Flotation is the most economical and effective method to separate copper sulfide minerals and talc. For flotation process, there are selective flotation of talc before flotation of copper-bearing minerals, the flotation of copper-bearing minerals with depression of talc, and the bulk flotation of talc and copper-bearing minerals. At present, the researches focus on the depression of talc. The present work reviewed the molecular structure, properties and mechanism of organic and inorganic depressors for talc. The mechanism of action of depressors for talc includes electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bonding and chemical bonding. At the same time, factors such as pH and ionic strength have an important influence on depression effect for talc. The synergism of combined depressors has various novel depression effects on talc surface, which is more efficient than single agent. In the future, separation technology for talc and chalcopyrite develops toward the application of new depressors and the modification of agents. Meanwhile, the development of new depressors for talc needs to consider the properties of associated minerals with talc and copper-bearing minerals. The combined depressors should be developed to maximize the recovery of valuable metals.","PeriodicalId":23734,"journal":{"name":"World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, International Journal of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77233698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous studies have shown that epoxy composite coatings offer satisfactory corrosion protection to aluminum substrates minimizing and even eliminating some degradation phenomena. In the present effort, acoustic emission was applied during potentiodynamic cyclic polarization testing on as received, anodized and carbon epoxy coated aluminum substrates in order to correlate corrosion phenomena, like oxide layer development and localized corrosion, with characteristic acoustic emission signal descriptors. The epoxy coating was used both as received and as reinforced with various carbon fillers i.e. carbon nano-tubes, amorphous graphite or a combination of them. Acoustic emission detected signals due to hydrogen bubble related processes during cathodic polarization and signals due to deposition of thick soluble films during the final stage of anodic polarization. The acoustic profile between coated and uncoated aluminum substrates, exhibited substantial changes dependent both on the surface preparation and the employed reinforcing filler. The overall outcome of the experimental results, indicate that with further research, acoustic emission can be employed as an Aluminum Corrosion Monitoring tool. However although the bulk could present good values in their thermoelectric properties, when trying to build a thermoelectric device, other aspects must be considered. A aspect that For example for cooling, an important quantity is the maximum temperature difference that can be achieved by a thermocouple. This paper shows how this amount is related to dimensional parameters of the thermocouple. Particularly is dened the transverse area ratio of the thermocouple legs, whose value more efficient is function of the thermoelectric properties ρ and k.","PeriodicalId":23734,"journal":{"name":"World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, International Journal of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering","volume":"9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76486810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, the dissolution of gold ore (with FeS2 and FeAsS as the main sulfides) from Tianli gold mine, Liaoning province, China was investigated. The experiments were conducted in 500mL conical flasks containing 200mL of three different media, 3% pulp density and 1.6 initial pH. The results indicated that treatment with mix culture medium resulted in the dissolution of 99% of Arsenic and 99% of iron, which was higher as compared with when treated in the same culture medium after centrifugation for 20 minutes which in turn higher in comparison with when treated in acidic and pure sterile system. The oxidation potential, Eh of the mix culture medium reached 680mV (vs.SCE) within the first three days of the experiment where as that of centrifuged, acidic and sterile media reached 580, 450 and 445mV (vs.SCE) respectively. The pH tends to increase within the first three days which eventually decreased to nearly one toward ending, courtesy of pyrite which is believed to be net acid releasing sulfide. The dissolution is suggested to be a combined effect of enzymes, ferric iron ions and organic acids. It was observed that enzymes and ferric ions played an essential role in the dissolution process.","PeriodicalId":23734,"journal":{"name":"World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, International Journal of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81626045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretical constitutive model is formulated to develop a working diagram including process window, which represents the optimize region to carry out the hydroforming process and predict the type of tube failure during the process accurately. The model is applied into different bulging ratios for low carbon steel (C1010). From this study, it is concluded that the tubes with bulging ratios up to 50% and 70% are successfully formed without defects. The tubes with bulging ratio of 90% are successfully formed by hydroforming with optimized the loading path (axial feed versus internal pressure) within the process window. The working diagram is modified due to different types of formation of wrinkling during the hydroforming process. The formation of wrinkles with increasing axial feed can be useful in terms of the achievement of higher bulging ratio and/or less thinning...","PeriodicalId":23734,"journal":{"name":"World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology, International Journal of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90237086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
