A single user D-STTD system is that one transmitter sends four streams to one receiver and a multi-user D-STTD system is that one transmitter sends four streams to two receivers. In the two scenarios, we utilize the special structure of HHH of D-STTD system and split the precoding matrix W as W1W2 with known channel knowledge in the transmitter: at first, the anti-diagonal sub-matrix of HHH has been diagonalized by W1; in the second, the leaving element of symmetric structure matrix (HW1)HHW1 has been diagonalized by W2 through SVD or GSVD. Furthermore, the adaptive antenna shuffling has been introduced into multi-user D-STTD system to improve performance. Our methods in two systems all have significant performance gain which are proved by the simulation results: in the single user D-STTD system, our method has the same performance as SVD method and no special operation is needed in receiver; in the multi-user D-STTD system, our method has almost 2.0dB gain than no precoding method.","PeriodicalId":244652,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing","volume":"277 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131538413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system model assumes all relays participate and considers the subcarrier pairing with fairness constraints on relays. This paper presents an energy consumption model for the considered collaborative communication system with imperfect phase synchronization and channel fading. With this model, it is easy to find that, as the number of collaborative sensor nodes increases, notable power can be saved from the data transmission at the expense of increased circuit power. Hence, an energy saving model is defined to study the trade-off between the data transmission power gain and required circuit power. The presented numerical results use parameters taking values from the off-the-shelf products. It is shown that significant energy can be saved using collaborative communication as compared to SISO (Single input single output) communication when the transmission distance is greater than the break-even distance.","PeriodicalId":244652,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125609486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of a coarse frequency estimation followed by fine frequency estimation. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) determines the coarse frequency estimation and least squares estimator (LSE) makes it possible to get the optimal frequency difference estimation. Subsequently, we derive the relationship between the asymptotic error variance (AEV) and the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB). Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm approaches the CRB of the sinusoid when the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is higher than the SNR threshold.","PeriodicalId":244652,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132310955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this algorithm is to allocate the available power of each source so that it can achieve the required transmission quality. The full-duplex relays receive the signal amplified by themselves and re-amplify it sequentially. We derive the SINR and interference function, and then a simplified analysis of convergence is given by using a standard techniques. We evaluate the power controlled system in terms of the outage probability as well as the average power consumption, and compare it with the system without a relay and with half-duplex relays, respectively. The simulation results illustrates potential advantages of the power controlled system with full-duplex relays, the performance of which is limited by an isolation factor.","PeriodicalId":244652,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121244904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
