The objective of this study is to evaluate the degradation of reinforced concrete supports in a case study. It was found that 49.5% of the buildings have supports for air conditioners in the external area of their facades and of these 69% are reinforced concrete. From the aerial images it was possible to observe cracks in 90% of the supports and 21% presented partial collapse of the structure. It is concluded that the failure in the design of the reinforced concrete support without giving importance to the minimum requirements of coverage and quality control in the manufacture of concrete, are decisive in the increase of porosity and the entry of aggressive agents. The low useful life of these supports is associated with the risk of serious or fatal accidents with the fall of parts of these structures and leads to frequent replacement, demanding more cement consumption and more construction waste.","PeriodicalId":250730,"journal":{"name":"Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades","volume":"85 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139130581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To evaluate these benefits, it is necessary to know the species composition and distribution of trees in the urban landscape. For this purpose, the tree inventory is a fundamental instrument. This study aims to present an overview of scientific publications based on the street trees inventory of Brazilian municipalities. We expected to find information about the species composition and contributed to managers and decision-makers for species selection in new planting programs. We consulted four databases, initially identifying 322 articles published between 2000 and 2021. We considered 27 of them eligible for the systematic review. The studies are concentrated in cities in the Southeast and South regions. The authors of 21 articles reported quantifying or qualifying the street trees by focusing on planning. In general, species diversity was considered low, and the species mentioned as more abundant are Ficus benjamina, Moquilea tomentosa, and Cenostigma pluviosum. Exotic was predominant in 11 of 14 surveys that evaluated the origin of the species. These findings show that native flora is severely underrepresented on the streets in Brazilian cities. The alternative path for this scenario would be for the public managers to prioritize long-term actions and public policies starting from inventories that generate information about species composition and the potential environmental services provided by urban trees.","PeriodicalId":250730,"journal":{"name":"Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades","volume":"56 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139132365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This encourages denial of decent housing for a portion of the Brazilian population, which has to seek vulnerable territories (favelas) as a survival strategy. The aim of this article is to present the reality scenario where these vulnerable territories (favelas) are present in the urban space of Londrina/PR, which unfolds in the concern to enter into the paradox between the formal construction environment and these territories, as most of them are located in areas of permanent preservation (APP's), which by precept of the Laws: Forest Code (2012) Environmental Code of Londrina (2012), should be preserved. A qualitative approach was the used methodology in the research, with the theoretical-methodological framework based on Lefebvre (2006) and primary and secondary sources were used to obtain the data. Environmental laws clash with the information obtained in the survey: the existence of 69 vulnerable territories, with 3,160 families (10,867 people, 2017) rising to 3,815 families (12,240 people) in 2020 (LONDRINA, 2021). This reality results in the lack of convergence between the territorial planning policy (PDM) and policies such as: environmental, housing, environmental sanitation (other sectoral policies) that should be integrated in favor of the development of inclusive and socially and environmentally sustainable cities, which could contribute to overcoming the paradox of the social production of space","PeriodicalId":250730,"journal":{"name":"Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades","volume":" 586","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139136805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The case study method was used, based on secondary data and unsystematic observations in locu. The investigated area is the Parque dos Poderes, a green area located in Campo Grande, MS, considered to be one of the tourist attractions of the city and an important leisure area for the population, which appropriated its use for the practice of outdoor physical activities, even though it was conceived for other purposes. The requalification of the Parque dos Poderes had the goal of meeting the demands of the new use of the Parque and of its users. This influence can be manifested through walkability, an attribute of the urban environment capable of encouraging active transport and physical activity, and which has been presented as an intelligent alternative to make cities more sustainable and healthier. In view of this, this study has the general objective of evaluating the walkability of João Pessoa - PB from a sample formed by two neighborhoods of the city, Miramar and São José, which have different morphological characteristics. Urban sections in the neighborhoods were selected using the Proportional Stratified Sampling (PSS) method. The evaluation was then carried out in the study areas, using the walkability index iCam 2.0, a tool developed by the Institute for Transport and Development Policies (ITDP Brazil). The results reveal that walkability is insufficient in several sections of both neighborhoods, but the results of the São José neighborhood show worse conditions of mobility, pedestrian infrastructure, safety, and attractiveness, suggesting a socioeconomic segregation in relation to urban planning. The results of this research can contribute to the construction of the literature concerning on the subject and to the understanding of aspects of urban design that favor walkability in Brazilian cities.","PeriodicalId":250730,"journal":{"name":"Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139132976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Those spaces aimed at leisure, such as urban parks, aim to offer the population, in addition to contact with nature, the development of physical activities and recreation for various age groups. The good quality of the spatial configuration encourages the permanence of users in the place and enables social interaction. However, the impoverishment of public space projects leads to their disuse. In this context, this article presents the result of a research that evaluated the spatial quality and use of an urban park. The case study was carried out in the Joaquim Amaral Amando de Barros Municipal Park, located in the city of Botucatu, SP. From an adaptation of the methodology developed by the Project for Public Spaces (2020), the elements associated with Access and Linkages, Comfort and Image, Uses and Activities, and Sociability were evaluated, using performance indicators and an index. The results show in general an excellent degree of adequacy of the physical aspects; however, the accessibility indicator was considered unsatisfactory. Accessibility problems impact the use of the park by people with motor disabilities or reduced mobility. Some weaknesses identified in the park can subsidize future design interventions and serve as a parameter for the development of projects in other parks.","PeriodicalId":250730,"journal":{"name":"Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades","volume":" 1245","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139135990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
