This non-experimental quantitative research design utilized the survey approach involving N=103 Grade 12 senior high school students taking the Tech-Voc track in different educational institutions in Digos City. In analyzing the data, mean, Pearson r and regression analysis were used. Based on the findings, career development learning was assessed to be very high. Employability skills of students were also assessed to be very high. All measures of career development learning significantly correlated with employability skills. Lastly, among the domains of career development learning, transition learning was found the best influence on the employability skills of senior high school students.","PeriodicalId":234087,"journal":{"name":"University of Mindanao International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128868315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two approaches were utilized, the Willingness-to-Pay (WTP) and the Willingness-to-Accept (WTA). The former was used to compute the contribution of the Dabawenyos to preserve and protect the pawikan sanctuary, while the latter measured the compensatory income revealed by the individuals whose livelihood have direct adverse impact on the sanctuary. Two sets of surveys were made, one to measure the WTA, targeted 100 residents surrounding the sanctuary, while the WTP with 1200 respondents scientifically chosen as respondents. Respondents of WTA posted average compensatory income of 7200 to cover income loss in the effort to preserve the sanctuary, with a derived producer surplus of Php 426. Meantime, the environmental protection contribution measured through WTP obtained estimated value of Php 9,837, with a derived consumer surplus of Php 8 per one additional person. The total economic value of the sanctuary was estimated at Php 435. The low imputed value of the natural resource is afforded to the fact the natural resource has no market value, people derive their income and livelihood from activities that imperil the resource, and finally, the public limits their support on the population of the marine turtle hosted in the pawikan sanctuary. This means that the contribution to preserve is required the moment there are turtles found in the sanctuary. This disconnects their revealed preference into the many roles and function of the natural resource. The general public misses the point that turtle also face the threat due to presence of oceanic plastic, the silting of the shoreline and the pollution of the water; all these will have impact on the population of the turtles in the coming years.","PeriodicalId":234087,"journal":{"name":"University of Mindanao International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123139434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is considered as not a rare event. Still, the conspiracy of silence, which is an integral part of the phenomenon, makes it difficult to estimate its scope, especially here in the Philippines. This research aims to provide enlightenment about the phenomenon, especially through the perpetrators’ lenses; thus, the perpetrators’ challenges and realizations before, during, and after the said act. A case study was conducted in four incest cases, which happen in the province of Davao del Sur. A structured focused case comparison was used in this study to present the differences and similarities of each case regarding the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator, the triggering factors, and the challenges of the perpetrators before, during, and after the incestuous act. Descriptive phenomenological method was also been utilized for the interpretation of the significant themes and meanings. The results showed that organic substance such as alcohol, close physical proximity, and illicit emotions were the prevailing factors that led the perpetrators to commit incest. In addition, the results also showed that temptation due to close physical proximity was the common challenges that the perpetrators encountered. Moreover, after the incestuous act, the perpetrators showed different feelings towards the incident, such as remorse and regret. However, each case varied when it comes to their relationship with the victims and emotional attachment.","PeriodicalId":234087,"journal":{"name":"University of Mindanao International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122435973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also aimed to discover the density, diversity, associated faunal species, and number of mangrove trees, saplings, and seedlings of different species as well as abiotic factors such as pH level and salinity. After analysis of the results, it was found that the mangrove species abundance is low; moreover, mangroves also have a very low classification of diversity, which implied that there is slim variation of species. Furthermore, the very low diversity of the faunal species also meant that there is food and habitat loss. The number of mangrove trees, saplings, and seedlings is also connected to the diversity and density, resulting in low population count. Lastly, abiotic factors also reflect to others results as the pH level is strong alkaline; salinity is of standard level that can be tolerated by trees but not by mangrove saplings and seedlings. Therefore, the mangrove ecosystem in Sanipaan Marine Park is unhealthy despite it being a marine protected area. It is recommended to plant different mangrove seedlings, periodic monitoring of these seedlings and strict implementation of city ordinances.","PeriodicalId":234087,"journal":{"name":"University of Mindanao International Multidisciplinary Research Journal","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128853040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
