In this paper, new voltage feedback type VDS controller (gate driver) has proposed to realize modified switching transient to increase stability. In the step-down converter applied propose VDS controller, harmonics reduction effect is obtained about 10 dB in AM radio band. Then, output voltage and switching loss characteristics was measured on the step-down converter applied proposed method. It is verified that these characteristics are same to conventional converter. In addition, the proposed method was applied to H-bridge step-down converter for DC motor drive application. It is verified that MT-PWM is able to realize in H-bridge step-down converter without any major modification through simulations.","PeriodicalId":239142,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115072880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The membership of fuzzy logic controller is designed based on the bode diagram analysis to achieve a good stability performance of the controller system in normal and fault conditions. To evaluate the controller system capabilities, simulation analyses are performed on a model system composed of two wind farms connected to an infinite bus. A DAQ (Data Acquisition Card) has been used in the system as controller. Interface program has been prepared in Visual C#.NET platform which has more visual components and provides data exchange safely. Thanks to this interface program, users can easily observe most parameters of synchronous motor such as current, voltage, power factor, frequency, torque and speed. Furthermore, start-stop operations of the motor, frequency and speed control by a frequency convertor can be achieved as computer controlled. Thus, an interactive educational set is obtained that shows frequency-speed relation of three phase synchronous motor over a visual interface.","PeriodicalId":239142,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129715297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally, microchannel chips are composed of plastic or glass. Glass is stronger than plastic in terms of heat and chemical erosion resistance. However, currently, dies for manufacturing glass microchannel chips are not viable because they are composed of cemented carbide. Therefore, in this study, for manufacturing cemented carbide microchannel chip dies, methods for forming a fine groove by grinding using an electrodeposited diamond wheel are examined. The relationships among grinding condition, surface roughness of the groove bottom face, and deviations in groove shape and depth are clarified by the results.","PeriodicalId":239142,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133959910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is very necessary to use renewable energy with present power equipments cooperatively as it can be easily affected by the different weather conditions. Since the cost of diesel generator (DG) is high when starting up or shutting down, the electric power system should consist of small power system groups and share electric power with each other by interchanging. In this paper, the optimal method is proposed to determine the scheduling of the isolated island power system including WG, PV facility, DG, and battery energy storage system (BESS). The optimization is divided into two parts using genetic algorithm. First, the scheduling problem of DG unit commitment is decided by the revised load with the optimal operation of individual power system. Second, optimization of the electric power system group is performed by using the results of first step. The simulation results show the reduction of operational cost which confirms the feasibility and effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":239142,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications (ICRERA)","volume":"337 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134259811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
