The influence of anodic treatment on surface morphology, roughness coefficients, and electrocatalytic activity towards the hydrogen evolution reaction is characterized. It is demonstrated that the current densities of nickel anodic dissolution in reline are approximately an order of magnitude lower than in ethaline under all other identical conditions. Significant differences in the kinetics of nickel anodic dissolution and passivation during anodic polarization in ethaline and reline have been established, which may be attributed to both a substantial difference in the viscosity of these solvents and differences in the chemical nature and composition of the ions present in them. It is found that anodic treatment in ethaline, at certain potentials, results in electrochemical polishing of the surface, confirmed by a decrease in measured roughness coefficients, while anodic treatment in reline does not allow effective electropolishing and only surface etching (increase in roughness coefficients) is observed. Anodic potentiostatic treatment of nickel in both investigated deep eutectic solvents at specific electrode potential values significantly enhances the electrocatalytic activity of the surface towards the hydrogen evolution reaction in an alkaline environment. This finding can be utilized in the development of electrocatalytic materials for the electrolytic synthesis of green hydrogen.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"91 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140462857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the experiments, a model oil sample prepared in a ratio of 2:1 of commercial oils from Narimanov and Absheron fields of SOCAR was used as a research object, and a formation water sample taken from well No. 1082 of “Bibiheybatneft” OGPI, SOCAR was used as an electrochemical corrosion medium. It was determined that the new composition had a more effective impact on the corrosion rate in H2S-containing formation water and the freezing temperature of high-paraffin oil sample than individual reagents. Thus, the highest efficiency for gossypol resin was observed at a concentration of 110 mg/l, when the corrosion rate was 0.09 g/m2h (corrosion protection efficiency of 98%). The most effective indicator for NDP-6 depressant additive was 1000 g/t, and the freezing temperature of high-paraffin model oil was stated to decrease from +160С to –20С. However, the strongest effect has been observed for the Z-1 composition. Thus, the composition with a concentration of 700 g/t reduces the corrosion rate in the formation water from 4.30 g/m2h to 0.04 g/m2h (corrosion protection efficiency of 99%) and the freezing temperature of model oil from +160С to –90C.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"672 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140466275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electrochemical deposition of electrocatalytic coatings was carried out using electrolytes based on deep eutectic solvents (eutectic mixtures of choline chloride with ethylene glycol or urea). To simulate the recorded Nyquist plots reflecting the electrocatalytic performance of deposited coatings, a modified Armstrong-Henderson equivalent circuit was employed, which accounts for the involvement of adsorbed intermediates in the reaction. The equivalent circuit included three polarization resistances and three constant phase elements, allowing for the consideration of the localization of the electrochemical process on different surface microdomains. It was found that the electrocatalytic activity of nickel coatings deposited from deep eutectic solvents exceeded the activity of nickel fabricated in an aqueous electrolyte. The increase in molybdenum content in the coating was shown to enhance electrocatalytic activity. It was established that the main reasons for improving the electrocatalytic properties of the Ni–Mo alloy coatings are structural-morphological factors (increase in the degree of microheterogeneity of the surface and the development of the surface area available for electrochemical reaction) and the formation of a favorable electronic structure of the metal, leading to the acceleration of the rate-determining Volmer step.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"35 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140463596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the results of X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, the glass wastes belong to the group of alkali-containing aluminoborosilicate glasses. The results of thermomicroscopic and dilatometry studies showed that the combination of industrial waste frits and glass waste allows obtaining coatings that, according to their technological characteristics, meet the conditions of porcelain stoneware high-speed firing. The conditions for the resource-valued glass waste use as part of porcelain stoneware tiles glazes have been established. This allowed to use their potential as efficiently as possible and to partially replace (within 15–30%) high-value frits. Combinations of waste glass and industrial boron-free frits with high crystallization ability due to the increased content of alkaline earth oxides (RO=22–34 wt.