We present spectroscopic observations using the Heinrich Hertz Submillimeter Telescope of the dense gas tracers, HCO+ and N2H 3–2, for all 6194 sources in the BGPS v1.0.1 catalog between 7. ◦5 l 194◦. This is the largest targeted spectroscopic survey of dense molecular gas in the Milky Way to date. We find unique velocities for 3126 (50.5%) of the BGPS v1.0.1 sources observed. Strong N2H 3–2 emission (Tmb > 0.5 K) without HCO+ 3–2 emission does not occur in this catalog. We characterize the properties of the dense molecular gas emission toward the entire sample. HCO+ is very sub-thermally populated and the 3–2 transitions are optically thick toward most BGPS clumps. The median observed line width is 3.3 km s−1 consistent with supersonic turbulence within BGPS clumps. We find strong correlations between dense molecular gas integrated intensities and 1.1 mm peak flux and the gas kinetic temperature derived from previously published NH3 observations. These intensity correlations are driven by the sensitivity of the 3–2 transitions to excitation conditions rather than by variations in molecular column density or abundance. We identify a subset of 113 sources with stronger N2H than HCO+ integrated intensity, but we find no correlations between the N2H/HCO ratio and 1.1 mm continuum flux density, gas kinetic temperature, or line width. Self-absorbed profiles are rare (1.3%).","PeriodicalId":248733,"journal":{"name":"Kirchner – Abkürzungsverzeichnis der Rechtssprache","volume":" 13","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113948208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The precise origin of the eruption is still under debate. The loss of equilibrium, or an ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) instability such as torus instability are among the several mechanisms that have proposed to be responsible for the sudden eruptions. Distinct approaches have also been formulated for limited cases having circular or translation symmetry. We revisit the previous theoretical approaches setting them in the same analytical framework. The coronal field results from the contribution of a non-neutralized current channel added to a background magnetic field, which in our model is the potential field generated by two photospheric flux concentrations. The evolution on short Alfvénic timescale is governed by ideal MHD. We first show analytically that the loss of equilibrium and the stability analysis are two different views of the same physical mechanism. Second, we identify that the same physics is involved in the instabilities of circular and straight current channels. Indeed, they are just two particular limiting cases of more general current paths. A global instability of the magnetic configuration is present when the current channel is located at a coronal height, h, large enough so that the decay index of the potential field, ∂ ln |Bp|/∂ ln h, is larger than a critical value. At the limit of very thin current channels, previous analysis has found critical decay indices of 1.5 and 1 for circular and straight current channels, respectively. However, with current channels being deformable and as thick as that expected in the corona, we show that this critical index has similar values for circular and straight current channels, and is typically in the range [1.1,1.3].","PeriodicalId":248733,"journal":{"name":"Kirchner – Abkürzungsverzeichnis der Rechtssprache","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123995417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We use the purification-based finite temperature Tensor Network approach making no prior assumptions about the nature of the excitations: Majorana, visons or spin waves. For purely Kitaev interactions and fields h/K & 0.02 sufficient to degrade ITO, the peak κxy/T monotonously decreases from half-quantization associated with lower fields a behavior reminiscent of vison fluctuation corrections. For higher fields h/K & 0.1, we find the results qualitatively consistent with a spin-wave treatment. In our J-K model (with ferro-K and antiferro-J), in the vicinity of field-suppressed magnetic order, we found κxy/T to be significant, with peak magnitudes exceeding half-quantization followed by a monotonous decrease with increasing h. We thus conclude that half-quantized thermal Hall effect in the vicinity of field suppressed magnetic order in our model, is a fine-tuning effect and is not associated with a Majorana Hall state with ITO.","PeriodicalId":248733,"journal":{"name":"Kirchner – Abkürzungsverzeichnis der Rechtssprache","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131492788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
