The main goal of the research part is analyze selected factors connected with the demographic stagnation (regression), that have an impact on mothers’ activity (or lack of activity) on the labour market. The article is a starting point for the analysis of guaranteed basic income for women working as housewives (those who claim: ‘I want to have children’ but, as a result of economic considerations intertwined with the problem of social security, later state ‘I have to work’), as potential social policy’s instrument which can be applied for the purpose of changing the unfavorable demographic structure.","PeriodicalId":239502,"journal":{"name":"Refleksje. It begins by defining what democratic legitimacy means in the context of policy. The article argues for a broader understanding of legitimacy, based upon of the relationship between political information and political participation. The article then goes on to explore the extent to which democratic legitimacy exists at the European level and at the national level. The article concurs with existing assessments of European sources of legitimacy, namely that is a very little legitimization. Indeed, it was outside the institution of the Unity Party. Within the vicinity of the church, people were to create a feeling of solidarity between those aggrieved by the system and the first grassroots activists. During 1989 and 1990 Lutheran church became the starting point for mass demonstrations and a peaceful revolution. In addition, the invitation of the party and the opposition to committees’ meeting on Dec. 7, 1989 was published on behalf of the Association of Evangelical Churches.","PeriodicalId":239502,"journal":{"name":"Refleksje. {"title":"Multitasking medialny","authors":"Kamala Kuźmicka","doi":"10.14746/r.2010.2.03","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14746/r.2010.2.03","url":null,"abstract":"Media multitasking, defined as audience behaviour when a person is using two or more media sources simultaneously, is a new phenomenon. Now, only 19% of young people are not multitasking. The way information from multiple media streams is processed is different from the normal information processing means. User’s attention is divided between tasks which makes processing of information shallow. The extent of users exposure to each media source creates problems for media research and advertisers as assessing of the exposure level of is very complicated. However, there has been very little research conducted to give a better understanding users’ interaction with each media source. Further research will identify the benefits of multitasking and allow advertisers to target users effectively.","PeriodicalId":239502,"journal":{"name":"Refleksje. Because of the new media, these functions are far more different today than 20 years ago. Traditional journalism is changing because of the Internet. At the same time, it is also coping with the new reality of presenting news. The question is: Can we call it the new journalism? Journamorfosis in Poland is definitely slower than in other countries. However, it is happening. There is higher control over journalists, even taking away their duties. At the time, EU is perceived as an institution guaranteeing the preservation of democratic values in Europe and promoting them both on the continent and beyond. This article discusses both points of view, with emphasis placed on the democratic deficit aspect, measures undertaken to eliminate the negative consequences of the process, as well as the history of the concept: starting from the single European Act, through general elections to the European Parliament, and formal solutions leading to the gradual increase of EU powers. It is assumed in the article that the problem of democratic deficit has persisted in the European Union, especially since several changes were introduced to the political system of EU after The Treaty of Lisbon. As result, the key question that must be answered is whether under the provisions of the Treaty the EU will strengthen its democratic legitimacy. This article attempts to provide an answer, analyzing the role of national parliaments in the new institutional and normative reality and in the context of the democratic legitimacy deficit.","PeriodicalId":239502,"journal":{"name":"Refleksje.
