In the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, the main challenge in watermarking is how to achieve high imperceptibility or visual quality and robustness without sacrificing the capacity of the cover image. In addition, the watermark should be ably extracted without any distortion. As for that, spiral scan embedding technique is used to overcome this issue. The performance of the proposed project is evaluated by comparing the results of extracting process using spiral scan technique with sequence technique, while the imperceptibility of the cover image is measured using Peak Signal Ratio (PSNR) and robustness of the watermarked image is measured using Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC). The eesult shows that the proposed technique obtains high imperceptibility and robustness.","PeriodicalId":228173,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied and Physical Sciences","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133213464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(garlic), harvested from the region of El Harrouche, Skikda (Algeria). The antibacterial effect of essential oil and fresh juice was assessed by the Aromatogram method against three Gram-clinical bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae) and a Gram + strain (Staphylococcus aureus) in addition to two reference strains Escherichia coli ATCC25922 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC29213. The minimum inhibitory concentration of the essential oil and fresh juice was determined by the solid dilution method. The results showed that the essential oil had an antibacterial effect only on Staphylococcus aureus strains (19 and 18mm), whereas the fresh juice exerted an antibacterial effect against all the tested strains, with inhibition zones of 17, 18,19,18, 16 and14 mm for Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 , Escherichia coli, Escherichia coli ATCC25922 Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae respectively. Significant statistic differences were recorded between the effects of different juice dilutions (p = 0.004) where the tested strains were completely resistant at the dilution 5%. The minimum inhibitory concentration of the essential oil was 640 μg/ml for Staphylococcus aureus, while those of fresh juice were 640μg/ml for Escherichia coli strains, 1280μg/ml for Staphylococcus aureus strains and 2560μg/ml for Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae.","PeriodicalId":228173,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied and Physical Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130256654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antioxidant activity by all isolated LAB in intracellular cell free extracts (ICFE) was higher than in intact cells. The LAB strains FF and FB, isolated from fermented foods (fish and sliced beef), their (ICFE) showed the highest radicalscavenging activity for DPPH and ABTS at 65% and 60%, respectively for the former strain. The detection of amino acid decarboxylase of LAB were investigated by growing on decarboxylase medium and quantitatively evaluated by confirmation of amine forming capacity using an HPLC procedure. In this work, all tested LAB strains were tyramine producer; however, the weakest strain was FF followed by strain FB. In contrast, all of them did not produce histamine. Based on 16S rRNA genes, strain FF was identified as Lactobacillus fermentum, while strain FB was Lactobacillus plantarum. Both are potential starter cultures for producing fermented meat sausages.","PeriodicalId":228173,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied and Physical Sciences","volume":"316 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116366435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sorting algorithm plays a vital role in searching and the field of data science. Most of the sorting algorithms with O(n2) time complexity are very efficient for a small list of elements. However, for large data, these algorithms are very inefficient. This study presented a remedy for the noted deficiencies of O(n2) sort algorithm for large data. Among the O(n2) algorithms, selection sort was the subject of the study considering its simplicity. Although selection sort is regarded as the most straightforward algorithm, it is also considered the second worst algorithm in terms of time complexity for large data. Several enhancements were conducted to address the inefficiencies of selection sort. However, the procedures presented in all the enhancements can still lead to some unnecessary comparisons, and iterations that cause poor sorting performance. The modified selection sort algorithm utilizes a Bidirectional Enhanced Selection Sort Algorithm Technique to reduce the number of comparisons and iterations that causes sorting delays. The modified algorithm was tested using varied data to validate the performance. The result was compared with the other O(n2) algorithm. The results show that the modified algorithm has a significant run time complexity improvement compared with the other O(n2) algorithms. This study has a significant contribution to the field of data structures in computer science and the field of data science.","PeriodicalId":228173,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Applied and Physical Sciences","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130209004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
