The field distribution of a hemispherically capped rod-plane gap can be computed using various methods. In this study, utilization factor of the rod-plane electrode system for different electrode gap spacing was computed by charge simulation method (CSM). Then the computed results were compared with values computed by formulas of other researchers. There is a good agreement between the values computed with CSM and other methods reported in literature. Then, PAI-silica hybrid films were prepared by drying and curing the silane-modified PAIs. With increasing silica unit content, the hybrid films have higher elastic modulus and tensile strength of the original PAI film, however maintain maximum elongation. Furthermore, they have much lower moisture absorption than the PAI film under wet conditions. Moreover, this hybrid film found that a difference was in a dielectric constant as compared with the usual film. The intrinsically conductive and semiconductive polymers have allowed designers the liberties of flexibility and conductivity to meet needs from batteries to solar cells. This paper gives an overview of this search past, present, and future and the synthesis of promising new complex polymer building blocks which can yield conductive, semiconductive, luminescent, ferro-, ferri-, and superparamagnetic materials for devices of the future in power, storage, displays, and communications devices. Therefore, ozone can be used as an alternative to chlorination processes with low energy consumption and without detrimental effects to the environment. Ozone can be applied to numerous industrial applications including treatments of water, industrial wastes and removal of NO/sub x/ and SO/sub x/ from flue gases, bleaching processes, in the semiconductor industry and other applications. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the effects of various parameters on the production of ozone both experimentally and by numerical simulation. A numerical simulation of the products created in oxygen which is widely used in the production of ozone and employing very short pulsed streamer discharges at atmospheric pressure was performed. A simulation has been made of the rate coefficients of various plasma chemical reactions including electron impact dissociation of molecular oxygen, which occurs in the streamer corona discharge as functions of the electric field and the ambient gas temperature in a wire-to-cylinder configuration. The influence on the production of ozone of a single pulse, multiple pulses, gas temperature and gas pressure have been investigated. This study was aimed at understanding the discharge phenomenon in an ozonizer after applying a short pulsed voltage for 100 ns in more details that could not be observed by experiments. Although the major analytical properties of processed oil such as the dissipation factor at 100/spl deg/C, the interfacial tension (IFT) and the total acid number (TAN) improve to the level of new oils, the quality of reclaimed oil is considered to be doubtful. Consequently, condition-based maintenance planners believe that purified liquid insulation can never regain the performance of new oil. This mistrust is fuelled by the fact that the existing testing procedures are not capable of establishing a quantitative relationship between oxidation stability and gassing tendency under electrical stress determined in laboratory conditions and the performance of oil in real life. Over the past years, the co-operation between certain state of the art instrument manufacturers and enhanced testing procedure developers has provided the electrical power industry with the means of eliminating this deficiency. This paper intends to show that the quality of properly reclaimed aged oils can successfully compete with that of new oils. The basic design uses a 7 mm diameter by 4 mm high manganese zinc ferrite pot core. Several versions of this transformer were built with different winding patterns. All had similar number of turns and wire sizes. Early versions had Kraft paper insulation between each secondary (high voltage winding) layer. The next version omitted the insulation between the secondary winding layers. As a result, the secondary capacitance of the second version was about three times the value of the first version. From theory, we know that the maximum output voltage is controlled in part by the stray capacitance. The larger the stray capacitance, the smaller the output voltage. Using this starting point, the important outputs, capacitor voltage and charging time, were measured as function of the design control parameters. The design control parameters were the material characteristics, winding pattern, magnetic gap, and turns for primary and secondary.
