, the weighted moving average filter has simpler algorithm structure, higher computational efficiency. Its convergence time is shorter than Kalman filter. When the two filters were applied to frequency data of Cs clocks, they have consistent filtering performance. The preliminary results show the weighted moving average filter can enhance the stability of local atomic clock ensemble time scale, especially the short- and middle-term stability.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115860965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, based on the dynamic characteristics of the STS motion, a novel piecewise biomechanical function for the STS task modeling is proposed. A Fuzzy PID control strategy based on finite state machine (FSM) is researched for STS motion tracking and STS stability analyzing. Considered the performance of PID controller entirely depending on the adjustment and optimization of the control parameters, a fuzzy controller is used to real-time adjust the parameters to achieve good control effect. The simulation results show that this method has high precision and fast response, and it has certain feasibility.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"141 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120989527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To solve the problems of lack of depth information in recognition based on 2D image and no enough obvious features used for recognition based on 3D point cloud, a novel approach of identifying individuals using 3D point clouds matching of finger vein and contour is proposed in this paper. A pair of vein images of a finger are captured under Near Infrared(NIR) light using our binocular vision device. The edge and vein contours of finger are extracted as features used for describe finger vein and then 3D point cloud of finger vein and contour is reconstructed though binocular vision technique. At last, personal identification based on matching results between template and reconstructed 3D point cloud using Iterative Closest Point(ICP) algorithm can be achieved. The experimental results show that proposed method can generate more discriminative features to represent 3D model of finger vein and contour so that the accuracy of matching is enhanced.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121044589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method can provide basic data support for rail vehicles' operation security and provide guidance for the optimization of maintenance strategy. Firstly, rolling bearings of rail vehicles was briefly introduced. And then, three specific steps of the proposed life prediction method were described in detail, which including sample data collection, parameter estimation and life prediction. Finally, the experiment was carried out which used vibration data and failure event data of the rolling bearings' full life cycle, and the results show that the correlation coefficient between PHM outputs and the targets was greater than 0.9. The experiment results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed residual life prediction approach based on PHM.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122855379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the landing-impact process and the interaction between lander and regolith is researched using the discrete element simulation. Firstly, the landing-impact model is established based on discrete element theory and the mechanical properties of lunar regolith. Many simulations in different working conditions are conducted to study the vertical impact. Secondly, to study the process of landing-impact, dynamic response, stress distribution and motion in a certain condition are studied and the phenomenon of landing impact is explained. Finally, the influence of velocity and mass on the landing-impact is summarized through contrastive analysis. The research in this paper provides reference for the design of lander buffering mechanism and the establishment of the theoretical model.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131520311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To get big sonar array aperture and then to achieve high angular resolution with few sensor elements, sparse random array is introduced. To address the coherent problem of incident signals that radiate from targets, the CS (compressive sensing) based method is proposed to estimate the bearing angles of sonar targets, due to the compressive property of far field target signal. Contrast with the conventional designed sonar array, the new designed sonar array and proposed DOA (direction of arrival) estimation algorithm can achieve high angular resolution and de-correlation ability for incident signals from far-field sonar targets.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127668030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we design and implement an embedded controller, which is made up of two parts: upper layer ARM controller and lower layer DSP controller. The ARM controller, integrated with a WIFI module to facilitate remote control by PC, is responsible for gait planning and sensors information processing. The DSP controller is mainly designed to receive real-time control commands from ARM controller via serial peripheral interfaces (SPI) and communicate with motor drivers through Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. To achieve fairly accurate control of the quadruped robot, four force sensitive resistors (FSRs) and a gyroscope are used on the quadruped robot. The developed embedded controller has been employed to control the quadruped robot Biodog, built at our lab. Using Hopf-based Central Pattern Generator (CPG) algorithm, we conduct experiments on the quadruped robot Biodog to test the embedded controller. The results demonstrate the efficiency of our controller for the rhythmic quadruped locomotion.","PeriodicalId":260197,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127795108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
