One of the established applications of WSN is localization of moving objects, which is integral part of monitoring, surveillance, intrusion detection and target tracking. For localizing a moving object in WSNs, generally, a set of location-aware static WSN nodes are used to localize the mobile nodes or moving target using a specific localization algorithm. RSSI and Trilateration based location identification is a well-known traditional method which needs distance calculation prior to localization. Many researchers have modified the traditional trilateration method to better suit their application or in general. In this paper we present, a modified trilateration method, which uses our application specific cooperative technique with better choice of beacon node placement to improve distance calculation method. The distance values are then used to expedite the trilateration process. The proposed technique has been simulated and compared with the traditional method. The results show that our proposed technique consumes less energy and ensures faster and complete localization through the deployed sensor nodes.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115314572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a problem with sharing the medical records. If someone knows the subject of the record by using various methods, it can result in an invasion of the patient's privacy. To solve the problem, it is important to carefully address the tradeoff between data sharing and privacy. For this reason, de-identification techniques are applicable to address the problem. However, de-identified data has a risk of re-identification. There are two problems with using de-identification techniques. First, de-identification techniques may damage data utility although it may decrease a risk of re-identification. Second, de-identified data can be re-identified from inference using background knowledge. The objective of this paper is to analyze the probability of re-identification according to inferable quasi-identifiers. We analyzed factors, inferable quasi-identifiers, which can be inferred from background knowledge. Then, we estimated the probability of re-identification from taking advantage of the factors. As a result, we determined the effect of the re-identification according to the type and the range of inferable quasi-identifiers. This paper contributes to a decision on de-identification target and level for protecting patient's privacy through a comparative analysis of the probability of re-identification according to the type and the range of inference.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128272878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a framework to train an AI agent to use scalable vector graphic (SVG) editor to draw SVG images. Hence, the objective of this AI agent is to draw SVG images that are similar as much as possible to their target raster images. We find that it is crucial to distinguish the action space into two sets and apply a different exploration policy on each set during the training process. Evaluations show that our proposed dual-exploration policy greatly stabilizes the training process and increases the accuracy of the AI agent. SVG images produced by the proposed AI agent also have superior quality compared to popular raster-to-SVG conversion software.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122608161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electroencephalography (EEG) signals have been proven to be effective in evaluating human's cognitive state under specific tasks. In this paper, we propose the use of deep learning on EEG signals to detect the driver's cognitive workload under high and low workload tasks. Data used in this research are collected throughout multiple driving sessions conducted on a high fidelity driving simulator. Preliminary experimental results conducted on only 4 channels of EEG show that the proposed system is capable of accurately detecting the cognitive workload of the driver with an enormous potential for improvement.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126994167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the signal transmitted from the coast passes through the sea surface, the attenuation of the signal is relatively reduced due to the ducting phenomenon, and the received signal is affected to be interfered with the receiver in the coastal area of the neighbouring country. The ducting phenomenon is caused by the refractive index reversal of the high-level atmospheric information, and the amount of interference varies depending on the depth and slope of the duct due to the atmospheric refractive index. In this paper, we analyse the atmospheric refractive index in a specific region and explain the occurrence of duct phenomenon through path loss simulation related to the region.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122307987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As they have bigger and more advanced tasks as time goes by, clusters of small UAVs are preferred rather than one single large UAV since they offer bigger coverage area, higher flexibility, and even more reliability. However, the drone system has limited computing power and energy resource which makes it a challenge how to utilize this system to have a long operation time. In this paper, we propose an opportunistic computational offloading system which borrows computing power from other drones cluster to help finishing tasks on a specified cluster. When there is a drone cluster having a lot of computing tasks exists with another cluster in the communication range that has enough computing resources or in the idle state, our proposed scheme will make a cluster head to opportunistically decide to do offloading or not by considering various costs. The proposed scheme aims to increase the drone's lifetime and also to shorten the response time.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130386455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Surveillance is essential for patients with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure (hbp) with a mortality rate of 24% in the country and diabetes in rural areas of Senegal lacking medical specialists. A micro-computer system based on raspberry pi is used. Nurses in rural areas can use to collect biometric information captured by sensors such as high blood pressure, blood sugar, electrocardiogram (ECG) and body temperature of the patient. If one of the patient's biometric parameters exceeds normal, the nurse sends a message to a specialist physician in their area.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130620179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Division operation is difficult in fixed operation, the dividend A is firstly converted into user-defined floating point, then the inverse is implemented in the invertor unit. B/A will complete with a fixed multiplication. Linear approximation theory and Newton-Raphson iteration are used in invertor unit. The major advanced of this arithmetic is that it easily combines with fixed operation, we can proposed user-defined floating point according to the range of dividend A and the accuracy can easily acquire. In this paper, invertor unit for A range to [0.5, 2) with 23 decimal bits is designed. It is compiled and implemented both on FPGA and Synopsys Design Compiler.","PeriodicalId":228625,"journal":{"name":"2018 20th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT)","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124079031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
