However, conventional analog control is less effective compared with analog control. In this paper, taking phase-shifted full-bridge ZVZCS (Zero-Voltage-Zero-Current-Switching) converter as an example,we analyze in detail the effect of the digital control on system stability and dynamics in the sampling process, zero-order-hold, and the control of one-step-delay. It shows that the introduction of all aspects of digital control makes the open-loop zero, pole points with the sampling frequency change a lot. It not only affects the closed-loop characteristic equation coefficients and order, reduces the ranges of critical and stable gain greatly, but also changes the dynamic performance of a system. Furthermore, through experiments, we validate that the theoretical analysis is correct.","PeriodicalId":236136,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114800693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To damp these harmonics, this paper proposes a novel control strategy in which inverter output current is regulated by PI controller and grid current is controlled by repetitive controller (RC) for three-phase grid-connected voltage source inverter (VSI) with LCL filter under d-q rotating frame. This paper implements RC to regulate grid current based on the stability of the system under inverter output current control loop. This paper discusses the design of RC and analyzes the stability and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in damping the grid current harmonics arising from grid voltage distortion. At last, proposed scheme is verified on a 100 kW three-phase grid-connected PV inverter prototype. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed scheme has a good performance.","PeriodicalId":236136,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115000032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this proposed configuration, traditional bridge which is composed of two power switches is replaced by the novel bridge composed of one power switch and one diode. The annoying “shoot-through” phenomenon is eliminated by using this novel configuration. Meanwhile, better efficiency and better performance brought by this novel configuration benefit the improvement of the compensation performance. Moreover, operation principle of the APF is analyzed in detail; current control strategy and the voltage balance control strategy for the split-capacitor topology are studied as well. Finally, a prototype with the compensating capacity of 3 kVA is designed. Simulation and experimental results are shown to confirm the validity and feasibility of the novel aeronautical active power filter.","PeriodicalId":236136,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114703780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A dedicated LC compensation circuit is attached to the ballast to increase the PF and lower the THD of the source current. A boost converter is used for regulating the LED current, however its duty cycle is bounded to avoid the unstable operating region, which is analyzed and characterized in this paper. A small DC input capacitor is used to prevent the ballast from an excessive transient voltage and current. In this system, a sensor is essential for power conversion. A sensor fault is detected when there is an error between the sensed and estimated values, which are obtained from a dc-link voltage sensorless algorithm. Fault-tolerant control is achieved by using the estimated values. A deadbeat current controller is used to meet the dynamic characteristic of the proposed algorithm. However its effectiveness is limited by zero vectors and the minimum time needed for a stable sample and hold. This paper attempts to alleviate these drawbacks by modifying the PWM technique to increase the range and robustness of the phase current reconstruction in three phase inverters. Active pulse placement and discontinuity is introduced in the modulator to achieve it. The consequences of the proposed technique on the waveform quality are studied as well. To raise their gains and modulation ratios further, a number of variations have been introduced with some using magnetically coupled transformers or inductors. These variants are of interest since they use lesser components. Their winding turns might however become too excessive for higher demanded gains. Avoiding this usual trend, a new family of current-type flipped-Γ-source inverters are proposed, whose common gain is raised by lowering, and not increasing, the winding turns. Such capability is achieved without compromising component stresses, maximum achievable gain and modulation ratio. Experimental results have already demonstrated the practicality of the proposed inverters.","PeriodicalId":236136,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116276174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce to voltage stress of the main switch in the converter an active clamping circuit is employed to provide ZVS for both main switch and axillary switch and the clamping capacitor is also used to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductor and magnetizing inductor of both of the two isolation transformers. Four filter inductors are adopted in the circuit to reduce the current ripple of the output side and the usage of transformer provides galvanic isolation for security. Two transformer which is series connected in primary side and parallel in secondary side are used to double the turn ratio of the transformer in order to ensure the switch operating under a more stable switching duty ratio. In this paper the operating principle is analyzed in detail and the design consideration is also presented. The capability of adjusting air-gap flux density is expected to improve the efficiency and extend the speed range. The doubly salient structure in switched reluctance machines (SRM) is employed in the variable flux reluctance machine, together with the non-overlapping concentrated windings to reduce the copper loss. The 2D and 3D-finite element analyses are employed to predict the radial force and vibration modes in the variable flux reluctance machine, respectively. With the aid of vector control, which employs space vector pulse-width modulation, the vibration and acoustic noise in this novel machine are experimentally investigated, together with the comparison with SRM, which has the same stator/rotor pole combination. Compared with SRM, under the same load condition, the variable flux reluctance machine significantly reduces the vibration of mode 2, which is dominant in the SRM.","PeriodicalId":236136,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of The 7th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference","volume":"144 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120865151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
