Botnets have been used for many attacks, such as banking information theft, spam, distributed denial-of-service, identity theft and phishing. Then, they have been proposed as a major research topic in the network security. Although there are several surveys on the Botnets, they usually do not include a complete review on Botnet phenomenon. This paper is a survey on Botnets and provides a brief of classifications, techniques and algorithms of Botnet detection and defense. In this survey, we provide a comparison on existing research. We present an overview of studies on Botnet and discuss in detail including topologies, architectures, communication protocols, infection mechanisms, attacks, purposes, prevention techniques, detection sources and data, detection techniques and algorithms, and response techniques.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125905637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The incorrect way to handle missing value will lead major problem in data mining processing to produce a new knowledge. One technique to solve Missing value imputation is by using machine learning algorithm. In this paper, we will present a new approach for missing data imputation using Reinforcement Programming to deal with incomplete data by filling the incompleteness data with considering exploration and exploitation of its environment to learn the data pattern. The experimental result demonstrates that Reinforcement Programming runs well and has a great result of SSE of new data with assigned value and shows effectiveness computational time than the other five imputation methods used as benchmark.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122658792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary goals of creating the AISL head orientation database includes the following: (1) providing a new challenge of the head orientation database that is sufficient to simulate the impact of background changes in real applications; (2) helping the development of the state of the art techniques for estimating head orientation in real applications; and (3) covering multiple races which include Indonesian, Japanese, Latin of American and Netherland people. This database consists of 6,480 images of the full view the head of 20 persons. A turntable system equipped with two Kinect cameras is utilized to simultaneously capture 36 images with interval 10°. Each subject is asked to look straight ahead, up and down to obtain 324 images in three shots and three times of background change. We also discuss the preliminary evaluation based on the AISL database and present the performance of two state-of-the-art appearance-based head pose classification methods to do the following: (1) evaluate the difficulty of the database for classifying or estimating head orientation; (2) preference evaluation results for researchers using the database; and (3) identify the strengths and weaknesses of the commonly used methods.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131423661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ecological parameters are changing drastically all over the world, and there is no answer why it is happening. There are so many environmental characteristics which we are able to measure and monitor. However, we do not really understand the meaning of all these environmental measurements. In this research we propose the environmental meaning analysis approach for ecology observation through various sensors that can be used for providing the meaning of the environmental parameters. The significant feature of this research is that we target on many different characteristics of the ecology and consider them all together in one combined model, which allows us to discover valuable knowledge about the condition of the environment.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132093206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose an implementation of cascaded PID control algorithm for line follower balancing robot. The algorithm is implemented on ADROIT V1 education robot kits. The robot should be able to follow the trajectory given by the circular guideline while maintaining its balance condition. The controller also designed to control the speed of robot movement while tracking the line. To obtain this purpose, there are three controllers that is used in the same time; balancing controller, speed controller and the line following controller. Those three controllers are cascaded to control the movement of the robot that uses two motors as its actuator. From the experiment, the proposed cascaded PID controller shows an acceptable performance for the robot to maintain its balance position while following the circular line with the given speed setpoint.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"7 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132512534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the 2 × 2 OFDM system is capable of doubling the capacity without expanding the occupied frequency bandwidth, we can't get the additional diversity gain using the linear MIMO decomposition method. This proposed method can improve the bit error rate performance (BER) by making efficient use of ESPAR antenna. Computer simulation results shows that the proposed scheme gives the additional diversity gain about 3.9 dB for ideal channel and 2.55 dB for estimated channel for maximal likelihood detection (MLD) with scheme 2 × 2 MIMO conventional.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130125468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One way to know the human fundamental personality is based on test, and one kind of test is Grapho test (handwriting test). In this study has been conducted detection of the human fundamental personality using combination of some face features: the eyes, lips, and nose (without test). Those features are obtained from facial image. Distance between two corners of the eyes, high of eyes, ratio of the mouth width and nose, the width ratio of two eyes, and thickness of lower lip have been used as feature extractions. By using artificial neural network (backpropagation) and based on such feature extractions, the fundamental personality is detected. Related to the experimental results, system can detect the human fundamental personality for the same input image data with training average 85.5%. The identification result for the different input image data with training is average 42.5%, this condition occurred caused by identification of personality for choleric and phlegmatic was less than 50%.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131360103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research developed a simulation to provides the route guidance and navigation for the emergency vehicle using V2I-based cooperative communication. The goal is to provide assistance for the emergency vehicle to reach the destination effectively by coordinating traffic information through a wireless communication networks. To provides a realistic mobility model, a developed simulation uses the Federated Mobility Model. This mobility model allows the integration and interaction between the traffic generator and network simulator to work concurrently. As a case study, this research uses the network topology map and the road traffic mobility in the city of Banda Aceh. The analysis results shows, the utilization of V2I-based cooperative communication can assist the emergency vehicle to reduce travel time and increase the average speed by avoiding the congested area.","PeriodicalId":248906,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Electronics Symposium (IES)","volume":"329 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133696438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
