Specifically to autonomous driving applications these tasks are related to systems awareness and are direct linked to the decision process. This research proposes an architecture for environment analysis and perception with strait forward replicable design. This architecture is structured in three parts: input data, environment analysis and environment perception. Starting from a disparity map the architecture employs different representations that allow for ground area and obstacles detection. For free space assessment a polar grid is built allowing for better interpretation of the free space direction. In the end obstacle classification adds new information to the obstacles position and orientation. Classification is done using existing trained neural classifiers.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131201845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This raises the problem of designing technology accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities such as visual impairments. Assistive technology for visually impaired people requires specific approaches in its design due to the fact that the main focus is not on the visual aspects. The game industry has concentrated most of its resources on developing games for the regular community, leaving people with visual impairments only a few options. This paper presents the status of the applications and games for the blind, identifies the main challenges and the perspectives for development.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130551956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ever expanding network of smart meters allows for a more accurate estimation of the state of the water distribution systems, at the same time requiring modern data processing solutions. By fusion with the more traditional approach in this field of research it is possible to enhance the existing capabilities for network analysis and to extend the algorithms to the level of cognitive abilities that form a basis for more efficient decision support system. In this paper we extend the fault sensitivity analysis for water distribution systems with the insights provided by state-of-the-art Machine Learning algorithms for data clustering and anomaly detection.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"186 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131893744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One way to address this problem is the use of computational methods to process social media data that provides valuable insight into individuals’ everyday activity. Particularly, there has been a focus on studying the language of mental health in textual content, as word choice, discourse structure and style have significant psychological implications. This paper aims to quantify the language of mental disorders in a set of posts and comments collected from a Romanian medical forum and explore illness specific characteristics through classification tasks. Results suggest that both vocabulary use and form of textual expression are largely discriminative for individual mental disorders.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115648478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main idea is to propose a selective scrambling scheme to control the access to multiple sensitive regions in HDR images. The scrambling process is performed in the frequency domain, in conjunction with JPEG- HDR engine. More specifically, the scrambling method is a subfield of an image encryption which consists in permuting the signs of part of quantized DCT coefficients using a sequence of pseudo-random numbers. To guarantee a high security level, the Rivest, Shamir and Adleman RSA asymmetric encryption algorithm is used to generate a pair of (public/private) keys. Indeed, a pseudo-random binary sequence is determined based on the public key which will be encrypted using the private one. Experimental results show that our scrambling scheme is able to effectively protect the multiple Region Of Interest (ROI) with negligible decrease of compression performance and low computational resource requirement.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"197 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117093963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The major challenge is to consume large amounts of sensor data. We propose a system that is based on the fact that both geographic data and the computation are intelligently placed in cloud data centers. Our solution is scheduling virtual machines and data sources across a large cloud data center. The VM and data placement solution is simulated by simple physical particles that interact in various ways and at various times. Particle model attraction and repulsion force models are discussed.This solution has the major advantage over the existing scheduling solutions based on Ant or Particle Swarm optimization because it has a faster execution time, reduced complexity, it is distributed and highly resistant to disasters. Our solution tries to increase data locality, to reduce network traffic by data placement, tries to efficiently use the physical computing resources and offer good scheduling response time.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"479 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123214776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have analyzed several body postures represented by skeletal points with each sensor, and the possibility to mix or interchange data from the two sensors to train machine learning algorithms and accurately classify these body postures. We have analyzed the performance of 23 of the best performing classifiers with skeletal data, using for testing our own data collected with Kinect and Orbbec. Results show there is a similarity between the two sensors and the possibility to interchange the sensor data, with no impact on accuracy for the majority of the classifiers used (16 out of 23), having minor adaptations applied on the data. The accuracy for the two sensors is similar when used independently. This proves it is possible to drive continuity between these two different generations of 3D motion cameras in systems performing gesture recognition.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"25 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120876839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on the fusion between semantic labeled images obtained using a convolutional neural network and a LiDAR point cloud. Semantic information will be used in order to exploit context for the detection of urban curbs. Using only the semantic labels associated to 3D points, we will define a set of 3D ROIs in which curbs are most likely to reside, thus reducing the search space for a curb. A traditional curb detection method for the LiDAR sensor is next used to correct the previously obtained ROIs. For this, spatial features are computed and filtered in each ROI using the LiDAR’s high accuracy measurements. The proposed solution works in real time and requires few parameters tuning. It proved independent on the type of the urban road, being capable of providing good curb detection results in straight, curved and intersection shaped roads.","PeriodicalId":259007,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 14th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125044597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
