Objectives: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of paradoxical time table technique on negative automatic thoughts, cognitive avoidance and fear of evaluating others in people with social anxiety disorder. Methods: The current research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the research included all people with social anxiety disorder (50 people) who referred to Derakhshan counseling center in Babolsar city in 2021. The sample included 30 patients who were purposefully selected and randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and control group (15 people). To collect data, ATQ negative automatic thoughts questionnaire, Sexton & Dugas CAQ cognitive avoidance questionnaire and Watson & Friend fear evaluation questionnaire were used. Research data was analyzed using SPSS-23 software. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the paradoxical timetable technique was significantly effective on negative automatic thoughts, cognitive avoidance and fear of evaluation by others (P < 0.001). By addressing these underlying cognitive processes, metacognitive therapy aims to improve both individual well-being and relational dynamics. Objectives: This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of metacognitive therapy in couples with marital conflicts attending the family court in Karaj city. Methods: The present study employed a semi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest and control group. The statistical population of this study comprised all couples applying for divorce who had sought divorce or marital dispute resolution at the family court in Karaj in the year 2023. A sample of 32 individuals (16 individuals per group) was selected through voluntary sampling, considering the study entry criteria, and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Participants completed questionnaires on their relational beliefs and self-differentiation in the pretest and posttest stages. The experimental group underwent 16 sessions of 90-minute metacognitive therapy, while the control group received no intervention. Data analysis was conducted using analysis of covariance. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-27 software. Results: Metacognitive therapy significantly improved relational beliefs compared to the control group (P < 0.001). The experimental group's mean score increased from 85.19 (± 9.89) at pretest to 135.88 (± 11.91) at posttest, while the control group showed minimal change (pretest: 89.31 ± 7.99; posttest: 95.75 ± 16.94). Similar improvements were observed in self-differentiation scores (P < 0.001). The experimental group's mean score increased from 120.81 (± 8.88) at pretest to 173.50 (± 14.45) at posttest, compared to minimal change in the control group (pretest: 126.31 ± 7.40; posttest: 125.75 ± 11.06). Conclusions: The present study yielded significant findings that support the effectiveness of metacognitive therapy in improving relational and marital functioning. These results are promising, suggesting that metacognitive therapy may be a valuable intervention for couples experiencing marital conflict.","PeriodicalId":254271,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Research in Paramedical Sciences","volume":"26 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141229451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: This study aims to investigate the occurrence of sports injuries and assess how they may affect students' mental and physical well-being. Methods: The current study was cross-sectional research conducted in Hamedan City from 1401 to 1402. The statistical population of this study consisted of students who participated in team sports. A total of 153 students, with an average age of 14.1 ± 2.8, were selected as the study population. The quality of life was assessed using the SF36 scale, while physical and mental health were evaluated using the PROMIS-2 scales. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 software and the independent t-test statistical method, with a significance level set at 0.05. Results: The research results have shown that 24.2% of student-athletes in Hamedan City suffer from sports injuries in at least one part of their body. The areas that most commonly affected were the feet and toes (16.2%), ankles (13.5%), and knees (10.8%). Furthermore, the findings from the research indicate that student-athletes with a previous history of sports injuries had a significantly lower average quality of life, physical health, social functioning, and pain interference compared to those who had not experienced such injuries (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Sports injuries are common among student-athletes who participate in team sports, and they can significantly affect both their physical and social well-being. Such injuries can have a detrimental impact on the daily lives and social interactions of adolescent athletes. Therefore, health professionals must be fully aware of these repercussions and make them a key focus when managing sports injuries.","PeriodicalId":254271,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Clinical Research in Paramedical Sciences","volume":"59 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139127352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: In a clinical trial study, 40 patients were divided into two groups. In one group of patients, intravenous fentanyl (2 µg/kg) was given and in the other group, 2 puffs sublingually nitroglycerin spray was given in addition to receiving fentanyl. Hemodynamic variables were measured at one minute before and after laryngoscopy. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 19 software. Results: The study data showed that there is no statistically significant difference between the study groups in terms of demographics. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as heart rate decreased significantly in the group of receiving simultaneous fentanyl and nitroglycerin in comparison to the group receiving fentanyl alone.
