While patients with an eating disorder showed less signs of gingival inflammation (SBI: anorexia: 14.6%; bulimia: 12.5%; controls: 44.7%), they had clearly more enamel erosions than healthy control persons. In 27 of 41 bulimic patients a bilateral swelling of the parotid gland was found. A significant correlation between the parotid enlargement and enamel erosion exists in bulimic patients with an anorectic prephase. Patients with an eating disorder had higher levels of serum amylase than healthy control persons. A significant correlation between serum amylase activity and dental characteristics was found in bulimic patients.</p>","PeriodicalId":23801,"journal":{"name":"Zahn-, Mund-, und Kieferheilkunde mit Zentralblatt","volume":"78 4","pages":"293-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"12865113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By means of thermistor thermometer coupled with a chart recorder, three series of temperature as time recordings of grafted tissues after normalized cooling were performed--before grafting, 2 and 12 weeks after grafting. On the basis of temperature recovery curves obtained, the blood supply coefficients were computed. It was revealed that in the Solcoseryl group there was an improvement in blood supply in 75% of the cases--2 weeks, and 66%--12 weeks after grafting. In the other group, the same reaction was observed only in 50% and 30% of the cases respectively.</p>","PeriodicalId":23801,"journal":{"name":"Zahn-, Mund-, und Kieferheilkunde mit Zentralblatt","volume":"78 3","pages":"235-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"13298755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
