PMUs are able to provide time stamped synchronized measurements of voltage and current phasors using Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites, in microseconds, to maintain the power system network free of faults and hence healthy. Different phasor estimation techniques such as Kalman filter and Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) may be used by PMUs to estimate phasors. In this research work, the implementation of non-recursive, recursive and smart DFT techniques have been investigated for modeling the PMU using MATLAB. Electromagnetic forces and power losses play a vital role in the designing of the shunt reactor. Due to the higher efficiency of the finite element method, reactors can be developed by using the finite element models prior to the experimental design of the reactor. The main aim of this work is to calculate the electromagnetic forces in the reactor. Finite element analysis was used to calculate the current, electromagnetic forces, magnetic flux, no-load losses, and load losses in the shunt reactor. The data rate for each wavelength is 30 Gbps, and the proposed scheme is simulated with the worst case, which is fog attenuation. The use of MIMO system ensures the data transmission with less bit error rate and improves the quality factor (Q-Factor) and optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) of optical link. As power generated from PV energy systems always depends on varying weather conditions, to get maximum output power from PV generator at every insolation variation, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based MPPT controller is combined with particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to track the MPP of the PV generator. The suggested hybrid technique identifies and tracks the MPP and provides accurate and fast response of an autonomous PV wire feeder unit (PV-WFU). To maintain the welding wire speed constant under varying conditions, a fractional-order PI (FOPI) speed controller based on hysteresis current control (HCC) scheme is adopted to drive the BLDC motor of WFU. A MATLAB/SIMULINK model is developed for this purpose and results are presented. The simulations show that the proposed hybrid PSO-ANFIS based on MPPT controller has been able to control the PV output power around the maximum point at all weather condition scenarios. The proposed partial sort algorithm does not use pivots, but instead makes use of past sorting decisions to narrow the search for each new sorted element. A major advantage of the proposed partial sort algorithm is that its complexity and sorting time are fixed, and are not dependent upon the data to be sorted, unlike other algorithms. Its failure may affect on the continuity of supply of electrical energy to the consumers. A differential relay, which is generally used for protecting this power transformer, may be affected by the disturbances such as inrush current, current transformer saturation and over-excitation due to external faults. Accordingly, false trips (mal-operation) of protection system may be resulted in. This research work proposes root cause analysis based on fault tree analysis to be used for assessing disturbances that lead to false trips. When the critical root causes are identified, mitigation measures are used. The pursuit-evasion game consists of one evader and four pursuers which are the red, blue, orange and pink agents. In the game scenario, the goal of the evader, which is controlled by human user, is to collect papers without getting caught by the four pursuer agents. The pursuer agents are constructed such that they can move autonomously in the game field via the deployment of a dynamic waypoint structure and the A* algorithm. The red, blue and orange pursuer agents share the information on location of the evader agent if the evader agent lies in one of their limited line of sight. They try to intercept the evader agent from different directions in collaborative manner. In this context, we designed a PD controller based pursuing system that tries to minimize the distance between the evader and pursuer agent. For the pink agent, we designed a fuzzy logic based pursuing system that is capable to generate reference interception points and force values to catch evader agent. The performance of the pursuing systems is examined by providing experimental results collected from the game-environment. We used a refractive index varied in the range of 1.51 to 1.57 for different structures we change the number of the layers, their thickness and incident angle. This work focuses on the implementation of an IP based hysteresis current controller dedicated to SAPF for power quality improvement and grid current harmonic elimination. The FPGA-based controller includes all the necessary elements to driving a SAPF. The proposed digital implementation achieves a valuable compromise between good performance and easy hardware implementation, with a minimum execution time and low resources utilization.
