The use-cases were selected from topics and ideas that cooperating companies considered promising for their business in the future and were later used as diploma or bachelor’s theses’ topics. Later, we extracted basic knowledge and skills requirements in specific fields like soft skills, project skills, software development skills, quality assurance skills, business skills, data management skills and designed two new subjects (classes) that covered the knowledge. Our evaluation over two years, during which the classes were taught, shows better capabilities of students to adapt to company standards and require less additional education from the employer’s side. We also present the progress and results of a student project that attended both new classes.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133218139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rehabilitation area has been experiencing a huge progress in recent years. This is due to an increase in the number of patients with various types of disability, technological advance and large number of available devices. One of the rehabilitation sub-areas is the rehabilitation of patients with motor impairment.This type of rehabilitation often involves different virtual reality or augmented reality systems. Such systems are in need of accurate, inexpensive and user-friendly devices acting as controllers. In this paper we propose a system controlled via electromyography. This system is designed to aid rehabilitation of patients with impaired finger control and movements. The electromyography data are measured by Myo bracelet, processed and classified by support vector machines classifier during the offline training.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":" 56","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133017180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That SB must be adjusted to the voltage of the EB, in order to supply the same amount of electric energy as when the system functions at its mathematically detected maximum power operating point, on a MPP command strategy. This newly discussed technical solution could be less expensive, compared to the actual one which involves a SB, a DC-DC converter and the EB. It is a cost reduction because that DC-DC converter is no longer used at all. It requires a computer aided model for implementing the current-voltage characteristics. The results of this model will be compared with the classic DC-DC converter solution results, in order to prove validity.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126422922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensitive data from a result of collecting sensor data needs attentions to address privacy issues. We present a privacy-preserving model to protect data aggregation between sensor gateway and storage servers. Our proposed scheme is designed for decentralized networks and passwordless by obfuscating sensor data. We design, implement and evaluate a practical privacy-preserving system using deep learning autoencoder with convolutional neural network architecture. We do a statistical analysis and perform simulation on computer and IoT board machines. Evaluation process involves training and testing phases with a dataset. We measure system accuracy and computation time. The simulation and experimental results show that privacy-preserving-based deep learning model can address privacy issues on data aggregation and guarantee scalability and performance on applications.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132825059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focusing on the heating and electricity sectors, a methodology for portfolio optimization has been developed in order to identify the optimal energy mix in terms of technology alternatives and energy sources. As a base case, a pure economic assessment was done considering the investment costs, the net present values and the operation and maintenance (O&M) costs. The optimization was extended by involving additional factors in the next steps, adding carbon prices and the external costs of the environmental and human health (physiological) impacts to the model. An aggregate approach is applied to reduce complexity; national aggregation was chosen for the electricity sector while building typological groups and local geographical entities were defined for the heating sector. The level of saturation of different technology alternatives in the market is modeled in the proposed methodology, as well. The mathematical formulation of the optimization problem was given as a non-linear case of the distribution problem.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114512672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First part of the article is devoted to the possibility of exact 3D turbine blade geometry CAD modeling and blade meshing, which is based on real turbine blade. The contribution highlights the possibilities of using ANSYS APDL and Creo Simulate for calculating the natural frequencies of high turbine blade. Another aim is to compare individual software based on final calculated values of turbine blade natural frequencies. The task is to evaluate the quality of the results in comparison to the required time for solution and creation of the mathematical finite element model in particular programs. The results in terms of natural frequencies are necessary for appropriate jet engine operation. Natural frequencies cannot be with excited frequency in operational range of jet engine. The results can be used to create Campbell diagram.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115033873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, modern turbine control systems implement additional features that allow efficient operation throughout the widest possible range, reduction of crew workload by enabling automated sequences, furthermore it can provide sophisticated diagnostic capabilities as well. The present article focuses on an irregular combination of a micro-scale turbojet engine that is intended to be controlled via Turbofan Power Ratio, originally developed for high bypass ratio turbofans. The primary aim of this paper is to prove through measurement data that the proposed parameter is suitable for the intended control. As a secondary goal, a two-degree-of-freedom PID is designed based on identification of a particular micro turbojet with a fixed exhaust nozzle available at the Author’s Department. The paper includes a comparison with previous control laws and highlights the benefits of the newly developed control system.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132294743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are usually using a monolithic approach as the engines are solely meant to be end-to-end tools for game development without considering their benefits in other areas that may need some of the engine’s features but will not be published as a game. This paper presents a novel fully functional game engine with 3D rendering and physics capabilities that can be used as a lightweight toolbox for games and other not necessarily game related projects.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126629543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a number of various applications and its potential is still growing. Robotics is also one of perspective areas for IoT but it has some specific requirements. The concept of the so-called intelligent space (IS) is especially convenient for robotic applications, which can profit from spatially distributed and mutually networked sensors. Firstly, it is not necessary to carry all necessary sensors on board and hereby robots become much cheaper and secondly, such a solution is able to better predict occurrence of specific events, too. A ubiquitous robot, known as Ubibot, is an issue of interconnecting of IoT and IS. In this paper we proposed our own concept of Ubibot, where for navigation purposes the so-called fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) was used. For adjusting FCM parameters our own adaptation method based on evolutionary algorithms was used. The proposed system was experimentally tested and obtained results were analysed.","PeriodicalId":240256,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 17th World Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics (SAMI)","volume":"505 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114180763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
