Few studies with conflicting results have been conducted on the effect of perinatal asphyxia and thyroid hormones \u0000METHODS: A total of 96 newborns (46 patients with HIE and 50 controls) were included in the study. Electroencephalography (EEG) results, cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), Sarnat Stages, and the presence of seizures of the HIE group were recorded. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (fT4) levels of all cases were also measured between 5-10 days. Patients with HIE were separated into 3 groups according to the fT4 (≤1.52 ng / dL, 1.52-1.84 ng / dL, and ≥1.84 ng / dL), and TSH (≤2.56 IU / mL. 2.56-5.3 1IU / Ml, and ≥5.31 IU / mL) levels. \u0000RESULTS: All the newborns with seizures were in the 1st or 2nd tertiles of fT4, none of those with high fT4 (>1.84 ng/dL), and the difference was statistically significant (x2=6.61; p=0.036). A negative correlation was determined between fT4 level and duration of hospitalization (=-0.43; p=0.03), duration of respiratory support (r=-0.32; p=0.029), duration of intubation (r=-0.40; p=0.006), and time to full oral feeding (r=-0.40; p=0.006). The TSH level was only correlated with the duration of hospitalization (r=-0.34, p=0.02). \u0000CONCLUSIONS: Free T4 level may be used as a prognostic marker in newborns with HIE. Further multicenter, larger, and prospective studies are needed to support and confirm these findings.

Although walking and balance parameters are important in functional independence, the level of independence is a complex condition affected by many factors. The aim of this cross-sectional study is to investigate the relationship between dual-task performance and functional independence levels in stroke patients. \u0000Material and Methods: 26 hemiplegic patients were included in this research in a tertiary healthcare institution. The participants’ independence levels were evaluated by the functional independence mesasure(FIM). Single task performance, motor dual-task performance, and cognitive dual-task performance were evaluated by calculating walking time in a 10-meter walking test. The relationship between dual-task interference and functional independence level was examined by Spearman correlation analysis. \u0000Results: The motor dual-task interference was found as 0.7 (0.0-0.26) and the cognitive dual-task interference was found as 0.19 (0.05-0.38). There was a negative, moderate, and statistically significant correlation between the FIM score and the motor dual-task interference (r = -0.48, p = 0.01). However, no significant correlation was detected between FIM score and cognitive dual-task interference (p = 0.16). \u0000Conclusion: The level of functional independence in stroke patients is associated with motor dual-task interference. Rehabilitation programs that improve dual-task performance can increase the functional independence levels of stroke patients.

It was found that individuals with chronic disease had lower self-care agency and exercise efficacy than those without the disease. It was determined that the self-care agency and exercise efficacy of individuals diagnosed with COPD for more than ten years decreased. \u0000Conclusion: It was found that it is essential to monitor the self-care agency and exercise efficacy of COPD patients during COVID-19, and the self-care agency and exercise efficacy of patients decreased during this period. \u0000Keywords: COPD, Exercise Self-Regulatory Efficacy, Self-Care Agency, COVID-19

We found that positive symptoms score was significantly negatively associated with FCoV-19S scores, whereas negative symptoms score was positively associated with the FCoV-19S scores in the bivariate model. We found that positive symptoms predicted fear of COVID-19 negatively and significantly, while general psychopathology symptoms predicted fear of COVID-19 positively and significantly.. \u0000Conclusion: We think it is necessary to develop situation-specific rehabilitation interventions for this group, which has become more vulnerable to the COVID-19 outbreak. Between April and May 2019, 12 volunteer young women aged 17-24 were included in the study. \u0000Results: The qualitative data were subjected to content analysis, and the main themes were determined. In the content analysis of the interviews, 7 main themes were determined: fear, coping methods, risk perception, carcinophobia, spirituality, healthy lifestyle behaviors, role change. It was observed that the participants frequently used statements that genetic predisposition and stress are risk factors for cancer, cancer negatively affects roles and responsibilities, and they believed the importance of early diagnosis. In this study, young women with a family history of breast and/or gynecological cancer were found to have higher cancer risk perceptions. \u0000Conclusion: The familial cancer history, especially when managed well in high-risk populations, contributes to individuals to acquire healthy lifestyle behaviors and gain the ability to make conscious decisions.
