NIRS system can be constructed low cost, portable and easy to use. Given that approximately 80% of blood chromophores are water, it is particularly important to the effect of water concentration change on measurement data. In the present study, we developed a wireless NIRS system that detects not only the concentration changes of oxy-hemoglobin (HbO) and deoxy-hemoglobin (HbR) during mental activity but also that of water (H2O); additionally, it implements a water-correction algorithm that improves the HbO and HbR signal strengths manifest during an arithmetic task. The system comprises a microcontroller, an optical probe, tri-wavelength light emitting diodes (LEDs), photodiodes, a WiFi communication module and a battery. System functionality was tested by means of arterial occlusion and arithmetic-task experiments, performed with healthy male subjects.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125569506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The basic idea is smoke has a highly varying chrominance/luminance texture in long periods. Since smoke has no shape, it also creates high shape changes in long periods. In this paper, two kinds of histogram are employed to observe change in luminance/chrominance texture and shape. Linearly interpolated chrominance/luminance subtraction image is used as input image for periodical analysis after thresholding. Intensity histogram which consists of 256 bins and oriented gradients histogram with 8 bins are employed for this purpose. Smoke generally creates transparent textures in which histogram bins create high variations. By considering the algorithmic cost and nature of smoke, periodical normalized cross-correlation analysis is performed in histogram bins instead of two-dimensional image context which makes algorithm more speedy and efficient for smoke detection. Experiments with a large number of smoke and non-smoke video sequences give promising results.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128792229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the use in harsh environments, the communication system should provide reliable radio links and low power to allow battery powered devices. In this context, WirelessHART, ISA SP100.11a and WIA-PA protocols were developed to meet these requirements. The standards of these protocols define a minimum number of RF fixed power and selectable only by commissioning. Within this scenario, it is important to adapt RF power modulation, a procedure already used in several communication protocols to minimize the energy consumption of transceivers while maintaining link quality. In this paper, three ways to modulate RF power are analyzed within WirelessHART field devices. A specific approach that works in a decentralized way is developed and the results show it can save 50% of energy in certain cases. The proposal has the extra advantage to be compatible with the standard.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"165 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128353625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a typical product, this supply chain extends from a raw material source through the production and distribution system to the point of consumption and the associated reverse logistics. The logistical activities are comprised of freight transport, storage, inventory management, materials handling and all related information processing. This paper analyzes the green management system of logistics enterprise for Thailand and advances the concept of Green Logistics, which should be held by the public. In addition, it proposes that the government should strengthen its supervision and support for green logistics, and companies should construct self-disciplined green logistics management systems and corresponding processes, a reverse logistics management system and a modern green logistics information collection and management system.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"201 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116159978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is particularly useful for manufacturers because of the low programming efforts. However, this method often requires compliance control that is generally not available in conventional position-controlled industrial robots. Addressing this issue from the perspective of simulation-driven engineering, we introduce in this contribution a novel approach for interactive physical robot guidance based upon simulated adaptable joint admittance control. The developed simulation-based controller is driven in real-time with real external joint torques estimated during interaction with a physical robot. Since the simulator closely replicates the dynamic behavior of the real robot, it enriches and enhances the robot guidance by providing unique and reliable information on the robot that is useful to the operator. The simulated compliant joint trajectories are fed back into the real robot controller to enable full-body guidance. By opening new and practical perspectives in assisted physical guidance of position-controlled robots, this approach hightlights the effectiveness of control-by-3D-simulation [1] as pursued by eRobotics [2] to address challenging issues in robotics and automation. Simulation and experimental case studies conducted on a physical 7 DoF KUKA LWR 4+ robot manipulator are provided to illustrate the performance of the approach.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116104731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional dual half bridge converter has problem of high voltage spike when switches are turned off. To solve this problem, the resonant capacitor and the resonant inductor are added to the proposed isolated bi-directional converter. And full-bridge converter is also operated under zero voltage switching (ZVS) condition using resonance components. Since all switches of proposed converter are achieved ZVS condition, efficiency of the proposed topology will be increased. The DGs considered in this paper are supposed to be Photovoltaic (PV) generators, due to the growing demand of renewable energies. However, high penetration of DGs may cause considerable voltage fluctuations and deviations from the statutory limits. Thus, based on predicted values of load demand and PV generation, a set of voltage references of tap transformers and DGs is optimized, using Genetic Algorithms (GA) optimization method, to reduce the losses while keeping the distribution voltage within an acceptable range. For that, the three phase power flow equations, which must be satisfied, are solved using Newton-Raphson method. The voltage control references are optimized for every preset period of time. However, in the meanwhile the voltage may fluctuate due to the PV power nature. Thus, a real time voltage control is applied on the DGs inverters exploiting their available reactive power based on the voltage drop. According to local voltage measurements at each node containing DG, fuzzy logic controllers adjust the voltage references of the optimal schedule. Twenty-four-hour data are used to simulate a 14-bus distribution system with unbalanced three-phase loads in 6 nodes to verify the effectiveness of the method.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126226287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the typical resonant converter topologies for contactless power transferring systems, Series-Series Resonant Converter (SSRC) and Series-Parallel Resonant Converter (SPRC) are widely used in number of power electronic applications. Because of the simple strategy and superior response irrespective of coupling factor and load changes, SSRC topology is widely applied in contactless transformer applications. However, in seriously low coupling and wide air-gap applications, the switching frequency must be increased to several MHz range in order to operate the converter at the optimized operating region. Unless some high-cost, low resistance windings are selected, due to skin effect and proximity effect, the ac conduction loss will be dangerously high when the converter is operating at the high frequency range. To solve this problem, a modified and improved topology of series-series parallel resonant converter for wide-gap (23 mm) contactless power transfer applications with the coupling rate of 0.15 is proposed.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128184357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
