The contribution discusses the full photonic transceiver concept (transmitter and receiver). Two main types of optical wireless links are mentioned: test link and data link. The purely photonic concept of the links with its advantages over the conventional concept is presented and discussed. The modeling of the full photonic receiver using matrix optics is shown.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125272578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that application of MM in microstrip lattice as a substrate (instead of a dielectric) provides alignment of levels of the higher harmonics in comparison with first harmonic in the reflected field. It is reached due to suppression of fundamental harmonic in the reflected field.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115332740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system consists of five main parts. These are 3D positioning system, light emitting diode (LED) sensor of electrical field (E-field), aquarium with saline solution, digital camera and image processing algorithm. LED E-field sensor is moved in front of the aperture of hyperthermia applicator while the digital camera takes pictures of the scene in appropriate cross section of the applicator. Digital image processing is then performed in order to extract intensity of light emitted from the sensor and reconstruct the final distribution of E-field. Results from this measuring procedure are compared with the results from numerical simulation.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116753775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It offers good aperture efficiency in a reduced height and excellent scanning performance. This work describes the development of half Luneburg lens antennas together with feeding arrangements to provide highly directive antennas with good scanning properties. It focuses on the decrease in FSO reliability caused by mechanical vibrations of the transmitting and receiving antenna. To represent the impact of those vibrations on system performance, a statistical model of the linear misalignments between transmitter and receiver is used. The changes of systems availability under different conditions are graphically represented. It is also shown that using optimal system parameters would result in significant increase of the availability of the system.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131661611","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper the measurement on such a system on the test HW signal chain is presented. Signal developed in the late paper [2] had been generated and sent to two receiver stations. Cables and air was used for the signal transmission. Signal from the both receiver's stations was processed and the Difference of distances (DOD) was estimated. There were two ways of obtaining the DOD - a cross correlation method with the known signal pattern (Corr) and a spectral analysis method (SAM) [2]. The signal processing was shown to be highly robust leading to the system sub-meter accuracy. When measuring with cables, an average DOD error of 24.5 cm was demonstrated using the Corr method. For the measurement through the air the maximum average DOD error of 34 cm was reached by the SAM method.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132935557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main goal of this proposal is to use this applicator for advanced breast cancer treatment. The applicator has an octagonal shape and operates at frequency 434 MHz. We design and optimize dimensions, source positions through electromagnetic simulations, namely one, four, six and eight elements array. These applicator arrays were mutually compared and analyzed in changes of areas enclosing by 75%, 50 % and 25 % SAR contours. The surface enclosed by 50 % SAR contour were 12 cm2 by one applicator, 14.3 cm2 by four applicators array, 36 cm2 by six applicators array and 64 cm2 by eight applicators array. For experiments we constructed one and four element array and measured reflection coefficient (-10.2 dB) and temperature distribution to the agar phantom. The surface cover by 50 % SAR contour deducted from thermograms is 15 cm2 in one applicator case and 23 cm2 in four applicators case.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"252 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134217974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under certain conditions the optical propagation through atmospheric turbulence is reciprocal, i.e. the power fluctuation in forward and backward channels is highly correlated. The paper deals with a model for generating correlated and colored lognormal time series for time-domain simulation of packet transmission. The probability of occurrence of errors in each packet can be computed analytically based on noise performance of the receiver and one sample of randomly generated received power. The model is demonstrated in a parametric study of performance of FSO terminals whose link layer includes transmitter blocking during deep fades.","PeriodicalId":250220,"journal":{"name":"2015 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128245002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
