The library has been a collector and caretaker of scientific agricultural journals, ensuring the completeness and safety of sets of scientific agricultural journals from the moment of its creation. It is emphasized that the information resources of the library that provide information support for scientific research can be used by scientific editors for reference purposes. The library’s stock having over 3 million items is a reliable source of various information. The content of the stock is disclosed in electronic information resources of its own generation: bibliographic, abstract and full-text, presented on the library’s website, which has long been a virtual double of the library. The library distributes information presented in scientific journals by publishing information about it in the bibliographic index, abstract database, in the Electronic Scientific Agricultural Library, by presenting the contents of journals in the electronic catalog of journals on its website. The results of monitoring the demand by users of scientific journals by subject and year of publication are presented. The work of the AGRIS center at the CSAL on integration of the results of scientific research published in agricultural journals into the world scientific information space is presented. The role of AGRIS in obtaining and exchanging scientific specialized information is described. It is emphasized that this is the only free international database on agriculture and food that provides abstract and full-text information, and the volume of full-text information is increasing every year.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"282 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133953587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the work, non-production losses were analyzed and reduced.The aim of the project was to optimally use the available resources to reduce time costs in the production of the scientific journal.The task of the project was to analyze the sequence, time and distribution law of the editorial and publishing processes of the scientific journal, and on their basis to develop recommendations for eliminating losses and implement their activities of the editorial staff of the scientific journal.As a result of the project: several times reduced losses when reviewing manuscripts; the average time for reviewing articles is maintained with a significant increase in the flow of incoming articles over a short period of time; the average time of delay in the release of magazines has been reduced. In the course of the work, it was revealed that lean production methods (lean methods) are also applicable to complex formalized processes that, at their core, clearly do not create added value and do not deal with physical production, and process optimization significantly affects customer satisfaction. The results of the Gantt diagram before and after of lean productions had been presented.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114690854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These journals are chosen as the object of analysis due to the fact that the Science Index calculation is now performed according to the new methodology with normalization according to the RSCI core. The authors focus on the positioning of socio-humanitarian journals within the national publishing competition, taking into account theoretically possible and actual changes in scientometric indicators in dynamics.The study is based on the data of the analysis of publication activity of more than 130 Russian journals presented on the elibrary.ru platform from 2012–2021 before and after the change in the methodology of Science Index integral index calculation and subsequent recalculation. In the course of the study, the journals were ranked according to both the current 2021 indicators before and after the change in calculation methodology, and the retrospective indicators predicted using three time-series forecasting methods (ARIMA, nnetar and ETS) before and after the change in calculation methodology. The results of this study form an idea of the “attention demanding” impact of the implementation of the new Science Index calculation methodology, which significantly limits the number of journals considered for citation calculation, on the positions of individual publications and scientific fields and changes in the balance of the Russian scientific world as a whole.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124036852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The undertaken study outlines practical solutions to such challenges. The paper relies on an overview of previously published research literature on the subject, as well as classification, generalisation, descriptive research, quantitative and frequency analysis. In order to verify the obtained data, corpus analysis was used. As a result, the research reveals common difficulties of abstract writing Russian authors experience and identifies discrepancies in the available findings. The paper argues that referring to authentic lexicographic and corpus online resources can become a way to avoid and/or eliminate errors. Removing the major (linguistic) stumbling block can result in overcoming academic writing issues. In addition, the article provides a brief description of the best practices for working with such resources.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"2004 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130763958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 2022 Update of the COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME joint guidelines on The Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing encourages journals to establish their own policy in “data sharing and reproducibility” (DS&R). However, this document neither provides detailed recommendations / templates nor explains the reproducibility crisis phenomenon.Objectives. To analyze and interpret the international guidelines, the best practices of global publishers and journals, as well as typical mistakes and experience of selected Russian journals, to help a journal develop its own DS&R policy and its implementation.Materials and methods. The analysis of various sources (literature, reporting guidelines, data repositories), policies of 83 Russian university journals, as well as policies of the top 5 international publishers and their journals. Interviews with 6 editors-in-chief of Russian journals regarding DS&R.Results. All the top 5 global publishers in their DS&R policy adapt the TOP Guidelines and offer their own data sharing statement templates. Discussion and interpretations. The author suggests Russian translation of the TOP Guidelines and the main templates (e.g., data sharing statement). He also discusses 9 best journal policies and practices (including pre-registration studies).Conclusions. Numerous international sources, as well as the experience of selected Russian journals, demonstrate that the implementation of the DS&R policy increases articles citation (averagely by 25.3%), the growth of journal’s bibliometric and altmetric indicators, and also contributes to the trust of the target audience. As a result, it strengthes the journal portfolio to enable publishing articles well ahead of schedule. However, only the declarative statement of DS&R policies by journals without proper implementation does not bring tangible benefits to the journals.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126313719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, considering citation in assessing the quality level of a particular paper or journal can be treated differently due to citation practices, thus requiring a systematic analysis, and tracking of their development. The purpose of this article is to present the architecture of the citation landscape current state and comment on steps to avoid common pitfalls in the citation process. The authors have analyzed the most significant foreign studies on the topic, highlighted the main key aspects of the modern citation culture and new trends that can change the citation practice. A typology of citation is offered, the most prominent theories of citing authors behavior are commented, strategies of citing authors behavior and factors that determine the characteristics of citation are described, parameters of high-quality citation are analyzed, and recommendations for the implementation of successful strategies for citing authors behavior are given. The authors have also highlighted new trends in the context of citation (review of the citation context, the phenomenon of unwanted citation) that can significantly transform the citation practice. Understanding the landscape of modern citation culture by citing authors is fundamentally capable of optimizing citation standards, achieving maximum transparency and validity of the scholarly communication context.","PeriodicalId":256387,"journal":{"name":"Science Editor and Publisher","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121387789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
