So researchers proposed various methods to cope with this issue recently. We proposed a new fast and effective method to cope with the digital image copy move forgery. In this method the keypoints and their descriptors are extracted from the input image by using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm. For faster matching, the descriptor vectors are binarized 128 dimension to 128 bit and their hashing value are calculated. Then forged regions are detected by matching binarized descriptors with the same hash value. According to experimental results, the method detects forged regions on the images even if the forged image has undergone some post processing and preprocessing attacks.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127396612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Automatic evaluation methods based on classification by Gaussian mixture models (GMM) are described in more detail. The first performed experiments have confirmed that the proposed GMM classifier of the speech quality is functional and fully comparable with the standard evaluation based on the listening test. Our investigations have shown a relatively great influence of the number of mixtures and the type of a covariance matrix on the computational complexity. However, there was less effect of these parameters on variability of the GMM classifier results for different de-noising methods as well as less effect on gender invariability of the results.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129499895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have used user input information or seeds in our previous work to segment partially overlapped translucent regions. However providing a lot of seeds might sometimes be too time consuming that might make the method perform poorly or not work at all. Machine learning algorithms consist of two major phases: learning phase where the information will be generated based on the data, and test phase where the generated information will be used to improve the performance of the method. In previous work user guided labels were used as hard seeds in the RW algorithm. In this paper we extend our previous work to be able to segment multilabel translucent overlapped objects using soft seed information. We first map each segment as a class on a 25D manifold in the learning phase. Then the probability of assigning each of the image pixels to the segments, data term, is obtained by calculating the geodesic distance between the pixels' features and these classes on the manifold. This data term is then used as soft seeds in the RW algorithm instead of user predefined labels. Experimental results on synthetic images show the strength of our proposed method comparing to our previous algorithm with more than 95% segmentation accuracy.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117274412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This imposes an increasing demand on the network throughput, which currently surpasses the capabilities of commercially available wireless communication systems. To address this constraint, some companies are considering the implementation of high-throughput wired technologies, such as optical fibers, as part of their products. This approach is effective in terms of communication link capacity, but on the other hand may bring disadvantages and constraints in terms of user mobility (i.e., the limited length of cables). Therefore, we are currently witnessing much faster development of novel high-rate wireless technologies, which are considered to be enablers for future 5G applications. This paper offers an evaluation of the emerging IEEE 802.11ad (WiGig) wireless technology capable of delivering multi-gigabit data transfer rates. This hands-on assessment aims at real-world experimentation as well as simulation-based study of selected scenarios to assess the usability of the millimeter-wave technology in prospective 5G applications. All of our practical measurements were conducted on the commercially available WiGig-ready Dell D5000 hardware platforms. The obtained data was comprehensively compared with the corresponding simulation scenario in Network Simulator 3.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125605589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The number of D2D pairs operating within the same channel that can be supported in a certain area of interest is limited by the interference imposed by them on each other. In an inherently mobile environment where the users are constantly mobile the decision on enabling a certain number of direct connections should not only be based on the static interference picture but shall consider the changes in the signal-to-interference ratio caused by the user mobility. These changes manifest themselves into steady communications and outages time periods interchanging each other. In this paper, the statistical characteristics of the user mobility periods as a function of the D2D communications range, speed of users, number of communicating pairs and the area of interest is characterized utilizing the generic approach based on the Fokker-Plank equation. We show that although the time-evolution equation for the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of SIR can be written in explicit form for non-stationary movements of nodes, the solution cannot be obtained in closed-form. Using the mixed simulation-analytic approach we propose a generic methodology for performance assessment of time-dependent characteristics such as steady communications and outage time periods.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115660009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our goal is to assess the performance of statistical and connectionist approaches in performing the complex mappings between distinctive phonetic features (DPF) and associated acoustic cues. The present study explores the mapping between 29 phonological voicing, place, and manner features and Mel-frequency acoustic cues. For this purpose, three machine-learning techniques are deployed: Deep Belief Networks (DBN), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), and Hidden Markov Models (HMM). The three techniques show satisfactory acoustic-phonetic mapping performance and indicate that couple of Arabic DPF elements such as affricatives, alveopalatals, labiodentals, lateral, palatal, pharyngeal, rounded, and uvular have a strong correlation with the acoustic information. The implications of these results on Arabic phonological contrasts are discussed.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123325692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is clinical symptoms and/or signs due to abnormal excessive or synchronous neuronal activity in the human brain. Electroencephalogram (EEG) that measures the electrical activity of the brain generated by the cerebral cortex nerve cells, is the most utilized test to detect the seizure activities by visual scanning of EEG signal recordings. Many techniques and methods have been proposed and developed to help the neurophysiologists to automatically detect the seizure activities with high accuracy. This paper presents a review of EEG features that have been proposed to characterize the epileptic seizure activities for the purpose of EEG seizure detection and classification. The relevant and discriminate features are analyzed, and their performance are also compared and discussed.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128983215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a text independent method for emotion classification of speech signals used for the recognition of the emotional state of the speaker. Different feature selection criteria are explored and analyzed, namely Mutual Information Maximization (MIM) feature scoring criterion and its derivatives, to measure how potentially useful a feature or feature subset may be when used in a classifier. The proposed method employs different groups of low-level features, such as energy, zero-crossing rate, frequency bands in Mel scale, fundamental frequency or pitch, the delta- and delta-delta regression and statistical functions such as regression coefficients, extremums, moments etc., to represent the speech signals and a Neural Network classifier for the classification task. For the experiments the EMO-DB dataset is used with seven primary emotions including neutral. Results show that the proposed system yields an average accuracy of over 85% for recognizing 7 emotions with 5 of the best performing feature selection algorithms.","PeriodicalId":256818,"journal":{"name":"2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP)","volume":"398 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116504856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
