Healthcare organizations want to determine the wishes and expectations of medical tourists and produce products accordingly. The most important issue here is how to achieve this. Moreover, what are the demands and expectations of consumers and how they change in constantly changing environmental conditions. Marketing activities carried out in this context have an important role in the success of organizations. Since medical tourism marketing is a branch of the service sector, it also has characteristics related to the marketing of services. The aim of this study is to find an answer to the question of how the extended marketing mix elements bring a perspective to medical tourism. In this context, the medical tourism literature has been examined through a comprehensive review method. In this study, "Product", "Price" and "People" are considered as critical elements in medical tourism marketing strategies. It is important to address the concept of medical tourism with the elements of the extended marketing mix in this way in order to understand all elements in the best way. In this way, the application of the 7Ps can lead to strategic marketing insights for both healthcare providers and national healthcare services.

Patient flow processes in emergency departments are a critical factor that determines effective and rapid medical intervention as well as the overall performance of the healthcare system. \u0000Aim: This study aimed to analyze patient waiting times and hospital stay times by developing a different approach to the current patient flow processes in the green area of a hospital emergency department. \u0000Methods: Numerical and statistical results were obtained using a discrete event simulation model for the current and new situation of patient flow processes. \u0000Results: The waiting time decreased from 12.91 minutes in the current simulation model to 12.81 minutes in the proposed simulation model. The length of stay time decreased from 54.72 minutes in the current simulation model to 53.90 minutes in the proposed simulation model. In this case, it is seen that the proposed model provides a reduction in the length of stay and patient waiting time. Conclusion: The result shows that the proposed model provides some improvement in both waiting and length of stay time. This study offers a different approach to patient flow, allowing emergency department personnel to use their resources effectively and minimizing the time spent on patients' treatment or waiting periods. Thus, this study concluded that the effective management of recommended patient flow processes increases the capacity of emergency departments to deal with emergencies and accelerates access to emergency medical services.

The impacts of Covid-19 were felt harshly on the tourism industry, affecting medical tourism. With the economy coming back to normal, the sector is being revived at an even faster pace. India is at a vantage point with diverse culture, demography, and traditional techniques. India has carved out a prominent position in medical tourism with low cost, catering to patients that cannot afford to be in long waiting lines, with state-of-the-art medical care. The quantum of human resources, technological development, and active government intervention, create colossal possibilities to harness this sector. Kerala among other states uses a unique combination of modern and traditional medicine. Foreign-trained medical staff and numerous leisure spots help the state carve out a niche in this highly competitive segment. This paper discusses the boost that medical value tourism could grant Kerala and why this sector could be a significant revenue generator. Based on published data, the study discusses factors that make Kerala a hub for medical tourism, and trends and inflow of medical tourists. Out of the total number of Foreign Tourist Arrivals, the number of tourists arriving for medical purposes was 182,945. Despite a fall of 75 - 80% in Foreign Tourist Arrivals during the first two years (2019-2021) of the pandemic, hospitals in Kerala are making a comeback. For Kerala, the path of recovery is being made possible with changed marketing strategies and innovation to bring in more tourists. The article also discusses the concept and possibilities of Tourism 4.0 specifically, AI-driven telemedicine. The result of the article shows the impressive pace at which the sector is making a comeback and a positive impact on developing economies.

However, some international studies evaluating the effectiveness of previous disaster relief efforts have expressed that inefficient use of resources in the disaster relief process should be a matter of concern. The main purpose of this study is to obtain evidence to support post-earthquake healthcare interventions and to establish a reference on earthquake relief. \u0000Design/methodology/approach – The data of the study covers the period from 6 February to 16 February 2023 and was obtained from the official daily reports of the Health Disaster and Coordination Centre Unit (SAKOM) of the Ministry of Health. The data consisted of allocations of rescue units, human resources, workload and other information recorded in official daily reports. In addition, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method was used to evaluate the technical efficiency of health services provided in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake in the first emergency period of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake \u0000Findings – The technical efficiency scores of the health services provided in the earthquake-affected provinces are analysed, it is seen that while the average technical efficiency was 52% (SD: 0.30) on the 5th day of the earthquake, it increased significantly to 80% (SD: 0.21) on the 10th day. This result shows that health services in earthquake zones have started to be provided more efficiently over time. The rapid normalisation of health services in earthquake zones is an important indicator for the performance of disaster management and crisis response teams. \u0000Originality/value – Despite the extensive research on earthquake response and health services individually, there's a noticeable gap in literature explicitly exploring the relationship between the two. This lacuna in research is particularly evident when it comes to examining the efficiency of health services during seismic disasters.
