The researcher utilized a descriptive research methodology in gathering data for this study. The descriptive design is deemed an appropriate method in the analysis and interpretation of the data from the self-made Meranaw Tutul Reading Comprehension. To obtain the data needed, the researcher made use of modified questionnaire. The data gathered were statistically treated using the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS). Frequency, percentage distribution, weighted mean, and standard deviation were used to analyze the data. Class discussion and observation were also used to further solicit the data. The result of the study could give benefits to the teachers on how to make necessary adjustments in the materials to suit the needs and interests of the pupils and to maximize its use in the delivery of teaching and learning. Based on the data gathered, it can be concluded that a pupil who was not competent in his/her first language always experience cognitive difficulties and understanding the text on reading comprehension. A strong foundation on mother tongue serves as a capital for learning the target language.","PeriodicalId":243104,"journal":{"name":"Researchers World","volume":"419 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124207380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Present study aims at examining the personality profile of peer rejected school going children and compare them with the personality of peer accepted children. Peer rejected children were found to be shy in nature, disregarding social rules, involved more in anti-social activities, were emotionally less stable, depended, disobedient and have no originality of their own. Further, they were found to be socially immature and were having more negative and inadequate self-concept that made them more anxious, less adjusted and less effective in the tasks required at school and in their real life. Whereas, the peer accepted children were found to be obedient, emotionally stable, and were more creative in nature. They were also found to be less anxious and well adjusted both at school and home. Present findings indicated that the peer-rejected children are ‘at risk’ and intervention is required to develop positive personality traits so as to be accepted by their peers. An implication of this study has been discussed in the context of providing social skills training to the peer rejected children through ‘peer-mediated intervention’ in the Indian classroom situation.","PeriodicalId":243104,"journal":{"name":"Researchers World","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123111427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The state is exporting apple and its products to almost all the major apple markets in India and other countries particularly to Middle East. In the current competitive global market, the pressure on organisations to find sustainable strategies for delivering value to its stakeholders has grown even stronger. In developing countries particularly India the supply chain of agricultural products is traditional and involves value loss at different stages of supply chain of apple products which escalates the cost of the final product. The present paper intends to focus on “missing values” and the critical issues of supply chain of fresh apples in the study area. Sustainable production, commercialisation and market development are not possible without curbing the different missing values in the whole supply chain of apple. The research highlights different missing values in the supply chain of apple, right from input stage to output stage. With the overcome of these missing values, growth and development of apple sector and subsequently economic development of Kashmir is quite possible.","PeriodicalId":243104,"journal":{"name":"Researchers World","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129860412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This analysis was based on systemic functional linguistic theory focusing on textual metafunction of meaning which is on the level of lexicogrammar. Data informing this study were taken from 10 English theses writing texts written by undergraduate students of Artha Wacana Christian University. Based on the descriptive qualitative analysis it was found out that in taxis relation, hypotaxis was used higher (172) than parataxis (89). This fact indicates that students tend to explain their interpretation using unequal status in order to explain idea clearly. The parataxis consisted of either coordinate or paired conjunction, whereas hypotaxis consisted of subordinate conjunctions. The use of logico-semantic covered expansion (elaboration, extension, and enhancement) was more than projection (locution and idea). The idea used was verbal process. The use of locution of projection was realized by the use of mental process, such as, thought, hypothesize. The use of taxis and logico-semantic in theses writing realized textual meaning of text that is important for a text cohesion. It is suggested that grammar and academic writing lecturers should give more exercises or train students using varieties of taxis and logicosemantic relation to empower students’ writing knowledge.","PeriodicalId":243104,"journal":{"name":"Researchers World","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121310961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Government intends to reduce the NPA level and infuse capital into the public sector banks to meet the liquidity standards. The study has been undertaken to analyze the effect of recapitalization on the performance of Indian public sector banks. The study considered two different events (July 19, 2016 and Oct 24, 2017) and used paired sample t test to analyze the effect of recapitalization on public sector banks. Overall the study found significant difference in Earnings per Share (EPS) and Net non-performing assets (NPA (%)) of selected public sector banks during pre and post announcement of recapitalization. However, the study found no significant difference in performance of Nifty PSU stock index during pre and post recapitalization announcement. Thus, Recapitalization has a greater potential to reduce the NPA of banks and earnings quality of Indian banking sectors. However, the government and RBI must take necessary policy reforms and prevention measures to enhance the profitability of public sectors banks and economic growth of the country.","PeriodicalId":243104,"journal":{"name":"Researchers World","volume":"352 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121623713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
