The investigations refer to the question, to what extent different manufactured constructions in the root of a tooth will withstand torsional moments. A cold-pressured connection between titanium-post and titanium-construction was tested as to its mechanical load capacity. {"title":"[The materials and border-zone micromorphology of a glass-ionomer cement cavity lining material].","authors":"B Böhm, W Hauffe, P Neumann, H Nossek, H Weise","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The combination of various possibilities for sample preparation and investigation--the tinting penetration method, the ion beam slope cutting, the light and scanning electron microscopy--allow statements at the grind after different drying of the preparation mainly to the bond but also surface and filler shape of glass-ionomer cements. The dentine in the area of enamel-dentine-junction and of superficial root area is effectively closed by Ketac-Bond. Likewise, the bond with cover filling (Visio-Molar) can be considered without gaps except a single case. An increase and activation of the eosinophil granulocytes (EOS) in probe material (Sp, S and CB) of periodontally diseased patients, as observed in diseased periodontal tissues by several investigators could not be found. Estimation of caries risk was based on the following criteria: caries experience, sugar consumption, fluoride application, dry mouth, plaque accumulation, secretion rate, buffer capacity and S. mutans and lactobacillus counts in saliva.
