A microcontroller ATmega2560 Arduino controls the activities of the system and a real time clock module was added for time synchronization. MATLAB standalone application was built for analyzation and data recording. The researchers used three sensor nodes as the primary device of the system and base station for data monitoring. To test the functionality and reliability of the system, the researchers used three miniature bridges. At 100 hertz the bridges were tested under two factors, the intensity of crack and strength of vibration. A two-way ANOVA was used to analyze the effect of the factors on the readings of the system. The output shows intensities of crack and strength of vibration has a significant effect on the readings.","PeriodicalId":230810,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 12th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment, and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133508596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Autonomous navigation in these outdoor settings has been effectively done using global positioning systems (GPS). Many human MAV pilots have demonstrated skills in controlling MAVs to maneuver in narrowed spaces indoors. However, this skill is hard to automate. Global positioning systems are unreliable indoors and in cluttered and confined environments. SLAM, being the most widely used analytical method, addresses the navigation problem by rendering a spatial map of an environment in which the Agent navigates while simultaneously localizing the Agent relative to this map. The main downside of SLAM is that rendering an entire map requires a large amount of computation, and rule-based techniques often lose their robustness in corner cases or situations that were not accounted for in developing the rules. Hence, learning directly from human demonstrations could produce improved results for complex tasks, particularly in sensor-limited systems. In this study, a policy that safely navigates a MAV through an indoor environment is learned through deep imitation learning. To effectively learn a policy that is robust to the domain or environment shifts, an ideal combination of monocular depth estimate and dense optical flow was determined to serve as state representation. Three different deep convolutional neural network architectures, namely, CNN, LSTM-RNN, and 3D CNN, were explored and developed to encode the navigation policy from expert demonstrations. The performance of these policies was then tested in a real environment. Results show that the CNN and 3D CNN policies successfully navigated the MAV around the obstacle set in the test environment while the LSTM-RNN did not. The Success Rate for CNN, LSTM-RNN, and 3D CNN were 90%,0%, and 90%, respectively.","PeriodicalId":230810,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 12th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment, and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131246233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most specialty coffees have been sorted and processed by hand. There was a lack of integration with modern technology concerning the evaluation of coffee beans of which lead to lower yield due to little personnel as sorting of coffee beans are generally done by a trained expert. To solve the problem, recent researches about integrating image processing techniques in industrialization has become more apparent apart from only a few that focus on the different features of a coffee bean. The focus of this paper is to create a device that can evaluate the size, quality, and roast level of a batch of the coffee bean through the use of image processing techniques and Back Propagation Neural Network. BPNN would serve as the brain of the device to determine these features. This study would use different image processing techniques such as K-mean shift, Blob, and Canny Edge to extract the features of the coffee beans and use Red Green Blue Analysis, Hu's Moment, and Blob Analysis to make use of these features and feed it into the BPNN. The coffee beans used in the study are obtained and sorted from the Philippine Coffee Board Inc.","PeriodicalId":230810,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 12th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment, and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"65 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131248417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focused on the design and installation of a control system for an open circuit wind tunnel to monitor and manipulate certain parameters for airfoil testing, specifically angle of attack and wind speed. Through the designed control system, trials for the analysis of aerodynamic performance of a sample airfoil were conducted by determining the lift and drag forces acting upon the airfoil that is being tested. The researchers integrated a data logger to the control system for the real-time recording of the data gathered throughout the test for further analysis. In this study, the control system for the open circuit wind tunnel consists of the following sensors and electrical components: a 3D printed pitot tube for the wind speed reading, a fan for the airflow generation, a servomotor for the control of the angle of attack of the airfoil, multiple load cells for the lift and drag forces readings, a data logger for the data collection, and a smoke generator to allow the flow visualization occurring around the airfoil. The researchers also conducted the calibration of each component of the control system to ensure accurate results for experiments that were conducted.","PeriodicalId":230810,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 12th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment, and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134512223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BSHM is inherently formed by visual, advanced, and non-destructive technical inspections. Optimal criterion per parameter is one of the crucial actions in classifying the current condition of bridges. Inconsistency and variation of fundamental parameters makes the process challenging. But there are dominant efforts in determining the preeminent parameters that can only be done after diverse and recursive experiments. On the other side, most prevalent structure condition classification methods are morphologically and linguistically rated, showing impreciseness and uncertainties in evaluations. This paper proposed a new fuzzy system assumed or based on both the objective assessment and subjective approach, along with the optimum value of parameters based on reconstructed data. The best possible fixed and variable parameters of the system's model will be designated as the input for the fuzzy model with membership functions utilizing the concept of the statistical distributions and cognitive limitations. Severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) is the cause of the COVID-19 disease. Staphylococcus aureus, like SARS-CoV2, is a harmful microorganism. Once the skin is breached, S. aureus can cause infections like pneumonia and skin infections. The coinfections between these two microorganisms present high risk on human health. This study deals with investigating the effect of electromagnetic radiation on Staphylococcus aureus. It focuses on exposing the S. aureus bacteria samples to different Ultra High Frequencies (UHF). The number of bacterial colonies that grew from the exposed sample and unexposed samples were assessed. The average bacterial growth was 90.51%. This means that some of the bacteria did not survive after exposure to radiation. This result showed that some of the UHFs had affected the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. The correlation between the frequency and the growth of the bacteria was also calculated by means of computing the Pearson Correlation coefficient. The result is 0.4344 which signifies a small positive linear relation between the two parameters mentioned. These results can be preliminary stage on exploring other possible application of electromagnetic radiation in prevention of diseases.","PeriodicalId":230810,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 12th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology, Communication and Control, Environment, and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133858672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