%) were studied to prepare opaque matte coatings. Glazes compositions have been developed, which under conditions of high-speed firing, form matte coatings due to the directed crystallization of phase’s complex (ZnAl2O4, Zn2SiO4 and CaAl2Si2O8). Ceramic granite with white color coating (brightness coefficient of 80–83%) that differs by \"silky\" mattness (mirror reflection coefficient of 31–42%), high heat resistance (10 or more heat changes) and abrasion resistance of III–IV class was obtained. The best results were observed when using matte glazes in a complex with engobe, which includes the same glass waste in the amount of up to 30 wt.%. This is in general ensures a high level of their utilization, a significant high-value raw materials saving and an energy costs reduction for fritting.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136094735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most progressive and efficient method of polymer waste recycling has been determined, that consists in using biodegradable materials as a polymer base, the products made of them being decomposed into environmentally safe compounds. Polylactide as one of the most widespread biodegradable polymers was considered as a very promising material. It was processed into a product by using 3D printing. The optimal processing temperature (2100C) was determined, at which the maximum level of physical-mechanical properties of polylactide products is observed. We studied the effect of the degree of products infilling, which were obtained on a 3D printer, on their main strength characteristics. Pd(II)–Cu(II) compounds fixed on dispersed silica for the oxidation of carbon monoxide with air oxygen were obtained by impregnation of the carrier, which was previously boiled in distilled water for one hour, through NH3-coordination in the presence of ethyl alcohol, followed by maturation of the catalyst at 200C for 20 hours and drying at 3000C for 4 hours. The initial and chemically modified samples of tripoli were characterized by X-ray phase analysis, IR-spectral and thermogravimetric research methods and tested in the reaction of low-temperature oxidation of carbon monoxide with oxygen. The degree of CO conversion in the stationary mode was used to estimate the activity of the catalyst. It was established that the activity of copper-palladium catalysts is significantly affected by the method of catalyst preparation, namely: the sequence of mixing the starting solutions, the drying temperature, and the content of the catalyst components. The catalyst with the highest activity contained all the components, such as K2PdCl4, Cu(NO3)2, NH4OH, KBr, and С2Н5ОН, mixed beforehand in the specified sequence. It provides air purification from CO to a concentration that is 5 times lower than the maximum permissible concentration for the working area (MPCCO=20 mg/m3). The degree of CO oxidation reaches 98.6%. With other variations of the method of the catalyst preparation, the samples show much lower activity, which indicates the formation of surface complexes of different composition, responsible for the oxidation of carbon monoxide by air oxygen.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"216 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136094626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Notably, the addition of water in the fluoride-containing electrolyte plays a critical role in shaping the morphology of TiO2 nanotubes, leading to the formation of ordered structures under specific water concentration conditions. The study also examines the effects of platinum and palladium deposition on TiO2 nanotubes, enhancing their surface crystallinity and structural arrangement. It was established that the formation of a porous surface proceeds in two following stages: 1) the dissolution of Zn from the CuZn mainly along the grain boundaries with the formation of submicron crevices between them, and 2) electrochemical dezincification of brass grains and formation of nanopores. The zinc content in the nanoporous copper surface is less than 1%. It was proved that anodically dezincified brass porous cathodes demonstrate a significantly higher CO2 reduction current on their surface than smooth copper and brass surfaces. For instance, in aqueous solutions, at an electrode potential of –1.5 V, the value of cathode current density on porous Cu cathodes is between 5 to 9 mAcm–2, while it is only 2.5 and 1.5 mAcm–2 on smooth Cu and CuZn cathodes, respectively. A similar trend is observed in an acetonitrile environment, where the current density of the CO2 electroreduction at the electrode potential of –3.0 V is 22 to 27 mAcm–2, 15 mAcm–2, and 18 mAcm–2 on porous cathodes, Cu cathode, and CuZn cathode, respectively. As the pore size decreases from submicron to submicron-nanosized, there is a tendency for an increase in cathodic currents by approximately 80% and 25% in aqueous and in acetonitrile solutions, respectively. Additionally, CO2 recovery on porous cathodes remains stable during long-term electrolysis at an electrode potential below –1.5 V.","PeriodicalId":23684,"journal":{"name":"Voprosy Khimii i Khimicheskoi Tekhnologii","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136160185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
