This research is grounded in the interviews of their experiences, which reveal a desire to see change at the border, the sense of dehumanization of migrant communities, and the role their faith serves in understanding migration. Additionally, the participants discuss how their own immigrant heritage is both similar and different to what they saw at the border and how this relates to the broader sense of solidarity among migrant communities. This study has relevance to the current discussion about immigration, integration, faith, and human rights, particularly in the U.S. context. Through the interviews, the common humanity and immigration history becomes clear.

In these consequences, the focus of the present study is based on the study of the nexus of the culture of migration and globalization as the sense of safe zone concept in migration in the case of migration from South Asia to Gulf countries and beyond. The methodology of the study is based on ethnographic study through conducting multiple round field surveys in India and abroad from February 2015 to December 2019. Findings show that consequences of depth penetration of the culture of migration emerged as a “safe zone” where migrants find them self in a secure position to access guarantee of better jobs and life in the context of the role of migration. These consequences created socioeconomic and cultural transformation from root to destination as the formation of the cultural diaspora of migration in the context of the safe zone concept in migration. Therefore, the findings of the study develop an understanding concerning around the study of the new concept of migration as a safe zone in migration.

Discussions are evolving around the factors driving coaches' migration, their experiences, and perceptions held by other sports stakeholders. This study aimed to explore the decision-making processes of coaches regarding migration and their views on the phenomenon. A total of 68 coaches, both with and without international experience, participated in the study. Data collection involved an online survey comprising closed-ended questions. For data analysis, we employed a One-Way ANOVA to draw comparisons across independent variables. Interestingly, coaches with international experience have been more frequently approached with offers than their counterparts without such experience. Nevertheless, the majority of the coaches did not perceive foreign coaches as essential to sports development. Coaches with international backgrounds expressed a belief that native coaches should exclusively coach their national teams. Overall, coaches did not highly value international placements or experience. These unexpected findings have significant implications for coach training programs globally. The results are further explored in the context of the expertise required to work in a globalised sports setting and interact with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

In recent years, due to the war in Syria and the withdrawal of military forces from Afghanistan, a new wave of immigration arrived through the eastern borders of Türkiye. In this study, the legal basis of the neighborhoods closed to migration is examined only with reference to the city of Istanbul, supported by a literature review method. Istanbul was chosen because it encompasses many identities in Türkiye and is one of the most cosmopolitan centres and it is the largest immigration-receiving city. The aim of the study is to reveal the sociological connection of the phenomenon of migration with the law in Türkiye by exploring past studies to explain to what extent the legal regulations affect regional migration and motivations behind.

Research indicates that Syrian refugees are highly vulnerable and likely to experience various mental diseases due to forced migration and war-related traumatic events. Also, there are geographical-based differences in the psychological stress outcomes of refugees. The objective of the research is to examine the differences in self-reported PTSD due to circumstances of forced migration among Syrian refugees living in Turkey (N=777 respondents) by their living city. To explore which group of factors had the most significant influence on PTSD, I conducted multiple logistic regression analyses for 777 respondents. Considering logistic analysis results, self-reporting post-traumatic stress is more common among Syrian refugees who live in large cities (İstanbul/İzmir) and Syrian border conservative cities (Şanlıurfa), have poorer self-expressed health status, experience war-related situations, feel unsafe in their neighbourhood and receive less support from their families when faced with problems. These findings point to the importance of assessing self-reported PTSD due to the circumstances of refugees. Furthermore, these results show that refugees feel the burden of the experiences they carry differently.

As the rate of women’s participation in the labor force through paid work has increased, their mobility from rural to urban areas or from one part of the world to another has also increased. In this process, also known as the feminization of migration, women have become geographically more mobile than ever before in history. With this process, women started to migrate independently from their family members across national borders to work in a variety of jobs, particularly domestic work and sex work. The diversion of domestic work (caring for the sick, children and elderly, cleaning, etc.) to women in poorer countries through the global division of labor has played an important role in this change. This division of labor, which arises from the combination of the gendered character of domestic work and cheap female labor, has necessitated the geographical mobility of poorer women from all over the world. As a result, women have also begun to engage in geographical mobility on a global scale. In addition to these reasons that push women to migrate, developments in destination countries that create demand for migrant women’s labor are also important.\u0000Today, almost every part of the world has become a destination point for women migrating for domestic work. Especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Türkiye has also become one of these target countries. However, migrant women have faced various problems in Türkiye, both due to deficiencies in existing regulations and political attitudes towards migrants. These women, most of whom work as domestic workers, have been at the center of problems arising from both the migration system and the specific conditions of domestic work.\u0000In this study, the problems faced by female migrant domestic workers in Türkiye are discussed within the aforementioned framework. In particular, the main axis of the discussion is how domestic workers are affected by legal regulations in Türkiye. The study interrogates how women’s migration to Türkiye has developed within the existing migration system and examines the migration experience of migrant women working as domestic workers in Türkiye.

This paper deals with the gender sensitive approach to migration based on a study of the challenges and adaptation strategies of Ukrainian refugees in Germany. In June 2022, an online poll of 430 Ukrainian refugees was conducted by the author that included two open questions about the problems refugees faced since their arrival to Germany. The subsequently undertaken content-analysis on a grounded theory basis allows the author to describe the variety of topics, which occurred in the answers and group the challenges of respondents accordingly: adaptation, uncertainty future, separation, lack of social connections, complicated emotional state. The difference in social-demographic portraits of Ukrainian refugees (i.e. mostly female, mostly with children…) from the previous waves of refugees (i.e. Syria, Afghanistan) gives the opportunity to identify the specificity of female refugees' needs. The paper added to research of emotional challenges of refugees that are shaped by the experience of grief, loss, shame, guilt, fear, pain, loneliness, helplessness. Challenges are considered to be resources for women’s empowerment, providing changes in power structures and social institutions.

This paper highlights results from a rapid assessment undertaken in six countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to inform the implementation of the “SRHR-HIV Knows No Borders” project. In-depth interviews were conducted with 16 adult foreign migrants residing in 10 high migration communities where the project was implemented. Data were analysed thematically using an inductive approach. Respondents were found to have good knowledge about HIV, STIs, and male condoms, although they lacked awareness about other contraceptive methods. Many respondents reported barriers to accessing SRH services, mostly as a result of a lack of legal documentation and due to discrimination from healthcare workers. SRH interventions among foreign migrant populations in the Southern African region should focus on developing awareness about contraceptives and ensuring inclusivity within the healthcare system.

International remittances flowing into developing economies has gained an increasing importance regarding the volume of these flows, their importance for the financial sector as well as their overall impact at the economic and social levels.\u0000Based upon a review of theoretical and empirical literature, this paper uses an econometric model based on the basic growth poverty model suggested by (Ravallion, 1997) and (Ravallion & Chen, 1997) accompanied by the frameworks postulated by (Adams & Page, 2005) to assess the impact of remittances in terms of reducing the level of poverty. It is based on panel data of eight Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries (SEMEC) (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and West bank and Gaza) over the period 2000-2018. In most of these countries, remittances represent the largest foreign exchange earnings and represent an average of 8% of GDP.\u0000The results suggest that remittances have a positive impact on growth and therefore contribute through income to poverty reduction. This impact becomes significant as the level of remittances relative to GDP increases.
