She's good at capturing marginalized societal groups, confronting the harsh realities and ugliness. Her work influenced people's contemplation of photographic art, while simultaneously subjecting her to significant ethical controversies. Arbus's photographs evoke feelings of terror and discomfort, but at the same time, she shed light on the people and experiences hidden in the shadows, revealing the greatness and sacredness of suffering and its essence. This gave rise to an aesthetic of alienation that contradicts traditional aesthetics. In Arbus's photographic works, there is a juxtaposition and fusion of oppositions between art and morality. Traditional aesthetics pursue happiness, harmony, and beauty, whereas Arbus's photographs present pain, distortion, and ugliness. Consequently, some argue that Arbus violates the moral principles of beauty. However, on the other hand, Arbus's works also bring visibility, attention, and understanding to marginalized groups, achieving a fusion of art and morality in a divergent way.","PeriodicalId":240252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Higher Education Research","volume":"105 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139628964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article aims to explore effective guidance strategies for the home-kindergarten collaboration in nurturing introverted preschool children through theoretical analysis and empirical research. Firstly, the main influencing factors for introverted children, including family environment and individual characteristics, are identified. Subsequently, a series of guidance strategies are proposed, encompassing stress-adaptive educational approaches, diversified home-kindergarten collaboration activities, opportunities for positive interactions, self-expression platforms, and motivational education. The research results demonstrate that these strategies effectively assist introverted preschool children in engaging in social activities, enhancing their sense of self-worth, and stimulating their interest in learning. The findings of this study not only offer guidance for parents and teachers in better understanding and educating introverted preschool children but also provide a new theoretical basis for research on their education.","PeriodicalId":240252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Higher Education Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115810083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has great significance for enhancing universities' humanistic care and improving college students' self-awareness. Under the new media perspective, the mental health education of college students can achieve online classes and popularization, which can significantly improve the quality and level of mental health education. However, it is worth noting that there are still issues in the current mental health education for college students, such as insufficient attention from students, insufficient frequency of effective interaction between teachers and students, and inadequate construction of mental health teachers. In the context of new media, university teachers need to center on new media technology to establish a scientifically sound mental health education system. They should comprehensively utilize the advantages of network technology to enhance the effectiveness of mental health education, thereby laying a solid foundation for the mental health and robust growth of college students.","PeriodicalId":240252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Higher Education Research","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132589162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This essay examines the factors that influence course selection and their impact on students' learning outcomes by administering the MBTI personality test to undergraduate students in universities in Hong Kong and conducting a systematic sorting and analysis of their elective courses based on their personality types, which shows that elective courses in comprehensive subjects can bring significant benefits when students connect their course selection with their personalities. It is essential to develop a personalized course selection regime that plays to students' strengths, improves their shortcomings, and takes different characters into account. Elective courses and career development are mutually dependent, and universities should assist students in selecting appropriate courses and managing their career planning. Effective communication between teachers and students is crucial for creating a positive atmosphere for college life, and a supportive academic environment that encourages responsible course selection can help students succeed in their academic pursuits and prepare them for their future careers.","PeriodicalId":240252,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Higher Education Research","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114336380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even modern medicine combined with VR for disease diagnosis and treatment is no longer a fantasy, and the launch of virtual classrooms has opened a new door for medical education. For the clinical surgery teaching of gynecology and obstetrics, the teaching expectation is very high. Clinical surgery teaching hopes to achieve the best teaching results in the shortest time, and rapid growth requires a lot of training and accumulation. In actual clinical teaching work, there is a gap between reality and ideals. Regular trainees do not have many practical opportunities. But VR technology is likely to solve this problem, and can even be extended to the surgical teaching for interns in obstetrics and gynecology rotation, general practitioners, etc. In addition, the application of robot-assisted surgery technology in obstetrical and gynecological surgeries is becoming more and more mature, which brings new possibilities for VR technology-assisted clinical surgery teaching.
