The aim of this paper is to examine the structural break and to determine the exact break date in the price of commodity data using monthly data. We used two different techniques; first is Unit Root with Structural Break procedure and secondly is Zivot and Andrews test that allows for detecting a break at an unknown date. The results manage to detect structural break with different break date for different technique used during the period 1989 to 2009. We also conduct Bai Perron test which allows for more than one structural break. The result show that we manage to detect the best two break date for all three commodities.","PeriodicalId":236344,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Science and Social Research (CSSR 2010)","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133248403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was performed to evaluate the anti-ulcerogenic activity of BIHCN against ethanol induced gastric mucosal injury in rats. Six groups of adult Sprague Dawley rats were orally pre-treated respectively with 10% Tween 20 solution (ulcer control group), omeprazole 20 mg/kg (reference group), and 50, 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg of BIHCN in 10% Tween 20 solution (experimental groups) one hour before oral administration of absolute ethanol to generate gastric mucosal injury. After an additional hour, the rats were sacrificed and the ulcer areas of the gastric walls were determined. Grossly, the ulcer control group exhibited severe mucosal injury, whereas pre-treatment with compound exhibited significant protection of gastric mucosal injury. Histological studies of the gastric wall revealed that ulcer control group exhibited severe damage of gastric mucosa; along with edema and leucocytes infiltration of submucosal layer compared to rats pre-treated with BIHCN which showed comparatively gastric mucosal protection, reduction or absence of edema and leucocytes infiltration of submucosal layer. Acute toxicity study of BIHCN with a higher dose of 5 g/kg did not manifest any toxicological signs in rats. In conclusions, the present finding suggests that BIHCN promotes ulcer protection as ascertained grossly by significant reduction of ulcer area, and histologically by comparatively decreases in ulcer areas, reduction or absence of edema and leucocytes infiltration of submucosal layer compared to ulcer control group.","PeriodicalId":236344,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Science and Social Research (CSSR 2010)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115494829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The multi-bifurcating flow structure acquires deep understanding on the flow driven transportation. This work employs Navier-Stokes equation with Splitting Method numerical flow solver utilizing domain characterization technique. Various breathing conditions are commenced to Weibel's morphometric lung model from fifth to seventh generations of human respiratory system. Velocity distributions, vortex formations and cross-sectional velocity profiles are considered for Reynolds number ranging from resting to moderate exercise breathing. Flow with low Reynolds number retains its symmetric cross-sectional velocity profile across each bifurcation region while higher Reynolds number shows the other way. Drug delivery efficacy is higher with slower inhalation while hard breathing stimulates vortex formations and disturbs drug distributions right through the multi-bifurcation structure.","PeriodicalId":236344,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Science and Social Research (CSSR 2010)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114424324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All food labels need to have minimum amount of mandatory or legally set information, but a producer may add any voluntary but correct information should they feel that the information stated would be off an advantage and that would lead a consumer to purchase the product. Food producers also would at times, use terms which would only be understood by experts and non experts would be left guessing and interpreting the terms themselves. Consumers also consider food labeling to be very important component of their lifestyle and regard nutrition as a positive attribute to the products. With that, this study attempts to see the correlation between Label Messages and Label Effectiveness. These findings will provide a view on what is the correlation between the label messages and its effectiveness. This would also assist manufaturers to identify on what information or messages which would have an impact before consumers makes their buying decisions.","PeriodicalId":236344,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Science and Social Research (CSSR 2010)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114666707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This objective of this paper is to highlight Schema Theory as an additional factor which helps learners in an ALI class to write reports. Possessing relevant schema helps in the understanding of the content. We propose that the ALI factors (Teaching conduct, Preference for materials and Proficiency), are necessary conditions which would activate learners' content schema and aid understanding of a given task. The notion that ALI factors which rekindles relevant schema are important considerations when planning a lesson. Likewise, language teaching also can be enhanced effectively if content from core course subjects such as physics, are used as basis for writing in the English language lesson.","PeriodicalId":236344,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Science and Social Research (CSSR 2010)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122010858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
