Artificial intelligence (AI) is a new milestone for the constantly developing media. The influence of artificial intelligence on journalism is an interesting subject for research. Although, the main field of reflection should be focused on infoethics. Automation anxiety, means the fear of automation, accompanies journalists more and more frequently. For some, robotization of journalism is only a way to save money in the newsroom, and for others a catalyst for algorithm bias, contributes to the formation of an information bubble, causes a confirmation effect and fosters the generation of so-called deep fakes. Still other opinions indicate the positive side of the process, e.g. greater transparency of journalism and the discovery by AI of such connections between facts that would never have been discovered otherwise. So is there a space left in the media of the Web 3.0 era for a journalist’s personality, reflection, responsibility for the word and personalism? {"title":"Duties of the penitent and confessor in the light of 21 Constitution of the Fourth Lateran Council","authors":"Jan Dohnalik","doi":"10.52097/lst.2023.3.141-150","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52097/lst.2023.3.141-150","url":null,"abstract":"At the beginning of the 13th century there was a crisis in the institutional Church, in response to which Pope Innocent III during the Fourth Lateran Council introduced the obligation of annual confession and emphasised the importance of this sacramental practice.
 The 21st Council Constitution obliged every believer to go to Confession at least once a year and to receive the Eucharist during the Easter season. This obligation applied to every baptised man and woman upon reaching the age of discernment, which the Council’s commentators at the time put at around seven years. Although, according to the medieval canonists, this obligation referred to confession of mortal sins, in practice all the faithful were encouraged to go to confession annually. The own parish priest had the duty to see that this commandment was fulfilled by the faithful entrusted to his pastoral care.
 In response to the serious obligation of the faithful, the Constitution Omnis utriusque sexus also imposed important duties on confessors. The confessor was to be prudent towards the confession of the penitent; he was compared to a doctor who must choose the treatment appropriate to the illness. Finally, the 21st Constitution of the Fourth Lateran Council emphasises the obligation of confessional secrecy on the part of the confessor and at the same time introduces severe penalties for a priest who breaks it.
 Many of the provisions described are still relevant in contemporary Church legislation. It was decided to explore the form and narrative of The Hunger, directed by Tony Scott and Only Lovers Left Alive, written by Jim Jarmusch, because both of these works are masterpieces of the romance of the vampire myth with the film medium, which are not particularly popular among researchers of the phenomenon. Bartocha","doi":"10.52097/lst.2023.2.11-24","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52097/lst.2023.2.11-24","url":null,"abstract":"The publications of the late Bishop Adam Lepa (1939–2022) deal with the topic of the galenosphere as an environment of silence and its role in life and in the process of human education. A special and specific form of the galenosphere are those environments of silence that concern the sacrum. In this context, it is possible to speak of the importance of silence obligatory during the celebration of liturgy. The aim of the study is to show the nature and role of the galenosphere characteristic of the liturgy. Starting from an explanation of the concept of the galenosphere, the author of the study then goes on to show the close relationship that develops between silence and mystery on the basis of the analysis of the writings of Odo Casel (1886–1948), a Benedictine monk from the Abbey of Maria Lach in the Rhineland, founder of the mystery theory in sacramentology and an outstanding theologian of the liturgy. In Odo Casel’s optics, silence is a ritual form of personal participation in Christ’s action, which is realised on the sacramental plane, and not merely an expression of subjective piety. The aim of liturgical silence is therefore to pursue the mystery communion with the Logos. The next section of the paper, based on an analysis of the General Introduction to the Roman Missal, presents the location of moments of silence in the structure of the Eucharistic celebration, their theological and liturgical justification and their normative character. The final section of the article is devoted to the typology of liturgical silence. It discusses its following types: reflective, internalizing, meditative and adorative silence. It concludes by pointing out pastoral aspects related to the great importance of silence in the process of implementing the conciliar principle of participatio actuosa. Liturgical silence cannot be identified with “an inner haven in which to hide oneself in some sort of intimate isolation”, but is “a symbol of the presence and action of the Holy Spirit” (Pope Francis, Apostolic Letter Desiderio desideravi, no. 52). Each of them had its own pastoral specifics. In the first two of these, St Adalbert’s parish in Dobroń and the Transfiguration of the Lord parish in Łódź, he served as vicar. In the other two, St Ursula’s and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parishes in Łódź, he held the office of parish priest.
