This is particularly true in large cities which have a considerable accommodation capacity and also a large stock of flats. The aim is to indicate to what extent short-term rentals are influencing the tourist accommodation market in Warsaw. The idea behind the study is the assumption that the differences revealed between those using hotels or such flats will provide an answer to the question of the influence of the latter on Warsaw»s tourist market. Such information should be useful in the marketing activities of interested parties and in the policies of the city authorities. Analysis of the data from a survey carried out in 2021 using the CHAID decision tree indicates that the choice of accommodation type was mainly determined by situational variables. The only statistically significant demographic predictor relates to a greater interest in flats among those aged up to 34 years old. Planned expenditure per person per overnight stay proved to be a statistically significant predictor only for non-residents of Poland, with the cut-off amount set higher than the median interval for this segment. Flats were more often chosen by people travelling in a larger party or alone and those planning to stay longer than four nights, thus looking for a different offer than that of traditional city hotels.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124744258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The survey conducted among the disabled helped to identify quality gaps in the provision of tourism services, taking into account their complementarity and accessibility at every stage of delivery. The method of Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and basic measures of descriptive statistics were used to analyze empirical data. The study will help to indicate to what extent the tourist experience of a disabled person and the type of disability affect the assessment of the significance (importance) and inconvenience of selected attributes of tourist services. The results of the research can be used by entrepreneurs to analyze the quality and reliability of services provided by their partners and the behavior and needs of the disabled in tourism. They will also be useful for local and regional authorities responsible for ensuring the competitiveness and inclusiveness of tourism regions.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115680963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study mainly focuses on eco-tourism and collected data from tourists travelling to China. Convenience sampling was used for data collection and a questionnaire used from previous studies. AMOS software analyzed the data collected from 341 respondents. The results highlighted that there is a significant and positive relationship between overall service quality and customer satisfaction. Moreover, the presence of travel experience as a moderator strengthens this relationship. This research is limited to eco-tourism and future studies could be done from the perspective of any other country with a large sample size.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129597305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An example in the United States are the rail trails where decommissioned rail corridors are being improved to provide the benefits of non-motorized transportation systems for recreation and exercise, and the daily commute to school, work and shopping. Yet despite these benefits some still argue the presence of the rail trail as a NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard). To address this argument, we calculate the economic benefit to homeowners living in proximity to rail trails over a ten year period to observe the dramatic changes in value over time. It was hypothesized that there would be a change in housing values based on proximity to greenways. This article will begin with an overview and a literature review on research related to greenways and home values, describe the context of this particular case study in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, United States, provide an overview of the methods employed for the calculations and analysis, and conclude with some reflections and the potential limitations that should be considered for undertaking future research on this topic.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116057955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a niche tourism segment with enormous ability to emerge as the most in demand for coming years. This study carries out a bibliometric analysis to identify the prominent journals, their characteristics and total citations, trending keywords, emerging topics etc, in wellness tourism. With 159 articles extracted from the Web of Science database, it was observed that the word ‘health’ was often used, and that ‘medical tourism’ was the most popular topic. China takes the lead among world nations for having conducted most research in this field. The findings of the study could be beneficial to the research community, academia, the tourism industry and policymakers. The publication acknowledges its limitations but gives the implications for further research.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116345267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concepts of “creative industries”, “creative tourism”, and signs of creative tourism (economic, social and ecological sustainability) have been specified. An analysis has been made, and the issues and opportunities for introducing creative industries into tourism have been determined. It is emphasized that creative tourism, as a self-sufficient product, easily changes format and subject matter depending on the objectives set, while remaining creative in its nature and purpose. The main opportunities for the development of tourist services and creative tourism priority areas have been outlined. Recommendations for introducing creative technologies by relevant government institutions and tourism enterprises have been suggested.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126890140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are no empirical studies that have explored the perceptions of tourists in the development of night market tourism. More importantly, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, issues of night market products and services, and tourists’ opinions about night markets have become a challenge. This study aims to examine the relationships between attitude, subjective norm (SN), perceived behavioural control (PBC), perceived without travel risk, and visit intention towards night markets aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative approach was used using an online survey method involving 387 respondents followed by subsequent empirical testing of the proposed hypotheses, which was performed using SPSS and AMOS. The results indicate that attitude, SN, PBC, and perceived without travel risk positively influence intention. Furthermore, SN also displayed a significant positive influence on attitude, PBC, and perceived without travel risk. Finally, the theoretical and practical implications, as well as limitations were discussed.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"168 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124707433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study is to develop and validate for the Portuguese tourists two scales to measure motivations to travel and its constraints, considering theories of needs and constraints, and to examine differences according to tourists’ socio-demographic characteristics. The scales were determined using a non-linear principal component analysis followed by bootstrap confirmatory factor analysis, and differences were examined using parametric tests. A six-dimensional model for motivations and a five-dimensional model for constraints were validated, both with good overall fit. Motives linked to culture, intellectual curiosity and cultural knowledge stand out with high levels of relevance. Lack of resources and other commitments are the most important constraints. Significant differences were found in almost all characteristics. The results reveal influential dimensions on travel decisions which are of utmost importance for the design of the cultural offer of destinations.","PeriodicalId":240159,"journal":{"name":"Turyzm/Tourism","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125442331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We employ four main pillars: enabling environment; travel and tourism policy and enabling conditions; infrastructure; and natural & cultural resources adopted from the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum 2019. We conducted fieldwork in four provinces, namely Aceh, Bali, Central Java, and North Sulawesi, by spreading  questionnaires and giving semi-structured interviews to obtain respondents’ insights. The poverty gap index measures the intensity level of poverty by employing an expenditure-based poverty line. This study discovers that infrastructure, natural & cultural resources, and enabling environment support rural tourism development in each province. We also find that the excellent performance of rural tourism competitiveness seems to have minimal impact on poverty. Bali has become the major icon of tourism in Indonesia; ironically, its poverty level is relatively higher than in other areas. Meanwhile, Central Java ranks as the second most competitive province after Bali, while the poverty level is the lowest. In order to offer an innovative curriculum, systems thinking and knowledge from the intersection of many areas including tourism, geography, information and communication technology, management, teaching methodology and psychology are required. The adaptation of curricula should also take into account the experience of universities outside Poland which have often successfully implemented programmes covering sustainable development issues for many years and have feedback on the satisfaction of both graduates and employers.
