The rank order for the best 3 formulations is F2>F1. Formulation F2 having DCP as the super disintegrant is the best formulation of all. Higher the concentration of the lubricating agent (Magnesium Stearate or Talc), higher will be the disintegration time. Formulation having the better Super disintegrants (Ac-Di-Sol) will have better in vitro disintegration time and dissolution along with lesser friability and weight variation. Thus, it may be concluded that the fast-dissolving tablets of Domperidone can be successfully prepared and undoubtedly the availability of various technologies and manifold advantages of fast dissolving tablets will surely enhance patient compliance and its popularity in the near future.","PeriodicalId":246486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicine","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117140117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a broad sense, the term transdermal delivery system includes all topically administered drug formulations intended to deliver the active ingredient into the general circulation. Transdermal drug delivery systems are polymeric formulations which when applied to skin deliver the drug at a predetermined rate across dermis to achieve systemic effects. A transdermal patch is medicated adhesive patch that is placed on the skin to deliver a specific dose of medication through the skin and into the bloodstream. Often, this promotes healing to an injured area of the body. An advantage of a transdermal drug delivery route over other types of medication delivery such as oral, topical, intravenous, intramuscular, etc. is that the patch provides a controlled release of the medication into the patient, usually through either a porous membrane covering a reservoir of medication or through body heat melting thin layers of medication embedded in the adhesive. The main disadvantage to transdermal delivery systems stems from the fact that the skin is a very effective barrier; as a result, only medications whose molecules are small enough to penetrate the skin can be delivered in this method.","PeriodicalId":246486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicine","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128893034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whole study was divided into four phases in which hypoglycaemic activity with single doses of O. sanctum and glimeperide was established in single day study and repeated dose treatment of O. sanctum (7 days) followed by a single dose of glimeperide on 8th day was also established. Further the interaction between the two drugs was studied in both single and repeated treatment, i.e., the effect of single and glimeperide repeated doses treatment on O. sanctum. All the results were analysed by one way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s‘t’ test. Rats were administered with streptozotocin for inducing diabetes and left for 2 weeks to stabilize blood glucose levels. Various doses of O. sanctum (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) and glimeperide (½ TD, TD and 2 TD) upon single dose treatment of each in different groups of diabetic rats produced a dose dependent decrease in blood glucose levels. The maximum reduction in serum glucose was observed at 6 th h in all the groups. Single dose of O. sanctum prolonged the effect of glimepiride from 4th to 6th h without any hypoglycemic convulsions.","PeriodicalId":246486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicine","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131150920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
