The study critically looks into the availability of quality public health infrastructure at different levels of health institutions of the district. It tries to quantify the accessibility of the Munda tribal women into the sponsored health services. More particularly it analyses the disease profile of the Munda women, sources of treatment, expenditure pattern, their perception and attitude towards modern treatment. While quantifying the qualitative responses of the Munda women, the study tried to find out the gaps in and barriers to access health service provisions. It justifies the fact that the tribal-dominated regions suffer from adequate quality of health infrastructure provided by the state. The paper also argues that the tribal women as human endowment must be treated as a form of productive capital and the health services provided by the state must treat tribal women as a productive tool.","PeriodicalId":227852,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Man - An International Journal","volume":"38 15","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114043853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each and every indoor and outdoor game plays unique role in creating the educational environment among the children. Consequently it has been recognized that the game is a medium for teaching-learning process and development of skillness among the children of the concern area. Children learn the language, mathematics, environment, skillness, culture, tradition and custom and finally becoming a responsible member of the society. Agroup of 200women(100 ruraland 100 urban) whowerein wedlock, aged between 17 and 45 years and have at least one child were selected for the study. An urban slum was selected from the city of Kolkata, which represents the ‘urban group’. Two villages from the district of Bankura were purposively selected where the major occupation of the people was day labour. Results showed an association between socio-economic variables and adoption of family planning methods; the usage of Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCPs) were maximum among the urban, women (p < 0.001) and majority of the rural women have adopted female sterilisation (p < 0.01). Although the knowledge about various contraceptive methods was high in both the groups, a significant gap (p < 0.05) was observed in their knowledge and practices of various contraceptive methods. We conclude from this study that there is need to edify the rural and urban women about the different contraceptives usage, focus on their efficacy and resolve different health-related issues of the different contraceptives.","PeriodicalId":227852,"journal":{"name":"The Asian Man - An International Journal","volume":"9 2-4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116819166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
