The hearing disorder impairs human communication and learning. A traditional hearing test is constrained in its application and time-consuming since it requires the person to respond directly. The main objective of this study is to build an intelligent hearing level evaluation approach using Auditory Evoked Potential (AEPs) to address these concerns. For this purpose, two types of AEP signals (hearing auditory stimulus and hearing nothing) have been collected from five subjects with normal hearing abilities. Ten different statistical features have been extracted in ten different time window length (one second to ten seconds). The obtained feature sets have been classified by the K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) algorithm. Different types of the parameter of K-NN have been investigated also to achieve the best outcome. Experimental results show that the maximum classification accuracy of 97.80% has been achieved with the standard deviation feature and K-NN classification algorithm (Distance: Manhattan, K-neighbors: 4, Leaf size: 1, weight: uniform). The obtained performance indicates that the proposed method is very encouraging for diagnosing the AEPs responses.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114082516","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Helmholtz coils is an example of such coil capable of producing uniform magnetic field, however its use in conjunction with inductive wireless power transfer in wastewater photoreforming has not been well explored. In this study, an optimum coil spacing for a Helmholtz pair is suggested and sought by analytical approach. Subsequently, a numerical solution is obtained for the magnetic flux density inside a cylindrical chamber of known radius and height by employing the finite element method. The axisymmetric nature of the model is exploited to reduce computation cost. The mean values are combined based on the method detailed in the Cochrane handbook to obtain an average magnetic flux density inside the cylinder and repeated to obtain an average value for 77 combinations of coil diameter and height. Linear and nonlinear regression techniques are applied to determine the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variables. In contrast to the more common coil spacing of R, where R refers to the coil radius, a spacing of 1.5R is feasible which increase the maximum usable volume by a factor of 1.5 under acceptable deviation in flux density. Nonlinear transformation using the logarithmic model yield the best combination of 0.97/0.18 for the coefficient of determination and residual sum of squares, respectively. The technique demonstrated herein can be used to set up multiple Helmholtz coil geometry for farming a uniform magnetic field density in photoreforming of petrochemical wastewater by inductive wireless power transfer to multiple arbitrary LED based receivers.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"237 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126808743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While many institutions of higher learning plan for blended learning approach instead of full online, this sudden shift to full online causing bottleneck performance of Learning Management System (LMS). Therefore, the aim of this paper is to study the pattern of user engagement in LMS during pandemic. The case used in this study is LMS from Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Quantitative method has been chosen as a research method in this study where user interaction data from the LMS log is been used for engagement analysis. By combining the context of user engagement, we create temporal visualization matrix to gain the insight of user engagement pattern in LMS. Our findings show that both student and instructor are still highly engaged in LMS even after midnight. This insight is useful and significant for the institution (1) to deploy effective Quaity of Service (QoS) of LMS operation and (2) to design a policies related to quality assurance during pandemic by addressing the wellbeing aspect of student and instructor.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126752208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the salt content found in the water. Desalination is the process of removing salt from the ocean water and making it pure enough for general use by people, whether for cooking, cleaning, or other purposes. The process of desalinating water can be very energy intensive and take up large amounts of space. Certain coastal regions are not capable of sustaining the costs or do not have the space to install such a system. To fix this problem, this work proposes a design for a portable solar desalination system. This system will be powered using a linear Fresnel lens focused onto a heat sink in thermal contact with the water. Once the water is evaporated, it will be pumped into a coiled cooling pipe. The condensed water will then be deposited into a collection tank with a nozzle for easy access. The system will be small enough to fit on the bed of a pickup truck in order for it to be transported to locations near the ocean in need of water. Calculations were conducted and it was seen that in an ideal case, the system was capable of producing 16.4 liters of water a day, which would be capable of sustaining 8 people drinking 2 liters per day. Experiments were designed to test the essential stages of the process and to gather data to design the system. From the experiments conducted, it was seen that the process can generate steam to condense into portable water. The experiments conducted lacks the accuracy that the planned experiments offer due to the lack of materials. From the experiments conducted, errors were found to be improved upon in future works. Simulations were conducted to determine the output of the Stirling engine and the storage system. The Stirling engine was seen to produce 36W of power with an efficiency of 10.53%. A Li-Ion battery storage system was shown to be capable of storing the energy generated.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125776584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the PCF are fabricated with lots of airholes arranged in a structured way with four or five or six layers of airholes surrounded the central region of the fiber. The primary focus of the study is to design a relatively simple structure PCF sensor which requires less design complexity and easy for fabrication. The proposed design in the study has three different pairs of airholes with different diameter which has similarity with conventional PANDA type fiber. Birefringence used as the prime factor in this research to detect pressure. For achieving high birefringence, the geometry of symmetry breaking of the fiber structure method is applied here. Breaking more symmetry brings more birefringence. The sensing analysis using birefringence is covered in the study and it provides a meaningful response wavelength shifting from operating wavelength. From the design proposed in the study, birefringence achieved is as high as 1.4×10−2 which is highest as far as known. The maximum sensitivity achieved for a certain design parameter is 38.95 nm/MPa for 1mm long PCF.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131796943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increasing number of vehicles on the road, the requirement of parking lot will also be restricted. Thus, it become a problem for the people to find a free parking space in the busy building especially in shopping complex. Internet of Things (IoT) is an interesting technology that can be applied in this paper because this technology has a capability to transfer the data over a network without requiring human intervention in almost all applications in today's society. In this paper, a user-friendly mobile application, named as Android-based Car Parking Monitoring System (ACPMS) is built to aid in locating a particular parking place. ACPMS can provide a user with the ability to check vacant parking space and locate the nearest parking lot. ACPMS obtained the parking location from the current user's position with the sensor located in the shopping complex's parking lot. ACPMS is testing in a realistic environment for the purpose of movement detection and location service to notify user using the mobile application. By considering seven test case scenarios, the combination of the ACPMS mobile application with a parking prototype kit shows that the proposed work able to solve the parking problem.","PeriodicalId":234459,"journal":{"name":"2020 Emerging Technology in Computing, Communication and Electronics (ETCCE)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129136436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several integrated circuits are compiled together to design the amplification of a sound system. Sound systems can be made louder or amplified in a number of ways. One way of increasing the energy of the sound system is to make the small currents larger and sent to the loudspeaker system where they are converted into the much larger vibrations of the speaker cone. Due to attenuation and various interruptions of the input signals, the received signals become disrupted. For this reason, the integrated circuit used must be have lower noise levels and higher amplifications. This paper introduces a simple amplifier circuit which can be used both as inverting and non-inverting ways. TDA2030 is the IC that acts as an AB class amplifier.
