It reports detailed simulations of this method in presence of combined edge-core nodes using special scheduling algorithm. Specifically, we are interested in optimal partitionings of wavelengths among traffic classes of high and low priority. We observe certain tradeoffs between minimizing the overall blocking probabilities and providing service differentiation. To this end, the image is locally decomposed in sub-images (patches) and then it is processed based on the fusion of different information types: first order statistics, textural, fractal and spectral. Two multilayer processing networks are considered: one for the feature selection and class representative establishment, in the learning phase, and another for voting scheme, based on local detectors, in the classification phase. Taking into account the results from associated confusion matrices, in order to increase the classification accuracy, different weights were assigned to local detectors. It was tested 140 images from different public databases (40 for the learning phase and 100 for the classification phase). However, performance of wireless relay systems is strongly influenced by the worst communication link between the transmitter and the receiver. In realistic communication scenario characterized with non-identical channels' parameters, it is necessary to consider some additional techniques to improve the characteristics of this bottleneck link, and performance of relay system as whole. In this paper we assume amplify-and-forward relay system with variable gain amplification, operating in mixed Rice/Rayleigh fading environment. In order to improve its performance we propose implementation of polarization diversity. We present mathematical model, based on derivation of two statistical functions describing total received SNR, probability density function and moment generating function, which enables analyses of error rate performance for the considered relay system. This is a non-cooperative and hybrid type of routing with a hierarchical multilayered structure, incorporating pre-computed multipath hop-by-hop distributed connectivity. The goal is balance of the load among the nodes and reliable and energy efficient communication based on the formation of zones of service (ZS) and choice of nodes as Default Gateways (DG). A weight parameter that is function of the nominal available power and the transmission range of the nodes in the network is introduced. The routing is based on the formation of ZS in each network layer and choice of DG for each ZS considering this weight parameter. Simulation scenarios where the performance of the SZGP algorithm is compared to the well-known Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing are developed. The main goal is to transform existing distribution network into “smart distribution grid” and to realize this conversion in a cost effective and highly efficient way. In existing applications, communication units are used between both transformer substation, because the transfer of communication data via distribution transformer creates a problem. In the first stage, the high frequency model of the distribution transformer will be studied. In the second stage, a cost effective communication infrastructure with minimum bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) are studied. For this purpose, the distribution transformers to be used in the CENELEC 3–148.5 kHz communication bands (narrow band PLC) will be modeled in communication frequencies and the operating characteristics will be extracted. They demonstrate consequences of noisy environment and complicated topology. In this brief paper the main purpose of the project is to carry out a new cooperative approach for brain tumor segmentation and feature extraction from Magnetic Resonance Imaging with the good accuracy. The basic process involves is to use the notion of the modified Fuzzy C-Means which incorporates the spatial information and also in order to improve the segmentation and to get a better estimation of the final clusters centers. Then FCM_S results are considered as an initialization of the active edge for the Level sets algorithm. Digital Signal Processor chip of Texas instruments TMS320C6713 DSK with the Code Composer Studio and Matlab Simulink Blocksets are used for implementing this proposed work. The performance is measured by including some various optimization techniques and all results are shown using C67613 Graphical User Interface. The key factor in cognitive radio systems is to use a blind and reliable sensing method. Maximum to minimum eigenvalue (MME) is known as one of the best performing covariance based spectrum sensing methods in the literature. In this paper, we propose to use consecutive results of previously sensed signals in detection process to increase the performance of MME in a high range and introduce consecutive results MME (CRMME) method which is considerably more reliable with the cost of delay in secondary users communication. This paper presents a method for detecting and tracking of a user in a smart home using multiple sensors. We consider one PTZ camera and multiple Kinects in order to offer continuity over the users movement. Thus, the user can be keep inside the frame for most of the time. In this way, we minimize the drawbacks of using only one type of sensor. For example, field of view provided by Kinect sensor is not wide enough to cover the entire room. Also, the PTZ camera is not able to detect and track a person in case of different situations, such as the person is sitting or it is under the camera. The system is proposed for the Ambient Intelligence Laboratory (AmI-Lab) at the University Politehnica of Bucharest, and the design is compatible with the software architecture developed for this laboratory, AmI-Platform. The proposed scheme is applied for secure medical information transmission or its cloud storage. The scheme is implemented in two steps. In first step, randomization of patient information is done based on a password secret key before embedding it into the cover medical image. Second step is to hide the watermarked image into a secret key image before cloud storage so that even if the stored image is hacked or leaked, the cover medical image along with embedded patient information cannot be retrieved by the hacker. In this paper we have proposed a novel watermarking algorithm for medical images by randomizing the information according to the secret password key and then embedding it into the cover medical image followed by embedding of cover image into another secret key image. The proposed scheme aims to protect sensitive information transfer and cloud storage from unauthorized access. Extraction of the embedded information at the receiver end is done in two steps. Firstly, non-blind detection is carried out in which cover medical image is extracted with help of secret key image. In the second step, binary image watermark is extracted by analyzing the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) coefficient values.
