Material and Methods: A total of 30 cochlear implant users, 15 participants with IP-II inner ear anomalies and 15 participants with normal cochlea, aged 18-55 years were included in this study. All participants included in the study are unilateral CI and bimodal users. Participants were assessed using the Speech, Spatial, and Hearing Qualities Scale (SSQ). Results: When cochlear implant users with IP-II malformations and cochlear implant users with normal cochlea individually scored auditory abilities, the results were similar. It was observed that bimodal listeners tended to have all subdomains and overall SSQ scores compared to use of unilateral CI. Conclusion: It is very important to benefit from the advantages of binaural hearing in hearing sounds. It is thought that the use of scales as well as routine audiological evaluation batteries in the follow-up processes of cochlear implant users will be beneficial for audiologists. It is important to investigate hearing loss in the early period and to evaluate the auditory pathway in terms of speech perception for appropriate amplification. Due to the level of language development in infants, it is not possible to objectively evaluate speech perception skills with the speech test battery used in adults. It is necessary to use a test battery that gives objective results for the measurement of speech perception in infants. Visual Reinforcement Infant Speech Discrimination (VRISD) method is the most commonly used test technique to evaluate speech discrimination skills in infants. The aim of this study is to evaluate the speech discrimination skills of 3 babies aged 6-18 months, who are hearing aid users, with the VRISD test method. In the VRISD test protocol used in this study, test stimuli were created by matching /a/ with /i/ and /ba/ with /da/ speech stimuli. These stimulus pairs are arranged as one target sound and the other background sound, and they are presented at 70 dB via loudspeaker by creating a repeating sound sequence. Animated video that attracts the attention of the baby was used as visual reinforcement. Speech discrimination skills of 3 babies with bilateral hearing aids were evaluated with the VRISD test, and the results of the cases are presented. As a result of the study, speech discrimination skills of babies with hearing aids will be evaluated with the VRISD test method. The secondary aim of our study is to draw attention to the negative impact of noise-induced hearing loss on quality of life and the necessity of measures to protect individual workers. Material and Method: Forty participants aged between 18-45 with and without noise-induced hearing loss (20 participants) were included in the study. Pure tone audiometry tests were performed on the participants. Then, they were asked to answer the WHOQOL-BREF (TR) and Quality of Work Life Scale items. Results: A statistically significant difference was found between the years of work, quality of life, and quality of work-life scores between participants with and without hearing loss. Moderate to strong correlations were observed between the scales assessing the quality of life and work-life. Conclusion: Occupational noise is an important risk factor for hearing loss in workers. Considering that the quality of life of workers exposed to noise is adversely affected, it is necessary to determine the noise exposure, evaluate the negative psychological effects of noise and reduce exposure to noise if necessary. Material and Methods: The earmold impressions of 24 participants age range of 18-25 years were taken to extend to the second bend of the external auditory canal. Then, the earmold impressions taken for each participant; We processed it as a standard hard mold with 3 different canal lengths as 2nd bend, 1st to 2nd bend and 1st bend. Thus, real ear measurement is made for each participant with 3 different canal length earmold; Earmolds with short, medium and long canals and hearing aid gains were measured. Results: According to the results of our analysis, earmold with long canal length provided significant gains in all intensities at 500 and 750 Hz, high input sounds at 250 Hz and medium input sounds at 1000 Hz. Conclusion: Increasing the canal length in earmold provides additional gain, especially at low frequencies. Children with hearing loss who wear hearing aids are more susceptible to the negative effects of noise than their normal-hearing peers. This study aims to evaluate the speech recognition in noise performance of hearing aid users and compare them with their normal-hearing peers. Material and Method: Five children aged 6-12 years with bilateral moderate to severe symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss and using bilateral behind-the-ear hearing aids were included in the study. 4 different conditions of the Turkish HINT-C were applied, and a speech recognition threshold (SRT) is determined for each condition. Results: Regardless of their age, the SRT needed by children with hearing aids to achieve equal performance with their normal-hearing peers was found to be higher for all test conditions. As seen in children with normal hearing in general, the mean noise front score of the children with hearing loss was higher than the mean noise right and noise left scores. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that children with bilaterally symmetrical moderate to severe hearing loss achieved poor speech recognition scores in environments similar to the classroom environment, compared to their normal-hearing peers. Hearing loss is common in children with DS. It has been denoted that the rate of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) finding is quite frequent in individuals with DS. Early detection of autism characteristics is important for appropriate intervention. The presented case is a child with DS who was diagnosed with mild/moderate SNHL at the age of 7 months and recommended a hearing aid, and despite receiving intensive special education and rehabilitation program and appropriate family support, his development was very limited. Since his development was very limited, he was diagnosed with ASD when he has been referred to child psychiatry again. This case report shows the importance of directing the child to other disciplines to elucidate the factor causing limitation in cases where speech and language development is limited despite early diagnosis and intervention. Besides, it reveals the importance of routinely screening these children in terms of ASD, due to the high rate of coexistence of ASD in children with DS.
