The growth of e-commerce and its international potential imposed an increased sense of importance to this movement. The new cross-border VAT regime, part of the European Commission’s Digital Single Market Strategy, in which the EU intends to modernize and simplify the VAT system for online sales of goods, seeks to address these problems and strengthen the European Union’s internal market through innovative mechanisms, such as the VAT Single Desk. This article seeks to understand these movements of legislative innovation, evaluating their broad impact on the national legal system and the European Union.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133740235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The civilizational process integrates food as a cultural product and the phenomenon of commensality as an expression of different cultural, social, anthropological and ethnological models. The banquet is a socially structured event and a privileged space for rituals, presentations and performances. A parallel of symbolisms of magnificence and power in the table apparatus will be interpreted, in different historical contexts and using different types of narrative. In the ancient Rome (biographical work “The life of the 12 Caesars” by Suetonius) and at the royal table of the Middle Ages (pictorial narrative of the prenuptial banquet of King João I, based on the illumination of Chronique d ’Angleterre by Jean Wavrin). It is concluded that the table as a microcosm of social rhetoric and of coding hierarchies, perpetuates through time.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131989924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the separation between online and physical channels faints, the omni-channel approach is gaining ground, seeking to deliver a seamless customer experience regardless of the channel. Considering the integration of channels, the impact of mobile technologies, the importance of social media, the changing role of physical stores and the need to respond to new consumer requirements, this article explores the omnichannel phenomenon with a focus in the new generation of digital natives, Generation Z, suggesting questions for further research and opportunities for formulating marketing strategies suited to ongoing developments.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124971008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This concern is valid not only for the environment but also the sustainability’s economic and social dimensions. The clothing industry is adapting business models to meet environmental awareness and demand for sustainable clothing. This study aims to understand how the clothing business and consumer behavior are changing in consideration of sustainability. Specifically, it addresses how fashion consumers consider sustainability when selecting and purchasing clothing, contrasting slow and fast fashion approaches. Firstly, an exploratory quantitative study based on an online survey about slow fashion purchase intention was performed with a sample of 864 Portuguese residents. Analyses of descriptive statistics (means, frequencies, and Cronbach’s alpha) and inferential statistics (chi-square, t-test, and ANOVA) were used. Then, a single-case study of a well-known Portuguese fashion brand concerning its strategy towards sustainability was carried out. The study concludes that there are positive associations between the consumer consideration for sustainability and slow-fashion clothing and the consumer perceived value, purchase intention, willingness to pay a price premium, and recommend slow-fashion products.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125244626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Portuguese diplomatic approach is intriguing since these two states are quite different – not only for their geography and past, but also for their little political or economic interaction. In addressing this issue, two starting points are raised: (i) the advantage of having an important member of NATO in the European Union, which comes from the Eastern Mediterranean and so is peripheral to the European hard core, such as Portugal, located at the other end of Europe and with an Atlantic dimension; (ii) the advantage of creating economic and commercial links with states having important markets outside the European Union, and the traditional areas of Portuguese historical-cultural relationships. To test these two hypotheses a qualitative type methodology was used. It is based on a review, albeit selective, of the scarce existing scientific literature on the subject as well as on the analysis of Portuguese foreign policy documents, including public statements of Portuguese and Turkish leaders. Thus, Portuguese foreign policy towards Turkey will be analysed, with particular focus on the last two decades, when Turkey became an official candidate for accession and negotiations were opened with the European Union.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114464508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are the “forest baths” or “shinrin-yoku”, created by the Commissioner of the Japanese Forestry Agency, Tomohide Akiyama. Several scientists and some clinicians have carried out studies, concluding how trees can help us for better health, for the increasing energy and happiness levels, reducing stress levels and preventing diseases. Examples of such scholars are Japanese: Dr. Qing Li (author of the book “shinrin-yoku”) and Masafumi Miyazaki, who explored this topic in depth and on credible scientific grounds. According to Dr. Qing Li, this practice means bathing in the atmosphere of the forest or absorbing the forest through one’s senses, establishing a man-nature connection.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116530388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the use of telemedicine contributes to an increased risk of breaching personal data, especially special data such as health data. There is a great challenge to strike a balance between the increasingly frequent use of telemedicine (a non-regression reality) and the protection of personal data, especially health data. This challenge of conforming the requirements of protection of the fundamental right to health protection with the protection of privacy, personal data, can be achieved with an effort of legal provision, of new regulation of this reality, accompanied by extra care when using the telemedicine, in order to avoid the realization of the risk of violation of the aforementioned data.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128147439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Until the middle of the 20th century, in the north of Portugal, a rural society prevailed. It needed to defend itself, be it from wild animals or serious altercations over issues such as water, land, women or any other reason. It was amidst this social context that the Jogo do Pau came into being, with its crude and virile technique. With the opening up of rural society to urbanisation and the subsequent emigration of its people, this art form made its way into the cities and adapted itself accordingly. In this article, we aim to present a brief journey through portuguese literature. Methodologically we chose to quote three works, and, in this way, create a route to transport the reader to Cabeceiras de Basto – a municipality which has applied for the recognition of Jogo do Pau as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Portugal. A bibliographical review and the fieldwork carried out by the authors within the scope of the study to be submitted in the aforementioned application, have been used.","PeriodicalId":240613,"journal":{"name":"Percursos & Ideias","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128884377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
